The iPod Camera Connector provides a fast, easy way to transfer images from your digital camera to your iPod with color display. Compatible with iPod with color display (sold seperately). Requires iPod software v1.1. Simply plug the iPod Camera Connector into the iPod dock connector, plug your camera's USB cable and watch your images make their way to the iPod, ready to view in a slide show!
Requirements and Compatability
The iPod Camera Connector requires an iPod photo and a supported camera or media reader. Other iPods, including iPod mini, iPod (Click Wheel), and iPod shuffle, are not supported with the iPod Camera Connector. The iPod Camera Connector supports cameras with USB connectivity based on the following commonly used protocols: PTP, Type 4 (Normal), and Mass Storage. If you're using Mac OS X 10.3.x, you can use Image Capture to quickly verify what protocol your camera supports.
Image Import Guidelines
Some digital cameras allow you to specify the protocol for importing photos, such as Mass Storage, Type 4 (sometimes referred to as "Normal"), or PTP. If your camera allows you to configure this option, the setting may appear in your camera's Setup mode. Consult your camera manual to see if it offers this option. The Photo Import feature for iPod photo will only import the items that your camera has stored inside the DCIM folder on its media card. Some cameras store movies and sound recordings outside the DCIM folder. If you use the Mass Storage protocol, these items will not be imported. With most cameras, if you use the PTP protocol, movies and sounds should be imported with your photos.
