Older "feed-forward" technology placed the microphone on the outside of the earcup causing headphones to guess at what a sound will be once it reaches the ear. The precision of digital feedback allows headphones to accurately assess, then cancel, unwanted ambient and background noise for incredible noise reduction capability.
Three frequency modes allow superior sound canceling
Sony MDRNC500D digital noise-canceling headphones use digital equalizer driven by Artificial Intelligence software to cancel up to 99% ambient noise and minimize stress on eardrums. Smart software also enables headphones to assess and adjusts to a variety of sound environments in three modes: Airplane, Bus/Train, and Office - each of which may require adjustments in frequency response to achieve noise-canceling. Manual monitor switch allows surrounding sounds to be heard on command.
