Powerful sound at an affordable price
Every aspect of a speaker's design — from driver materials to crossover circuitry — plays a critical role in the speaker's ultimate level of performance. One component that often goes overlooked, and yet makes a significant contribution to a speaker's audio reproduction, is the cabinet in which the driver is housed. Chances are, you're aware that it's the movement of air at the front of a speaker's driver that realizes the reproduction of sound. However, you might not have considered the role played by the air moving at driver's rear . . . inside the cabinet. Most speaker enclosures are "closed", meaning that they are completely sealed off. As you might imagine, closed systems often restrict a driver's movement — reducing efficiency and the output range — and congest moving air within the cabinet, ultimately causing unwanted resonance. Ensuring a listening experience free of distortion and enhanced by improved efficiency and dynamic range, the S 606 speaker system sports bass-reflex enclosures. Also known as ported enclosures, bass-reflex cabinets feature openings, or ports, in the cabinet that facilitate the movement of air behind a speaker driver. With room to breathe, each S 602 and S 606's woofer pumps out clear, full sound free of resonance and marked by extended bass-audio performance.
Floorstanders with a bite
With 130 watts of power per speaker, Jamo's S 606 floorstanders can handle even the most demanding sound. Built with enormous 8" woofers, 5" midrangers, and 1" tweeters, the S 606s aren't messing around. They'll easily deliver strong, clear vocals and deep, booming bass. They're even fully capable of being bi-wired or bi-amplified, a detail the serious audiophile will truly appreciate.
Tailor your listening area with the S 602 bookshelf speakers
While a speaker's ability to sonically meet your listening needs is by far the most important consideration, also worthy of attention is a speaker's ability to meet your installation needs. Thanks to its compact, unobtrusive footprint, each S 602 speaker can be easily placed on bookshelves and cabinet tops without crowding. Further, using the included hardware, you can mount the S 602 speakers to your home theater or living room walls for a clean, custom look.
Dialogue to die for
Jamo's S 60 CEN center channel may have a powerfully ugly name, but that's the only thing ugly about it. If you're looking to add crisp, clear vocals to your home theater experience, look no further. The high-performance 2-way bass reflex speaker puts out plenty of sound with two heavy-duty 4" woofers and a 1" tweeter. Say goodbye to weak sauce vocals, and say hello to a dang that's good sounding theater-quality system.
Included with purchase
Two S 606 floorstanding speakers, two S 602 surround speakers, one S 60 center channel speaker

I love the Jamo speakers i purchased. For the price which is unbelievable they cant be beat. They look incredable, they sound awesome, and I couldnt be happier. My son just spent 1,600.00 on a pair of Kef towers and i would compare the sound quality of these Jamos to them as very close, only real difference to was power and price lol. The Jamos have plenty of power for home use by the way. I would give them 5 out of 5 stars.

Well, heres goes another review, read through all 98 reveiws still not convinced, but what the heck at $349 dollars, you cant even buy a decent center channel speaker, so I thought its cheap enough I can throw them in the basement for the second set planned fo the cave while the B&W CDM 9nts sit up, since Im so into two channel music, I got them and hooked them up right away and moved the NTs aside, ok they sounded fantastic but I was not prepared for egg in my face when I was floored how sound flowed, clear high, great mids, decent low end, actually just enough for music, not movies, quite close in sound to my 9nts B&W, yes I did just say that! I read that in the previous reviews by a few people saying that the compared to the B&Ws but I thought, yeah right whatever. Ok so heres the challenge if you really own B&Ws, and not the ones from 1980s, those are good Im sure rather ones that have been written reviewed from audiophiles alike and abroad, give these a go I say, try it, youll like it, theyre inexpensive speakers and compare them for yourself, like one reviewer said, CHECK YOUR EGO,and once you pass that youll be blown asway, second set I compared this to were my Kefs Q5s, and I cannot express enough how much better these sound than those, not that the Kefs are junk my no means, they were a bit brighter, one other note on the Jamo is that, whatever the recoreding its portrayed quite accurately as the so with my B&Ws, These Jamos just floored me, do I plan to get rid of my 9nts, NO! The B&Ws gave just a tiny bit larger soundstage but not worth the price of admission if I had to do it all over. BTW use some decent speaker cables, Im just running Audioquest Type 4s on these, and Audioquest T8s on the BWs, yes they make a difference, buy some and see, believe, hear. Whats most surprising is that they are not even broken in but they are EXCEPTIOANAL speakers,, get past the ego and free your inner Jamo. Also thanks fo Vanns for quick delivery and great service.

I purchased these speakers based on reviews only. I was thrilled with the sound. Sound was uncolored, imaging good. Tower speakers benefit placed in corners with side woofers for the best bass. Bass is not strong due to 8 inch woofer but that is expected. Matches up to a sub no problem. Vocals clean. Highs crisp but not overly bright. You will not find a better 5 speaker system with this sound to price ratio. Dont let the price fool you.

Vanns suggests a retail price of $1100, and if that were the case, this would still be a great buy for someone looking for a 5 speaker set up. After listening to these speakers, I would have happily paid $350 for one of the towers. I have previously spent close to $2000 for a similar Klipsch Reference set up, and I would put these Jamo speakers right up there with them. You simply cannont find a comparible set of speakers at this price range. The bass from the built in subs is fine for listening to music, but you might want a littel more for movies. Like the other reviewer, Im using a Paradigm PS1000 with this system and I think it sounds amazing. I dont know what happened to Jamo or why these speakers are being offered so cheap from Vanns, but if you dont buy these, youre really missing out. I may buy another set just because it would be stupid not to. I just have to find a place to use them.

Short and sweet here. Vanns was great. Box came damaged on the outside but I do not think it affected the contents. There was a small one inch blemish on the top of one of the towers that was not terribly noticable and a small dime size top left front corner dent of the vaneer once again not really noticable from a distance. Aside from that, every thing was perfect. They are quite gorgeous with nice proportions. I was a little worried about hanging the surrounds from the wall since they are rear-ported but so far I do not notice any sort of flabby base distortion - probably because of the ambiance type signal they receive. The spikes work great. The hardware for connections is top notch. The grills are solid and fit very well. The sound is deep and believable. Have tested the towers with a 25 W pure valve amp from Decware and they sang. Hooked up in 5.1 to a brand new Yamaha 671 and they really deliver an incredible soundscape for the money. I am using a PS1000 paradigm sub with 250W and 10 inch woofer which probably extends the lows to around 25hz. Definitely recommend this if you are watching movies. I would have been downright impressed and purchased the entire set again even if it were $1000. So, in summary, an absolute steal!! Buy it and spend your savings on the source, or like me anything Decware for a true audiophile stereo experience.

I was shopping around for tower speakers for a couple weeks when I came across these guys. I never heard of the brand JAMO before but I saw that they were part of the Klipsch audio group and looked pretty high end. I really liked the appearance of the S606 tower speakers and the fact that they had built in 8 woofers made them more appealing. Even better, the 5 speaker surround package was about the same price as a single tower speaker from companies like Energy, Mirage, Polk, etc. which I had been shopping around for. I took a risk purchasing these as I never had listened to them in person. They came packaged in thick styrofoam and white cloth surrounding each speaker to protect the glossy finish. I was very impressed by the sound quality and power handling capabilities of this system. The bass output alone in the towers was comparable to my 10 Velodyne sub! The treble is very crisp and clean as well. All 3 of the surround speakers have the same style components as the towers and look great with the covers off. I have a decent sized living room with a high ceiling and this system fills it very well. I am using a 7.1 Sony receiver which rated at 100 watts per channel @ 8 ohms. These speakers are rated at 6 ohms so they are getting slightly more than 100 watts. I will probably upgrade to a Yamaha that has Bi-amping capability so I can get full output from the towers. I have absolutely no complaints and no regrets from purchasing this system. Everyone saw and listened thought I paid well over a grand!

I finally talked the wife into spending a little money home speakers. We listen to music all the time and our small satelite speakers with the sub just were not cutting it. I have worked in audio car and home for about 8 years and never took advantage of the factory direct pricing, but have a well trained ear. These spakers are amazing, they are crispe, precise, and fluid. Also the bottom end of these towers are rediculous. I have not had a great deal of time as far as movie are concerned, a sub is still neccesary in my opinion. All in all for the money you can not go wrong.

I was in market to replace my Infinity and Polk bookshelf speakers for my new Denon1912. Had one of the Polks blow out on me which prompted the need. I use 5050 for music & movies and play the music loud, so I wanted a lot of speaker up front, and this system caught my eye right away because of the towers. Plus I already have a sub and didnt want to buy another, so it was the components I wanted and none i didnt. Spent lots of time in stores listening to towers, and was leaning towards Klipsch towers at about $350ea. Good thing I checked out Vanns because I just got myself 5 speakers for about the price of one Klipsch after tax! I was very nervous about buying without listening, but let me say I am blown away by these speakers! First impression is the amazing elegant look of the towers and superb workmanship. Look like they cost 10X as much. After set up and calibration via the Denon, they sounded so full and rich I had had to make sure my sub was working as the Jamo woofers really filled the room. For movies though you will still want a sub. For my money they are far and away the best speakers I could have bought. I am not a sound geek and am sure there are better speakers, but I can truley appreciate good sound, and these speakers deliver. They leave me wanting nothing. Glad to see a manufacturer making high quality affordable products.

After getting a Pioneer VSX1021k for christmas, I had a hard job to find speakers that would work well with my receiver, i wanted big speakers for movies and lots of music. Ive read lots of CNET best speakers reviews but I still wasnt conviced. I was aiming for the Definitive Technology BP-8020ST 5.0 system. But, hey, this goes for more than $3K in their site and cheapest in eBay for more than $2K. I had the opportunity to listen to that system at BestBuy Magnolia, pretty good sound and nice bass. Buuuuuuutttttttttt! I ran with the JAMO system by pure accident! This brand is own by Klipsh and Klipsh makes very good speakers for the American market, JAMO is more for the Europe users. If you go to youtube, there are lots of european users using this system. I been using them for quite some time time now, and man, let me tell you, the sound its HARD, CRISP AND CLEAR, I couldnt believe how awsome they sound. Now I understand why so many 5 star review. The contruction its Hard, Solid and Beautiful. Bass its pretty strong since you have one 8 woofer in each tower. You dont really need a separate powered subwoofer, I bought one,JAMO SUB260 $300, anyways besides everyone else says you dont need it, YOU DONT! If you are some one who likes lots of BASS like me, you have to becarefull because depending on the speaker placement and room size you MAY EXPERIENCE DECREACE IN AMOUNT OF BASS DUE LOW FREQUENCY CANCELLATIONS. Thats what happened to me, So my powered subwoofers its worthless, cant use it. The Jamo towers can be BI-AMP OR BI-WIRED,makes a huge different in sound, so MAKE SURE YOUR RECEIVER CAN BE SET TO BI-AMP or BI-WIRED. Rather do Bi-Amp because the receiver will use an entire ampchannel to send the low frequecies to drive the woofer and another ampchannel to the other tower. Thats why bass is so much greater and clearer. They sound amazing with music. I still need to tweak a lilttle with movies. So, to be able, from what I learned, to use this speakers, you need and AV Receiver to could handle at least 6 Ohms! Because if you use 8 Ohms or higher, you will burn the amps from the receiver. Regarding watts, youll be ok with 90 or more watts, obiously the higher the bettter. Ohms are more important. Also make sure your receiver could be set to do bi-amp or bi-wire. owners manual from the receiver will tell you if you could bi-amp or bi-wire. I belive this will make a huge difference in sound quality. The speakers accepts bannana plugs quality speakers have bannana plugs. THE GOOD quality contruction, heavy, solid piece, beautifull piano and matte finish, spikes for carpets, spike shoes, spikes can be adjusted individualy for uneven floors. awsome sound with heavy bass. PRICE! center channel can hanndle bass frequencies. Bi-amp amd bi-wired. Best speakers Ive ever owned. Jamo gives you the option to use or not to use the speakers grills. Without is more aggresive looking. THE ONLY DRAW BACKS the subs from the towers are not powered, the receiver has to drive them, unlike the Definitive Technology BP-8020ST, their towers has powered subs with crossover. Its a huge bonus because the receiver wont has to spend much power to drive them. This is why you need a Receiver with enough power to move those Jamo tower subs. No included legs for the surround speakers, just the center. I dont know if its a european cultural thing, but the Owners Manual SUCKS! Only like 3 pages for set up and thats it, no troubleshoot guide. And a worthless book with a single page talking about warranty in lke 20 different languages. Warranty doesnt tell you if its a year 2, 3,4,5 yeras of warranty.

First of all let me say that Vanns service was great . The product was easily ordered at a price point I simply could not refuse. I ordered on New Years Eve after pontificating on the purchase over the course of the day. Vanns stated a delivery date which I thought was optimistic at best given the holidays. It arrived one day after their projected delivery date due to UPS Ground issues not Vanns. I have read all of the reviews on this site prior to my purchase. Most of the reviews were very good and a few exceptional. That is, they provided a great amount of detail. The bad reviews of this product seem to revolve around packaging, damage, and delivery. Having addressed the first I will address the second. When the speakers arrived the package was big and heavy. I moved it into the house about 10 feet from the garage and had to slide the rest of the way on the hardwood floors. It weighs about 150lbs but because it is bulky it is hard to move. Take this into consideration when ordering. I am a power-lifter and it was difficult for me to move. With regards to the packaging let me say this There were chunks taken out of the side of the box ~ 2 ix 2 inches. The speakers have individual speaker bags. The core of the packaging is Styrofoam. The speakers are arranged three dimensionally around the core. The entire outer core is 3 to 4 inch Styrofoam. Yes there were dings in the box but short of shopping into it with a wood ax it cannot be damaged. If you want a perfect box, go buy one. I have purchased a great deal of Scandinavian and European furniture over the years and am familiar with both the finish techniques and and construction. Most consumers may not be familiar with these construction techniques. The cabinets on the speakers are high pressure fiber board. However, you will not find this kind of quality in the United States at this kind of of price. It is common in Scandinavian and Italian furniture to glue a thin laminate veneer into the side of the fiberboard using a vacuum press device. Some melamine cabinets are done in the same manner. So, you can apply plastic or a thin layer of wood but the question remains Is this plastic or wood or veneer? Let me tell you something I have no idea. If it is plastic it is the best wood like plastic I have ever seen. These cabinets are well engineered. I am a musician and I have perfect pitch.I listen to a variety of music. I listen to classical music and to jazz the most. I find without exception the the reviews of these speakers with regards to classical and jazz music are incorrect that is, most of the reviews state that you need an upgraded speaker system to listen to these genres. These speakers produce exceptional sonic clarity with superb separation in the the mix. if you examine the settings on your receiver you may discover what is the deficit. Develop your ear and do not make the mistake of thinking that loudness and clarity at loudness. Oh, by the way, I listen mainly to these speakers in 3.0 mode. What..! Yes it is true that in a room which 30 by 20 feet I choose to listen in this mode. The surround speakers are sitting unused on a pool table. It is because of my receiver and the settings that I use this. USE YOUR SETTINGS !

I recently upgraded to this set of Jamos from a Bose 321. I loved the Bose and the only reason I wanted to upgrade was because I wanted a 5.1 surround. I was skeptical about Jamo because of the low price and held off buying for quite some time while I shopped all over town at audio stores to compare sound quality vs. price. After listening to dozens of different speakers in a wide price range, I decided the only way spending $2,000 on a set of speakers was worth it was if i didnt have to consider price in my purchase... but like most people, I do! In the end it was the customer reviews of the Jamos that won me over and made me decide to give them a shot. I can say this. The reviews are very consistent with the performance of the product. They crank out a lot of sound and there is a pretty good range from the highs to lows. The subs are probably powerful enough for most people but Ill probably get a powered sub in the future because I really like the house to shake when something blows up in a movie! ... Music sounds AWESOME with these speakers! I was smiling with in seconds after turning them on. I played with the setting on my Sony 650 Watt Receiver and my smile just got bigger and bigger! considering I got these in the clearance center on VANNS for $300 I was blown away by the performance... Ive had a few friends visit and listen to the system and Ive received unsolicited compliments on the sound quality. They say they wish they could afford to get a set of speakers like these someday. I tell them i got them for $300 on VANNS and they simply dont believe me! If youre considering these I recommend buying them. The only con I would point out is the size of the speakers. If youre putting them in a living room that is already a bit cramped then theyre going to be too big. I have them in a theater room and the size actually adds to the movie experience... but then again all Ive owned before was Bose and they are engineered specifically to be very small. So maybe Im still getting used to the size.

Yes the box was pretty banged up and yes there were some small dents on a couple of corners, but a black marker touch up and youd never no it. It was missing some hardware but I can do without them. I did have a pair of 25 year old Yamaha tower speakers, which back then were one of the best. But what a up grade. I will say that the rear speakers arent as good as Id hoped. I think im going to keep my Bose cube speakers? But still undecided? I did not have any issues with shipping and would highly recommend getting these speakers, you will not regret it. By the way I had never herd of Jamo until a friend turned me on to them who has a pair in his house. And he just happens to install very high end home theater systems professionally. Now i owe him some drinks he says........ and hes going to get them.

These speakers have met or exceeded all of my expectations. First of all, they look amazing. The towers are much bigger than I expected. I ordered the black set, and these speakers look like extremely high end equipment. The build quality is also very impressive. For reference, these speakers are connected to an Onkyo TX-NR609, using 12 gauge generic wire and banana plugs. Im also using a Polk PSW10 sub. The room size is 17x12 feet. Looks aside, for the price range they sound excellent. I use them for watching TV, listening to music, playing PS3, and watching blu-rays. The sound quality is an incredible improvement from my old Sony HTIB speakers. I was immediately able to hear sounds that I never heard from my Sony satellites. I only cranked up the volume once, as I live in an apartment building, but I did not hear any distortion at all. Only crisp, clear sound. I would definitely recommend a sub with these speakers, because when I turn mine off the low end is lacking. I will reiterate what others have said The box that these are shipped in is MASSIVE. The UPS guy had to go back to the shipping facility and pick up a second delivery guy to help him get this box in my apartment. I had to move furniture for the box to lay flat on the floor. The tower speakers are well over 40lbs each. Im not complaining, because more weight often means better build quality. Also, the box was very beat up on arrival. Luckily, the speakers were fine, but it looked like the box had been to an active war zone. In summary, I would highly recommend these speakers at this price point. They look a lot better than the Polk alternative from the local Big Box retailer. I purchased these speakers after reading lots of glowing reviews on internet AV forums, but without listening to them. I was not disappointed with my purchase.

Speakers look and sound great. The fit and finish is very nice. I did have to return the original set because of damage but vanns took care of it and sent me another set. If you are a bass lover you will need a sub woofer to complement this set. Do not get me wrong the bass is good but not 12 sub woofer good. Can you buy a better surround sound system....yes. I am sure that if you walked into a high fidelity stereo store which I have many times they would have systems that would make this set sound fair at best, but the price would be way out of the budget of the common guy.

The home theater set is absolutely as advertised and at $499 an amazing value. More musical than I expected and beautiful on voice. Somewhat limited in imaging and wow factor dynamics, but better in those departments that speakers costing much more. They are attractive and have a relatively small footprint. Coupled with the Onkyo TX-NR8O9 that I also purchased from Vanns, the create a moving home theater experience in my partially finished basement, that also does duty as my office. Vanns service and shipping were excellent and timely. I am a very satisfied customer..

Room filling and great sound from this package. I have them setup with an Emotiva Ultra Sub-12 and the sound is amazing. My problem with the Jamos is the poor packaging. I received two sets of these and both arrived damaged. Vanns has a policy to only send two items if damaged so I had a choice to keep one of the sets or return them both and be without speakers. I choose to keep one set at a discount rate. From what Ive read on many forums this is a major problem with Jamo products. Im not sure why Vanns keeps selling these if Jamo isnt willing to package their products better. Vanns if you continue to sell Jamo products why not invest in double boxing these and charge the customer a little more or not since you have to be losing a lot of money on return shipping. My overall rating of two is because of the poor packaging and the time I wasted on the phone getting this straitened out with Vanns.

Even the wife is happy because it saved us money over any other system that I was considering. I heard at a friend’s house before purchasing and was skeptical even when he said that he found a system for such a great price. FYI it needs a sub to complete the sound but great mid-bass and highs, fast shipping as well.

Got these as a scratch and dent deal. I imagine I can figure out a way to fill and color the top corner of one of the tower speakers, but for the discount I could not pass these up. I replaced my Onkyo speakers with these, and immediately could tell a huge difference. Sensitivity is low on these, so you would benefit having a higher powered amp. Mine is pushing 85wchannel and they are no where near distorting, even at max volume. I felt like I had to turn up the center channel a little to hear dialogue clearly, but that could be my receiver. By turning it up two clicks, it sounds perfect. These are the brightest and best sounding speakers I have ever owned. After reading the other reviews, I was sold, even with the blemish. Bi-amplification - means you can run two different powered sources to these speakers becuase they have 2 sets of terminals. So if you have two receivers, or a receiver and an all in one home theater system, you are able to hook both up to the two towers. You will not be disappointed with the service from Vanns or the quality of this system.

BUT I also have a same issue like the other guy here. My package came with a dent corner on one of my front speaker. I really really hate it because it makes my theater system look imperfect. Beside that, Im extremely happy with this purchase. Summarizes JAMO SPEAKERS - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED but VANNS shipping service is still a big question mark for me.

Jamo S606, Onkyo receiver, Ipod dock and wireless internet dongle. Everything was shipped quickly and in good shape when arrived. Hooked speakers up to Onkyo TX-NR609, attached Ipod dock and plugged in wireless internet dongle. Turned on the unit and ran through a quick setup and was blown away. Started with the Ipod...music sounded good. Turned on the tv and put it on a music channel....sounded a lil better. Hooked up an old Sony 6 Disc Changer...music was better still. Changed the receiver over to the net and listened to Pandora Radio...it got better again...unbelievable! Warmed the speakers up for a couple hours with some smooth jazz. Changed the receiver back to tv and watched a movie, its unreal how REAL the sounds are coming from the Jamos. This was all done without biamping the speakers and without running Audessey speaker configuration on the receiver. It can only get better from here!! Added a subwoofer the other day...a must have to thoroughly enjoy the quality of the Jamos.

I purchased Jamo S606 HCS3 from Vanns via Amazon. The speakers perform excellent on my Denon AVR 891 in my home office 16 ft x 12 ft even without a subwoofer when playing both classic music and modern music. This is the best system at this price range and I cannot find any similar products in the market. Moreover, the Jamo speakers work perfectly when a JBL subwoofer is attached. Additionally, my wife likes the color of the speakers very much.
There are minor problems during shipping of the products and I believe these problems are caused by the carrier. Fortunately, when I contacted Vanns, the customer service of Vanns solved the problems immediately with 100 satisfactory. I will recommend this store, Vanns, to all my friends because this is a trustable store.

One KEF Reference One Center channel speaker
Two KEF Q15 speakers main

After researching the Jamo S606HCS3, I decided Id give full range speakers a try, and I could not be happier.
The main speakers provide low frequency reproduction at least as low as my previous system - which included the dedicated sub!!!!
To be fair, I decided to add a matching Jamo sub especially for movie effects, but that does not detract from the fact that the amazing range and clarity provided by this system are unbelievable!!
As an added bonus, these speakers look amazing! The finish and styling are very pleasant in fact, my biggest worry was the wife factor, but she thinks they are beautiful too.

However, when I decided to upgrade my home theater, I decided on a new matched set. The choices are endless, and I wasnt going to spend a fortune though I couldve!. What we all want is a steal - the pay little for top of the line. Well, I ran across these JAMOs during my research. The reviews were really good, and once I found out that JAMO was owned by Klipsch - well, I just couldnt resist. Yeah, I was nervous, but lemme tell you, after getting these set up....what a great decision. These speakers first are simply beautiful. One of the speakers had a flaw, but that was why I got a great buy on them...and the flaw is on the bottom, so you cant see it. The sound, once I performed the Audyssey MultEQ XT calibration on my Denon, is AWESOME! I cant say enough good things about these speakers. I would agree, however, that the instructions are lacking severely. Not that there is a lot of set up, but youre given some hardware that frankly you scratch your head on what to do with it. We figured it out, though! You wont be disappointed.

Set up was as easy as you can get and the 2 floor standing speakers have double plugs for those of us with just 5 speakers. Using the two extra spots of a 7.1 surround receiver to double the wattage of these bigger speakers.
Subtract two small imperfections on the top of the speakers and these have been perfect for me. The speakers do a great job with bass even without a sub woofer. Providing enough power for a large house, let alone a small apartment. Heres to me wishing I would have bought an even more powerful receiver to keep up with these speakers.

I was a skeptic at first looking at the deal on Vanns website, however, after hooking it up to my Harmon receiver I quickly realized that these speakers do have a lot to offer and they sound way bigger better than they cost. I have had variety of speakers in the past which include Axiom, Bose, Infinity, Polk, B&W but these speakers definitely belong in my top speakers. Front speakers have a lot of base built in and even without a heavy duty SUB they were able to produce clean low end frequencies. Looking at center channel, I originally thought that I might have to augment these with my other center channel but I was pleasantly surprised to listen crisp and clean mid range response which was good for a decent midsize room 18x16. Surround speakers are okay as they are able to adequately support other speakers in the group and add to overall sound quality.

For $399, you will not find a better pair of speakers. I have these bi-wired with my Marantz Sr5005 receiver and the sound that comes out of these rivals any $1000 pair of Floorstanders. For $400, you get a 5 channel system that includes the Floorstanders, a center channel and 2 surrounds. The clarity is impeccable - I do watch a fair amount of movies with surround, but I needed something that could handle music better than the smaller sets of comparable speakers Energy Micro. These speakers have the uncanny ability to drive high volume, distortion free, music with extreme vocal clarity. You definitely want to add in a separate sub, however, to take some of the pressure off of your amp as well as to really hit the lows you need. The speakers do OK with a built in sub, but I have a powered sub with a Xover at 80- some people would rather have it for 60 for music alone- to complement both movies and music. I have a 15X25 open TV room that these speakers have no issues filling at moderate volumes, so just know that these pack a punch. If you are more concerned with saving space, this isnt for you, but I would be more concerned with getting the best sound for your money vs. saving space when building a HT. Highly recommended!

The speakers look and sound great. I was looking for speakers that would be great yet on my limited budget. I do do not know much about the technical side of speakers so I can not comment on those. They were easy to hook up, they match our living room nicely, sound great with music or movies. I want to get a separate sub but really do not need to.

This is a quality system with a very good priceperformance ratio. Fit and finish were excellent. The main towers are striking, they do stand tall. Measured height 42.5 versus 39.4 listed in the specs.
Although still breaking them in, the soundstage is open and detailed when playing music, somewhat less so in home theater mode. Bass is adequate, but a sub is a must. My Mirage Omni 12 matches up well with the Jamos. The towers can be bi-wired.
My only negative quibble involves the detachable grills. Although they are not large, for some reason they have a honeycomb plastic bracing edge to edge, which probably affects the sound. The speakers do like fine without them
Be aware that that the entire system is shipped in one very heavy, but well packed box. UPS beat up the exterior, but contents were fortunately in pristine condition. Standing the box on end makes solo removal of the towers much easier.
Also very impressed with Vanns -excellent pre and post sale communication and responsiveness.

I bought the Jamo Speakers S606HCS3 from Vanns, and I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that they are the best 5.0 speakers for their modest price. It includes two giant floor-standers, a loud center piece, and 2 bookshelf speakers. The Dark apple finish is aesthetically pleasing. They come fully put together and ready to use out of the box, but also come with additional parts such as removable front fabric grilles that can be easily put on if you so choose. if you like loud, crisp sounding speakers, then dont even think twice about buying a set of these bad boys. I have been using them for months, and I couldnt be happier with my purchase. I searched far and wide for an affordable 5.0 speaker system that could deliver exceptional sound. At the end of the day, no other system could compare in performance and price of these guys. These speakers are so highly regarded that audiophiles on the AVS Forums constantly recommend buying these for people looking to perfect their home theater.

This 5.0 speaker set offers superb bang for the buck. As someone coming from a HTIB, I find this set is amazing. I was considering building some DIY speakers as my upgrade when this set was brought to my attention. The towers are large, which was my wifes main complaint. However, the sound has won her over. She likes the dark apple finish, which is a very close match to our existing furniture. If you are shopping around for a 5.1 surround set at this price point, do not let the apparent lack of a subwoofer scare you away from this set. I am currently running without a sub as the 8 woofers in the towers provide much more output than the little sub from my HTIB. At this price point, I don't think this set can be beat.

The ideal balance between quality and price a real bargain and a fantastic home theater system if a HTiB just won't cut it. I worked as a sound guy through college, and I think I have a pretty discerning ear and a certain lust for audio tech. But as a recent grad, only just starting my first paying job, I needed to strike a balance between the system of my dreams and something that wouldn't break the bank. I was deciding between this system and a stereo set-up. I even toyed with the possibility of a 3.0 or 3.1 configuration. However, though I would have thought that I would be able to find a pair of nice speakers in the same price range as this five speaker deal, ultimately, nothing really excited me. And as my use was about 5050 music and movies, jumping right to a surround system totally worked for my usage. Theyre hooked up to a Harman Kardon 1600. The 50W amps on this receiver more than adequately power the system. I have not and don't plan to play around with bi-amping, though the speakers support it. I get the sense that these speakers have a lot more oomph in them than I currently use them for, but at about -20db, the volume is perfect for my apartment. Theyr'e still in the breaking-in phase, but thus far, the sound is fantastic. Crisp and a little on the bright side, my jazz collection sounds fantastic on them. I'm less enthusiastic about orchestral music - on the recordings I've tried, its a bit harder to differentiate individual sounds, and it feels a bit muddled. However, and I should be clear on this point, it is heads and shoulders above some of the other entry-level systems I've auditioned, and simply blows away any home theater in a box. Also, though I'm a big HK fan, your mileage may vary with a different amp. The side mounted woofers are impressively powerful. They're not a replacement for a sub, but I'm now completely comfortable putting off a sub purchase until I have the budget for something that is fantastic. I think the center speaker is this systems weak point. The first movie I demoed on this system was Iron Man, and I jumped straight to the scene with the fighter jets. The center channel had some difficulty supporting the dialogue against the rumbling and explosions. I'm still playing with the configuration on my receiver, however, and giving the center channel a 5db boost over what the HK auto-EQ had set it to certainly did help. As a last note, they look beautiful. Even my girlfriend, who was wary of letting me run amok in the living room, had to admit they looked fantastic. Nothing compares in this price range. Audiophiles on a budget should take note.

Just can't believe how such great speakers S606HCS3 can be so affordable. I bought these to replace my Klipsch B3C1 setup which cost the same after discount and the difference is day and night. I'm driving these with a Parasound amp and I can tell you the music really pop. Vocal is clear, mid is tight and high is crystal clear. The 8 sub can provide some bass, but if you really want to make this setup better, you should add a power-sub. Performance on 5.1 is very, very good. The center perform surprisingly well. Dialog is very clear. Another thing I noticed immediately is the wide sound stage this set provide. My theater is up stair with open access to lower level. With older speaker set, I can't really enjoy the music down stair unless I turn the volume way up. With this Jamo set, at a low volume, I can still get a very good audio down stair. The space cover by these speakers are very large. So at less than $400, you cant really beat this. BTW, initially, I planned to put these floor standing speakers inside the two pillars on my theater stage, but because the speakers look so good that my wife ask me to leave them outside. Look stunning. Also, Vanns did a great job on shipping. I bought may sets of speaker here. Perfect transaction every time. Never a hiss.

But I'd like to see more information in manu book. Overall, its worth your every penny, much better than a lot of expensive speakers. Very good deal. This is a great complete 5.0 set for the money. I've had this for about 3 months now, and I'm really liking these. Use so far has been about 7525 moviesmusic, and for movies, it can't be beat. Clear and crisp dialogue from the center, solid surround support from the back, and plenty of detail through the spectrum from the LR towers, as well as a surprising amount of bass from the 8 side-firing woofers in each tower. I figured I'd need a subwoofer to complete the set, but I don't think its really necessary. Lots of tight, never floppy or boxy low end from these. Haven't really listened to quite enough music through these to comment on pure music listening yet...mostly I've just streamed Pandora from my Blu Ray player, which has sounded very solid. I have this set paired with a Denon AVR-1911 receiver, and so far, couldn't be happier. Oh yeah, and they look good too!

First, how can you not like a company named Jamo YAH-MOE? This is a Danish company better known in Europe YURRUP. This has to be one of the best speaker deals on the planet at twice the price! The fronts have a 1 inch silk tweeter, two 5 inch mids, and an 8 inch side woofer. And what a range! The Audessy set-up on my receiver set the crossover with these things at 50hz. The systems mids are strong, the highs are sweet, and the lows leave little for the sub to do. Although you will want to use a sub with movies. It still has some work to do. I bought a Polk PSW10 sub that works just fine for my set-up. Id call this a warm to neutral system. When I opened the carton, I was astonished at how beautiful these speakers were. Better looking than the pictures. My girlfriend was a little apprehensive based on what I told her of their size, but she loves their looks and they really compliment the room. By the way, they really should use two cartons to ship this system. 144lbs from Denmark took its toll on the shipping carton. The whole package barely survived the trip, but thankfully the speakers were ok. One missing part was overnighted the next day. Kudos to Liz of Vanns customer service.

As to sound, these are INCREDIBLE, they are easy and natural to listen and non fatiguing speakers, great for music, exceptional clarity in highs and mids, very good low end,the towers are wonderful and have great weight to boot, well above the 24lbs Jamo states and more like 40lbs each, hence the 137lbs box delivered, plenty of bass for music, with the built in subs, as to movies the 5 five speakers work effortly in harmony and you pick up all the nuances, at this price, youl be hard pressed to find anything nicer even at 3xs the cost. First, Vanns prices and shipping speed is unbeatable. I purchased an item at 300p.m. one day and the next day p.m. I received it. This is not always the case. Normally 3-4 days which is still good.
I purchased the Jamo 770e tower speakers for an extra room after a discussion and recommendation by JOSH. He gave me no nonsense information and was dead on! Thanks again JOSH. For the price...the sound quality and the appearance is pretty darn great. I was skeptical, but if Klipsch is involved it has to be high quality. I have been in the quality field for 35 years and have seen a lot of crap manufactured. Jamo is very high quality for the money.
Now I am considering purchasing the S-606-HCS-3 system to replace my Polk CS series system. Once again JOSH is working with me on this. Its difficult to buy when you cant go to the store and actually hear what you are buying. I have confidence Josh will give me the information I need to make a sound decision.

My original search was for speakers that had the clarity of the older ADS speakers from the 80s in a modern design. My research led me to the JAMO line of speakers and PSB speakers and B&W. PSB and B&W are significantly more expensive. I purchased these sound unheard after browsing the internet in the middle of the night. I was aftraid that at the low price of the set they would sell out. The next day I went to a local dealer and was thoroughly impressed. I was pairing these with a NAD T747 receiver running as a preamp and Adcom GFA-7607 7-channel amp. I thought that this would be total over kill for these speakers and they couldnt handle that much power. So I drove 2 12 hours to a dealer that had PSB and B&W just to hear the difference. Nothing significant to my ears.
I finally got the JAMO speakers and they can handle all the power I throw at them. They rock. The mistake I made was not buying the matching JAMO sub. I went with a Klipsch 10 reference sub which is significantly more expenve than the JAMO without the improved performance I was hoping for.
Cosmetically these are very sexy speakers that work well. The towers are tall and slim with a gorgeous polished cherry finish.
These were exactly what I was looking for. I couldnt be happier.

I purchased these speakers on line from Vanns. This is by far the best sound for the price! I paired them with matching Jamo sub.BTW, you will need this unless you are going bi-amp and Yamaha receiver. crisp high and lively lows. warm mid range and wide sound stage. They rival my B&W at a fraction of the cost! I was so impressed, I am buying another set to upgrade my other system. FYI, Jamo is owned by Klipsch.

I upgraded my Boston acoustic mcs100 speakers for these. The improvement of sound on the Jamo is night and day compared to the mcs100. I am happy I purchase these. I recommend these speakers to anyone who needs to upgrade their speaker systems. The only con is the speakers comes in a 145lb box that get damage pretty easy, but the speakers are packed pretty well. Thanks Vanns, they were delivered fast! Oh, by the way these speakers look awesome too.

This speaker system is an amazing value. The overall quality and appearance is that of speakers costing several times the price. The sound is equally impressive. Highs are crystal clear and the mid-range tones dont get washed out at high volume. The real surprise is the side mounted woofer in each speaker. Unless you are looking to rattle the windows, there is really no need for a separate subwoofer. Buy these before the price goes up, you will be glad you did.

I bought these speakers to upgrade my home theatre set up. I was currently using 2 sets of bose 301s. I Bought the Jamo speakers based on the price and positive reviews. I was hesitant to purchase them online but after recieving them and listening to them I couldnt be happier with my decision. The highs are crisp and clear and after I paired them with a matching Jamo sub the lows were deeply satisfying. I recommend them to anybody looking for good sound with even better eye appeal. The buying experience from Vanns was excellent. I was missing a few small parts and after one quick phone call I recieved all of the missing pieces in a few short days. I will continue to shop at vanns for the value and customer service they offer.

These speakers arrived in a single LARGE 141 pound box that was pretty ratty looking by the time it got to me, with several holes in the cardboard, so I was fearing the worst upon opening them. The speakers were well packed in styrofoam and each speaker was sleeved in a cloth sleeve that fully covered it. The styrofoam was broken in several places, but did its job protecting the contents. I am glad I like these speakers, because there is no way the box would survive a return trip. These are some of the nicest speakers at their current price point that you will find. I stepped up from Energy Take Classic satellite style speakers and the difference is HUGE. Much larger, more detailed soudstage and that is without tweaking much on my Onkyo receiver. I am sure once I get them dialed in I am going to love them even more. Do yourself a favor and jump on these while there are still some in stock!

All I have to say is I am impressed. I was not expecting these speakers to have the look and quality, never mind the sound, that they do for this price. These are solid, well made cabinets and outstanding drivers. And Vanns shipped these to me for free in 3 days. This has to be the fastest turn around I have had ordering online. I plan on ordering the sub woofer that matches these speakers and I plan on doing that through Vanns. Once again WOW Impressed. Dennis Selden, NY

Its going to be hard to find a set of speakers or speaker package for $399 which exibit the build quality and sound of the Jamo S606. The Towers have a rare design not found in most towers that are produced today, a three way design loaded with two mids and a side firing 8 inch woofer. Amps of old would push these speakers easily, Im using a Sony STR DB 830. To get the sound Im Talking about you would have to spend $800 plus on a modern receiver, or utilize an Integrated Amp. These speakers play loud, highs are good, bass is solid. Dont be fooled by the generic pictures, these speakers are gorgeous. I also love the floor spikes or feet, they were designed to accomodate most carpet and hardwood floors.

I have been reading a lot of reviews regarding this system package and I was still skeptic because I have owned B&Ws and M&K speakers which sounded very good both music and movies until i finally decided that I will buy a set of these good looking dark apple Jamo S606 HCS3 system and sure enough, I was really impressed the way these speakers deliver their sound quality. I paired these speakers with my Onkyo 608 and they matched perfectly without a doubt! I broke the speakers in with a steady volume at 45db for about 8 hours running and after that I cranked it at 78-85 db and mannnnnn these system aint no joke! My M&K LCR 75 which cost 3 times as much as these and they sounded pretty mych close. The center speakers delivered very good vocals and very articulate sounding just remember to adjust your bass level for the fronts to almost flat specially if you have a subwoofer because the built in sub for the S606 tend to butch up the vocals but other than that this speakers are perfect! The Dark Apple looks is amazing too! Very Classy! For this price I will buy a set again! To top it off, Vanns delivered this Item very quick and for free with no tax!

I came from the Bose world wasnt happy. Did some research and found these Jamo speakers on Vanns on sale. There wasnt any speakers in my price range which offered floor standing with 8 subs intergated. I dont know how this manufacturer can afford to sell these so cheap, as the quality of sound is suberb, just as I like it. Im using them with Denon 1911 AVR, and the sound is verything as I expected. They are not bright as Klipsh, but they are very well rounded wide response speakers. For the price Vanns is offering at the moment, they are worth their weight in gold!
The only issue I have is with the carton box Jamo uses to pack & ship these speakers. They are not sturdy enough to hold the speakers during shipping and abuse.
Bottom line, sound quality wise, you cant find a better one. But you can find better speakers if you are willing to spend twice as much. Law of diminishing returns...

I was in the market for a mid range speaker system and didnt want to spend a whole lot. When I found these, I was floored. At $399 they were $400-500 cheaper than speakers in their class.
They sound phenomenal. The only lacking part is in the low end department. The 8 inch subs built into the tower speakers cant push the lows like a dedicated sub. I strongly recommend getting a separate sub-woofer to go with this package. The mids and highs are extremely crisp and pronounced.
The speaker build is of very high quality, with aluminum cones in the mids, all fully ported boxes, and a very rugged finish. There is no questioning the quality.
Overall I would strongly recommend these speakers to anyone in the market for a 5.0 system. I was between the Energy RC-Micro 5.1 or these. I am happy I went with these. Smaller satellites can sometimes lack in full range of sound and these definitely dont miss the mark. I had never heard of Jamo before, but had found they were owned by Klipsch, who I trust, and I am glad I took the risk!!

First thing these speakers ship in 1 140lb box. I had to RMA the first set due to ups disliking 140lb boxes.
JAMO is owned by Klipsch and dont let never hearing of them scare you off. Google some of the European reviews.
Now on to the review
For the price I payed these speakers are unbeatable PERIOD.
Finnish and quality are top notch. The dark cherry on gloss black looks great.
Now as far as sound. The top end is a little bright. Mids are smooth. The mid bass is great. These need a sub as the bass rolls off at about 80hz.
I recommend these to anyone at full retail. When they are less than 12 retail they are by far the best 5.0 speakers Ive listened in the price range. I will be purchasing a second set.

this has been by far the best purchase ive made from vanns...ever. i have this speaker package hooked up to my yamaha rx-v665 natural sound receiver---and wow! total improvement from my previous polk audio tsi series speakers---at a much lower cost!
the s606 towers really produce a nicely separated sound---the highs are crisp, the midrange is nice, and the low frequencies from the 8 subwoofer are fantastic. the center channel is a bit on the small side, but produces clear vocals, not tinny at all. the bookshelf speakers are also a bit on the small side, crisp highs, gets the job done. the aesthetics of these speakers are great! definitely wife approved, as they go with just about any decor---mine being moderncontemporary, they blend in nicely with the glossy black fronts and rich apple wood cabinets. this package also comes with carpet spikes for the floorstanders as well as plastic spike protectors for wood floors.
all in all, you absolutely cannot go wrong with this speaker package for the price!

These are my first home theater spekaer set and I am impressed. I looked at many options, including just having bookshelf speakers but am glad I went with the Jamos. I have these paired with a Denon AVR-1911 and the combo works well. I am yet to break the speakers in but the second day I had them, I had a friend over and I put on Iron Man and watched the scene where the convoy with Robert Downey Jr. gets attacked. After the end of the scene the two of us were left speechless and just looked at each other...thats when I knew I made the right choice. I did not buy a Sub yet but the built in sub in the towers do a pretty good job.
I still need to break in these speakers to get the best sound from them but so far I have been impressed. Oh, and the apple color with the piano black finish looks classy.
Finally, Vanns service is excellent...nothing more, nothing less.
