Deep, sharp DLP viewing
Propelled by two innovative technologies, Mitsubishi's WD737 series DLP HDTVs deliver a viewing experience that defines depth and sharpness. First, a DeepField imager continuously analyzes 135 sectors of the video picture in real time, constantly adjusting panel brightness and contrast for optimum settings in all areas of the picture. The result is a dramatic improvement in depth of field and dimensionality. Second, SharpEdge technology offers advanced edge-definition signal processing, enhancing horizontal and vertical edges for stunning picture precision with minimum distortion. Discover a new dimension of DLP viewing.
Smooth, Plush 1080p video performance
Mitsubishi doesn't classify its DLP rear-projection TVs as "HDTVs". Oh, no, they're nothing less than " Home Theater Televisions". This seems an accurate description. Because the Mitsubishi WD-60737 uses DLP display technology, it is able to bring you a vast 60" viewing area that undeniably evokes the presence of a movie theater screen in your living room. But you want more than just an epically sized screen — you want stunning high definition video reproduced with the smoothness of natural motion. The WD-60737 delivers both. First, because some HD content is formatted at 720p or 1080i levels, the WD-60737 uses Plush1080p technology to optimize all HD source material for display on a 1080p-resolution screen. Second, Mitsubishi's Smooth 120Hz video processing dramatically improves the smoothness of transitions between frames for enhanced realism of motion, especially during fast-action sports or movie sequences.
Fact: you just can't have too much color
If you thought Technicolor was out of this world, you might want to sit down for this. The WD-60737 is capable of displaying . . . billions of colors. What's more, special features designed into the WD-60737 give you the control to customize these colors for optimal, lifelike video reproduction. Okay, now, what's this business about billions of colors. Well, the tag team of x.v.Color and Deep Color allows the WD-60737's screen to display such a large number of colors by expanding the supported color gamut (the work of x.v.Color) and by broadening the color spectrum used to represent the graphical image data being sent to your screen (thank you, Deep Color). Further, Deep Color allows for smooth transitions between color shades, thus eliminating color banding and other visual artifacts for a sharper, more lifelike image. Additionally, a 6-color processor enhances the WD-60737's color capacity by producing brighter colors, a wider range of colors, and whiter whites. Finally, giving you the control to customize the image you see, the WD-60737 offers PerfectColor. A full color matrix, this technology lets you adjust the intensity of six separate colors independently of each other and separately for each of the TV's inputs. You get the color you want for all your video sources.
Get ready . . . Get set . . . 3D!
3D is coming! 3D is coming! Currently, some games and movies are being produced with 3D capabilities as options. Also, there is software that can convert standard DVD titles into 3D films. All you need is a TV capable of displaying 3D-video content — as well as a pair of 3D glasses and 3D-formatted video content (sold separately). Hmm, where to look. Aha! Your new WD-60737 from Mitsubishi sports 3D readiness, meaning that you're on your way to the ultimate in immersive video.
Less "noise" means better video
The WD-60737's exclusive Video Noise Reduction uses advanced algorithms to better identify video noise from fine detail and correct the signal rather than distort it. Video noise is caused by distortions in the video signal that make the picture look grainy or snowy. As signal resolutions improve with the introduction of DVD, digital cable/ satellite and HDTV, the loss of sharpness produced by most noise reduction circuits becomes more noticeable. Mitsubishi's advanced Video Noise Reduction delivers signal correction that provides an image that is crystal clear and extraordinarily detailed.
An HDTV for all occasions
Because you don't plan on using your new high definition WD-60737 to enjoy just one type of video, and because you might find yourself watching it at various times of day, Mitsubishi has designed this DLP with four video modes, letting you customize the TV's performance. Choose between Gaming Mode and Natural Mode when switching between graphical video game images and live-action movies and television programs. If you're sitting down to a matinee, use Brilliant and Bright modes to optimize panel performance in situations with high ambient light.
HDMIncredible
Bringing you the absolute best in connectivity, Mitsubishi's WD-60737 features three HDMI connections. HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the only interface in consumer electronics that can carry both uncompressed high-definition (HD) video and uncompressed multi-channel audio in all HD formats including 720p, 1080i and even 1080p. Your incoming media content comes in a variety of sizes, resolutions and formats, and with that in mind, HDMI systems automatically configure to display that content in the most effective format. Since HDMI carries all channels on video and audio, there is only one cable to plug into any HDMI-enabled source and display device. No more complicated cable set-up when installing your home theater system, and no more ugly cable mess behind your components. HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on this single cable. Also, HDMI is fully backward-compatible with DVI. (Please note that a physical adapter, sold separately, is needed to make the conversion from HDMI to DVI.)
Your HD lifeline
High Definition Multimedia Interface, or HDMI, is the only home A/V connection that allows for both Full HD 1080p video and 7.1-channel studio-quality audio to be passes along a single cable. In other words, in order to take full advantage of your home theater’s high definition potential, you need to HDMI cabling to link HD-capable components. It’s only natural that you might have questions regarding how best to outfit your personal HD system. Vann’s sales representatives are here to explain all of your options.
