It's called the Diamond Series for a reason
Mitsubishi isn't just goofing around, dabbling in televisions for the heck of it. They have a staff of engineers that are passionate and serious about creating the highest-quality display possible. Why? Because like you, these guys want their entertainment to wow them for years to come. So they put amazing technology in this series to make the 1080 display have smooth 120hz motion, adjustable tint and deep color, dark detailing to deepen the picture, and incredible contrast for darker blacks and brighter whites. It's even 3D-ready! Futuristic madness? We think not! It's just ready to become the central item of your cutting-edge entertainment set-up.
The beauty begins with 1080p
The WD65835 is a high definition television display powered by Texas Instruments' latest 1080P DLP chip. In combination with Mitsubishi-exclusive light engines, over 2 million pixels of the highest definition are delivered for the most detailed HD picture for a variety of today's and tomorrow's sources. Mitsubishi's Tru1080p™ Processing maintains 1080p high definition signals from beginning to end, with no down conversions. That means that the WD65835 experience the best that high definition has to offer today and be ready to enjoy all of the 1080p sources that are on the horizon.
Smooth 120Hz
All light hold devices, like DLP, LCD, plasma, and CRT have some degree of motion blurring in fast moving images or videos. Smooth 120hz displays more fluid, natural, and smoother fast-moving images, free from motion blur. By unlocking a new level of motion reproduction, fast motion scenes are now much smoother and natural. How? Generally the film of your favorite movie was recorded at 24 frames per second. But television programming runs at 30 frames per second. In order to translate these frame rates in a way that the television can display smoothly, engineers realized that instead of creating math conversions that divide frame rates, they made a display that allows frames to repeat. In other words, each frame is multiplied to fit the 120hz, and thus remains unconverted, evenly extrapolated, and free from motion blur.
Mitsubishi's dynamic color technology
When you read the specs sheet for the WD65835, you'll see a slew of technologies related to color handling and customization. For example, x.v.Color™ is the new standard in high definition color. Then, the x.v.Color™ Wide Color Palette enables more color than ever before for breathtaking realism and vivid, natural colors. Plus, Deep Color™ creates smooth transitions between different shades and eliminates color bands and complements x.v.Color's wide color pallet. Enabled by HDMI 1.3, Deep Color goes beyond previous 8-bit HDTV models. PerfectColor™ is an exclusive Mitsubishi feature that gives you the ability to adjust the intensity of six separate colors independently of each other and separately for every input. Oh, and PerfectColor™ is a full color matrix, much more powerful than a conventional color intensity control with red versus green color balance. Finally, PerfecTint™ is an exclusive Mitsubishi feature that provides the ability to adjust the tint of six separate colors independently of each other and separately for every input.
Mitsubishi's exclusive &mdash DarkDetailer™
DarkDetailer™ is a Mitsubishi-exclusive technology that uses a dynamic aperture system to add depth and texture to the picture. Dark Detailer improves contrast ratio by more than four times, giving you a wide array of colors and shades that are essential for optimal viewing of dark, dramatic scenes while also providing maximum brightness.
4D video noise reduction
Mitsubishi's exclusive 4D video noise reduction uses advanced algorithms to better identify video noise from fine detail and correct the signal rather than distort it. Video noise is caused by distortions in the video signal and makes the picture look grainy or snowy. 4D Video Noise Reduction corrects the image in four dimensions: horizontally, vertically, within each frame and across multiple frames to provide an image that is crystal clear and extraordinarily detailed.
DeepField™ Imager
DeepField&trade Imager constantly adjusts brightness and contrast for optimum settings in all areas of the picture. It can even optimize complex scenes containing both dark and bright areas. DeepField Imager analyzes 135 sectors of the picture in real time. It determines the optimum blend of contrast and brightness settings within the picture using advanced Mitsubishi algorithms. Based on picture analysis it dynamically adjusts for areas that are too high or low in contrast and/or too dark or bright displaying the best balanced picture in every scene.
Easy connections save brain cells
As you get ready to numb your mind with hours of entertainment, you don't really want to stress out over connectivity issues. Mitsubishi's ClearThought® Easy Connect simplifies set-up and day-to-day use. During set up, it recognizes each input as it is plugged in, prompts the user to name it, enters it into the device menu and only shows used inputs. It's so easy, the ultimate relaxation might just enhance brain activity while lounging in your favorite chair. Or at least that's what you should tell everyone.
And, it's ready for 3D!
All Mitsubishi Diamond 1080p DLP HDTV's are "3D Ready." This feature allows you the ability to be immersed in your favorite video game, movie or sporting event. As more content becomes available in 3D, this functionality will develop into one of the most exciting HDTV experiences. Connectivity made easy!
The input options are ready for just about anything
Wired IR inputs provides the ability to send remote control signals from external systems into the TV without the clutter of stick-on IR blasters. NetCommand® IR provides the user with a true one-remote control home theater system for analog products. NetCommand IR® provides on-screen control of analog-connected products such as your AV receiver, DVD player, satellite receiver, and VCR. To set it up, you simply "tell" the television what products are connected and "teach it" their IR (infrared) commands. The TV will then take control, eliminating the coffee table clutter of remote controls. It's capable of learning most IR remote control codes from standard home theater products, rather than relying on a preprogrammed library of codes. Plus, you can view photos on your Mitsubishi TV in startling HD clarity. Easily connect a USB thumb drive or USB Card Reader. And, and, and. . . you even get a front HDMI 1.3 input for easy connection to HD sources such as video games and video cameras with one simple cable.
Let's ponder the HDMI wonders
HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) is an uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface. HDMI provides an interface between an audio/video source, such as a set-top box, DVD player, or A/V receiver and an A/V monitor, such as a digital television (DTV), over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced or high definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It also supports all ATSC formats.
