It's Not Called Plush1080p For Nothing
This is the ultimate in 65" digital rear projector TV--16:9 widescreen, 1080p (1920 x 1080 pixel) resolution, combined NTSC/ATSC/QAM Air/Cable tuner, digital cable ready with CableCARD, and HDMI and FireWire (IEEE 1394) digital inputs. Mitsubishi's WD65831 has advanced digital processing and the latest 1080p DLP (Digital Light Processing) chip to produce exceptional picture quality and unsurpassed detail. Several cutting-edge signal processing technologies help get the most out of this refined optical system. Mitsubishi uses a high speed video processor called Plush1080p that upconverts 1080i signals to 1080p producing four times the resolution of traditional line doublers. HDTVs can display any video signal. For a 1080p HDTV, even the high quality 720p and 1080i HDTV signals being broadcast need to be reformatted in order to fill the screen with a sharp, clear picture. Mitsubishi developed Plush1080p technology to do just that--with the highest quality possible. It scales the picture precisely, with minimal side effects. And 1080i, currently the most common form of HDTV signal, is spectacular at 1080p. The conversion is precise, resulting in previously unachievable detail and clarity. 4D Video Noise Reduction creates smooth yet detailed images. And Tru1080p processes the highest resolution HDTV signals in their native format.
Better Than Detergent For Brighter Colors
Mitsubishi's exclusive 6-Color Light Engine provides brighter colors, a wider range of colors, whiter whites, and eliminates ring-around-the-collar! But really folks, this proprietary light engine works by generating yellow, cyan, and magenta directly, rather than the traditional method of mixing combinations of red, green, and blue to create them, resulting in picture quality that adds realism to yellow sunlight, blue skies, and crimson sunsets. This more efficient process gives you a brighter overall picture as well as brighter individual colors. PerfectColor, another exclusive Mitsubishi technology, allows you to adjust the intensity of six separate colors independently of each other and separately for every input. PerfectColor is a full-color matrix, much more powerful than a conventional color intensity control with red versus green color balance.
Don't Mess With The Best
Mitsubishi's Tru1080p Processing maintains 1080p high definition signals as 1080p from beginning to end. All 1080p DVI-I, HDMI, IEEE 1394, and 1080p broadcast signals are passed through with no down-conversions. The advancements of 1080p DLP technology for HDTV viewing deliver over 2 million pixels to you on-screen for a full and true 1920 x 1080 resolution. With Mitsubishi 1080p DLP HDTVs, you can experience the best that high definition has to offer today and be ready to enjoy all of the 1080p sources that are on the horizon. For a 1080p HDTV, even the high quality 720p and 1080i HDTV signals being broadcast need to be reformatted in order to fill the TV screen with a sharp, clear picture. Mitsubishi's 4D Video Noise Reduction adds an extra dimension to picture performance. Advanced algorithms filter video noise more efficiently yielding clean, crisp images. In short, Plush1080p and 4D Video Noise Reduction technology make everything else look better on a 1080p HDTV.
Simplify Your Life
Instead of multiple audio/video inputs and outputs (as many as 13 cables for video and 7.1-channel audio) once required for home theater components like DVD players and cable and satellite boxes, HDMI connections and FireWire digital home technology eliminate all but one cable between each component. Mitsubishi has put an end to the confusion, poor quality, and unsightliness of yesterday's audio and video connections. HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) is an uncompressed, all-digital audio/video connection. It provides an interface between an audio/video source, like a set-top box, DVD player, or A/V receiver and an A/V monitor, such as a digital television (DTV), over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It supports all ATSC formats. FireWire, also known as IEEE 1394 and i.LINK, is a revolutionary digital connection that consolidates picture, sound, and control signals into one cable. Mitsubishi's ClearThought Easy Connect simplifies set-up and day-to-day use. During set-up, it recognizes each input as it is plugged in, prompts the user to name it, enters it into the Device Menu, and only shows used inputs. Components can even be connected in sequence; and, as an added benefit, the control signal connections make the entire system easier to use. Get the Mitsubishi WD65831 and you lose--the tangle of yesterday's connection technology.
On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!
This HDTV is primed and ready for some serious viewing . . . right out of the box! The WD65831 is plug-and-play ready, able to descramble a cable provider's one-way digital signals with the help of a CableCARD security module. Eliminate the hassle and suspect picture quality associated with cable boxes. With Mitsubishi's Digital Cable Ready (DCR) HDTVs, you can connect the cable directly from the wall to your set--without going through a cable box--and receive all your cable channels, including premium channels. DCR TVs have a slot on the back for a CableCARD, a device that descrambles subscribed channels. With the CableCARD, available from local cable TV companies, the TV's internal tuner can tune directly to the subscribed cable channels, eliminating the need for a box. When a digital cable TV channel is received on a DCR TV, it is decoded and remains a digital video signal all the way to the screen. Standard definition digital channel signals are upconverted by the advanced processing capability of the WD65831, giving them near-HDTV picture quality. The resulting image has the best possible quality, with maximum bandwidth, and minimal noise and distortion.
The Brighest Bulb In The Box
Mitsubishi's TurboLight180 has pushed lamp technology to its limit! This unique, patented optical design focuses light more efficiently on the teeny tiny mirrors that make up the DLP chip. More efficient focusing means better reflection, which translates into a brighter picture. The 180 watt TurboLight used in the WD65831 produces a brighter image without increasing the amount of power consumed or heat produced; therefore it does not compromise the life or performance of the lamp itself. Mitsubishi's exclusive TurboLight technology directs more light to the DLP chip surface resulting in a brighter, more vivid on-screen image.
