HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface)

HDMI is the first industry-supported, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video connection. HDMI provides the best interface between a DVD player and compatible products. When matched with a compatible component, this single interconnecting cable combines: Multi-channel audio, uncompressed digital video, intercommunication between devices and simple control protocols. This single cable connection ensures that all signals remain in their pure digital form and secure by use of High Definition Copy Protection (HDCP) regardless of signal output resolution. The LNS4095D features two HDMI connections.

You can easily connect your favorite compatible MP3 player to your Samsung LCD television and control your music right from your TV. Easy controls and interface allow you to plug n' play your music while having a special event or just enjoying music in your living room. Side A/V ports provide easy connections for a camcorder, digital camera, or any other digital device with no hassles. You also get a component video input (480i/480p/720p/1080i), S-Video and composite video inputs, a sound monitor out, and an optical digital audio output. CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp)

Every TV's final destination on the visual side should be 100 percent coverage of the NTSC standard in the color map. Typical LCD TVs can only cover 72-percent of this area. Even some CRT TVs can only cover 76-percent of the area of the NTSC standard. LCD TV with new 92-percent backlight units, unlike other conventional LCD TVs which use normal fluorescent lights with limited color coverage, can show the world of breathlessly vivid colors. Colors using the new BLU are so deep, so natural, and so vivid that red becomes more reddish, green color gets far greener. And the result is amazing 92-percent coverage of the NTSC color standard, a superior color gamut than other LCDs.

High Contrast, Wide Angles

Samsung's PVA screen enables brighter whites, deeper blacks and every shade in between. Its high contrast ratio (6000:1 dynamic contrast ratio/500 cd/m2) provides an abundant palette of perfect colors. Left side, right side or upside-down, whatever your LCD TV's location, Samsung's solution allows you to see any display clearly due to the 178-degree wide-viewing angle. The LNS4095D's 1920 (H) x 1080 (V) pixel resolution LCD screen is HD-grade, with a built-in image scaler to handle inputs from a variety of digital and analog audio/video sources. Samsung's DNIe (Digital Natural Image engine) dramatically improves the picture by enhancing the contrast, detail and white balance while reducing noise. A 3D Y/C digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes over time, to reduce edge image artifacts while improving transition detail. Progressive scan technology eliminates the flicker that you see on traditional, interlaced scanning TVs, while an 8ms response time minimizes the blurring of moving video.

SRS TruSurround XT is a patented SRS technology that solves the problem of playing 5.1 multichannel content over two speakers. TruSurround delivers a compelling, virtual surround sound experience through the two-speaker internal playback system.

Other Useful Features

The LNS4095D not only looks and sounds great, it's also a pleasure to use. A built-in digital tuner (ATSC) means you don't need a set top box. The set's V-Chip system allows the blocking of rated TV and movie programs determined by a parent to contain objectionable content. Auto channel search helps you find those favorites, and picture-in-picture (PIP) enables convenient simultaneous viewing of TV programs and video or PC sources. There's a variable sleep timer to turn the TV off in varying time intervals, while an auto volume leveler keeps audio volume consistent during channel changing.
