Keepin' It Simple

This powered subwoofer will seamlessly integrate with the rest of your audio system. The amplifier panel has both speaker-level and line-level inputs. The line-level inputs are great for connecting your subwoofer to a pre-amp, single processor, line-level crossover, or receiver with a pre-amp level output. The speaker-level jacks will connect directly to your speaker outputs on any amplifier, integrated amplifier, or receiver. Their variable 50Hz-200 Hz crossover allows the sub to match with both small and large speakers and the acoustics of a room while the phase adjustment switch lets you to reverse the subwoofer's output signal 180 degrees to correct for any possible mismatch between the subwoofer and your main speakers/amplifier. If you decide to hook-up your sub with a speaker line-level connection, the lower bass from will be removed from the speakers and sent to the subwoofer, enabling them to do a better job with the higher frequencies. By utilizing this method you'll have a bi-amplified system, gaining improved power and headroom for your entire system. While hookup is easy, working with this subwoofer is just as simple. The volume control allows you to easily balance the output from the subwoofer to the main speakers/amplifier in your system. The auto on/off power makes it easy to play it and forget about it.

This stylish subwoofer is able to accurately reproduce a wide spectrum of material with a frequency response of 36-120 Hz (+/- dB). The 10" (8.2" piston diameter) driver is engineered with a coated fiber cone and inverted dust cap to assure long-term reliability while a large 2" high-temp copper voice coil is specifically matched with a 40 ounce magnet to provide that dynamic bass you can feel right down to your bones! To separate this Velodyne subwoofer from others, the front-firing bass-reflect design of this acoustically neutral LDP speaker minimizes the distortion created in other port cabinets, while maximizing bass impact. This also makes it great for custom installation so you can make it work with your system however you want. And, since its magnetically shielded, you'll get addition flexibility in placement.

Protection Circuitry

When driven hard, many amplifiers clip the output, distort the signal, and don't drive the cone to full excursion, or the distance a driver travels to create an audio frequency. The extra strength of the driver is basically wasted. This results in a subwoofer that is pushed beyond its limits and won't play up to its potential. And, what output the unit DOES have is distorted or otherwise sub-par. The weakest link of the chain brings the quality of the whole system down to that level. However, because of the circuitry in this subwoofer you'll get maximum performance with the greatest reliability; it's protected against overheating and excessive drop in power line voltage to help achieve the maximum allowable performance.
