Went with this unit as its color matched my cabinet and other units as well as the capacity of this unit. Didnt feel the need for battery backup so that wasnt an issue.
I have a 60 Plasma, Xbox 360, Wii, DirecTV HD-DVR, Denon 3311, Blu-Ray Player, and a few other items plugged into this box. When watching TV, Movie, playing Video Game, my items only use 40 of the capacity of this thing.
Dont worry about adding up watt usage as they rarely use the full watt potential on each item.
This unit is flat out awesome, great investment and great warranty. It will cut the power and destroy the box before any damage can be done to your components. Must have for ANY home theater!
Best part, when I first got it the lights were real bright and was annoying. Later learned by pushing one button on the panel you can dim the lights or turn them off completely which Ive done even when the unit is on...awesome!!

I have 2 of these. Most people buy this to protect their AV equipment, which in most cases it does quite well. I bought these to improve the sound of my moderately high-end audio systems. The only thing I don't plug into this is my DVR, reason is if I have a power outage and the cable is still operational, I want to be able to continue to record so the DVR and its external ESATA HDD both go into a separate UPS. Everything else goes into the H10. I really do hear a difference and its all for the better. I have not compared the H10 to anything else other than a regular UPS so I can't say that is is better or worse than, say, a Belkin or a Monster. But the sound is much improved over a standard UPS or just plugging components into a wall.

I have had my home theater gear plugged into the H10 now for a couple of weeks and the thing just works. Its nothing fancy, but the price and features on this unit beat the hell out of anything else I compared it to.
I have recently upgraded my home theater gear - new AVR, new fronts, new center, new sub - and decided it was time to invest in some kind of power distribution unit that would offer more than just surge protection.
I looked at the usual suspects from Monster, Panamax, and Belkin, but none of their units included the voltage regulation feature at this price point, if at all. In my home, the AC kicks on & off frequently for 9 to 10 months out of the year. This activity draws short but significant surges that I feel could damage my equipment over time. The AVR feature, alone, sold me on the H10.
I also considered the H15, which has the better information panel, but I did not feel that level of information was necessary on a unit like this. If I were purchasing a UPS unit, then I would want that. The LEDs provide enough information for me, though they are a tad bright even at their dimmest setting. Thankfully, APC gives you the option of just turning the lights off completely.
The unit also allows you to set a range for voltage regulation. So, depending on how consistent or poor the power delivery is to your theater, you can set the parameters for when the regulator steps in to stabilize the flow to all of your connected components..
The unit does make a clicking noise whenever the voltage regulator kicks in. It does not bother me when I am using my components, but it might bother some. I can hear it click from about 50 feet away when all of my components are off. My theater is on a second floor, away from bedrooms, and, therefore, the clicking is not a problem for me. However, if you sleep in the same room or in a room close to where the unit resides, the clicking could be an issue.
The unit also allows for sequenced delay for turning on components. This works nicely, particularly if you have a separate amplifier or a subwoofer with a high-power amplifier connected to this unit.
The plugs in the rear are plentiful and nicely spaced. If you have wall-wart plugs, however, you may run out of space quickly.
I highly recommend this unit if you are looking for a power conditioner or power center. The feature-set is excellent and the price makes this a terrific value!

Very good power conditioner for a reasonable price. Seems better than the Belkin Pure AV stuff I have used. Very easy to tell what is going on with your power and I like that it compensates for under and over voltage. I have a pretty decent system 20k and I trust it is protected.

I bought this as a chirstmas gift. so i have not personally used it. i did test it out when first received and all seemed to be in working order. its nice looking and was heavy. which is always a good sign. When i plugged it in, it behave as expected. The delivery was very quick. i could have got it for a few dollars less elsewhere, but not with the the same promised delivery time. All in all, a very good transaction. and it looks, feels and behaves like a quality product.

The APC H10 arrives securely packed with a clearly written manual. All markings on the unit are legible. The level of illumination of the LEDs is user configurable within a reasonable range, although even at the lowest setting, the blue lights are clearly visible in a darkened room.
The unit shows what proportion of its capacity -1000 watts - is being drawn through it by connected devices. This is particularly useful since it is easy to miscalculate the actual consumption of various units. As an example, with my TV - 100 watts, processor -100 watts, a 3 channel amp -200 watts per channel and surround amp -100 watts per channel all on, the actual draw shown by the H10 is 40 - 400 watts. This tells me that I am well within the safe range of the electrical circuit handling the load .
In the heat of the summer, the electric company frequently lowers the voltage supplied to my home. While I may not be aware of it, the H10 certainly is and it increases the voltage as necessary in order to protect my equipment. This action is noted by an orange LED and an audible click.
When the supplied power no longer requires action, the LED goes out with the same soft click noise. While some have criticized the audible signal, I am glad to be kept aware of whats going on and do not find it troublesome.
While I do not have a flat panel TV, my CRT set has been adjusted to show HD channels from my satellite provider. With the TV connected through the H10, there is a noticeable sharpening and brightening of the image.
However, at its most fundamental level, the H10 acts to protect your TV, Home Theater and Music System from the very real dangers of power supply fluctuations up to and including lightening strikes.
Given the total cost of the components attached to it, this one-time cost is, as far as I am concerned , an important one to accept.
While the typical user may never use some of the more esoteric features, such as timed delay starting for selected components or changing the voltage range, the protection afforded by the unit is well worth the expense.

Im very happy with my APC H-10 Power Conditioner. Ive been using APC for surge protectors and UPS for years as a part of previous employment, so this unit serves to confirm their quality reputation. I also use an APC Back UPS 550 for my computer that saved it along with my peripherals from a very bad storm that fried my previous television and other equipment having run-of-the-mill surge protectors on them.
After hooking the product up to my AV equipment including a 46 inch plasma TV, TiVo, Wii, Blu-Ray, amplifier, cable modem, and Wi-Fi router, I noticed a small improvement in the video on my TV. I have already seen the Automatic Voltage Regulator, my primary reason for the purchase, in action. It occasionally corrects a high voltage condition in the power coming into my house. Given the sensitivity on high-end electronics, I feel at ease knowing that my equipment is now protected from this condition. Additionally, I have my coaxial cable for the internet and television running through the H-10 to help clean up the signal.
I would recommend this product to anyone who has valuable AV equipment and either suspects trouble with the power in your building, lives near power lines or someone who wants piece of mind knowing your equipment is protected from power surges or brown-outs.

The package arrived well padded. No damage to the box. Had it setup in 10 minutes. The main reason for this purchase was the horrible power surges in our neighborhood and the multiple random power outages for no reason. No bad weather outside. The delayed power on section is another great feature that I am using for my gaming console and stereo. Extra bonuses are all the indicator lights that are really bright,but can be dimmed when watching a movie. Overall a well designed product and great insurance against poor power. I was considering the model above this one the 15 but instead went with this one. Well I have no regrets this conditioner is able to power my entire system even the subs and I still have headroom. The voltage regulation is the big seller for me and I believe all other companys need to offer this in their products just to keep up with APC and the various others who offer voltage regulation. I have owned this unit for about three months. The setup takes a few minutes. The unit automatically maintains the correct voltage range. The status display easily configurable can be set from ostentatiously to subdued. Unit is extremely quiet. I can predict when the unit corrects the power as I can hear when my geothermal system turns on. Immediately the H10 kicks in.
The price at Vanns plus the very very fast shipping makes me a very happy owner..

Device works very well and as advertised.
I was concerned however about the packaging of the device from Vanns. There was no packing inside the Vanns container and the APC packgage whichincidentally was extremelly well packaged,thank goodness, was wandering loose inside the VANNs box.
Other than that I am very pleased with the price and performance of the unit and will probably buy a second unit for my second TV in the house.

I now own two of these units, each for my two LCD Samsung TVs, and associated components. With line filtering/conditioning, and surge protection, its a must for protecting your investment. If you live in an area with fluctuating line voltage, or in an area where you might have frequent lightning storms, I would recommend getting one.
The unit gives many outlets to plug into for all you components, plus coax cable and phone line protection. Unit display can be dimmed, or off for bedroom use, and makes no humm.
Dont be lured into cheap surge protectors, as these might be fine for things you dont care about, they cant handle a large surge, and they dont condition the incoming line voltage.
This is APCs business, and they have the experience, and make a great product.

The bottom line is that it works perfectly. I had always assumed I know what they say about assume that I had lower than expected power, but to my suprise the conditioner either shows the power is right on the money or that it is trimming the voltage. I ahd previously just used the power strip type of line conidtioners which are just there to blow if too high a voltage is sensed. This one actually corrects the voltage no matter if it is low or high.

I purchased the APC H10 from Vanns because they had the best price I could find on the interweb. Not only did I get a good price but I also got quality service from Vanns! I purchased the APC H10 in a hurry and had little time to compare products. I was familiar with APC products from past work in the IT field and was comfortable with the brand. I had a Monster brand power center for my home theater set up prior to this purchase. After a few power outages all in one day the Monster product ceased to work. I wish I had purchased the APC H10 originally. It is massive! You can feel the quality as you unpack it. Heavy. Lots of outlets. Easy to set up and understand. I live in an area that has frequent outages, brown outs, and spikes. I can see the H10 doing its job right on the front panel. You can even turn the indicator lights off if you like. Nice touch. My home theater system consists of a sharp LCD TV, Apple Mac Mini, 2 TB hard drive, wireless router, and cable modem. It is a simple set up, but each component could easily be ruined by the kind of power I have here. One component down means no entertainment. No worries now. And none of the clicking I have read so much about. THis is a nice quality power center. Money well spent.

Iam in the process of upgrading my home theater. After suffering a power shortage that shorted out our big screen TV I vowed that it would never happen again. I purchased the. APC H10 Power conditioner and it has already paid for itself with protection. I have noticed that the LCDs are easy to read from across the room and I can be constantly updated as to what the power is doing whether it is low or spiking and that the unit is working to keep it level. It was extremely easy to set up and hook up and I just wish that I had done this a lot earlier. I am very confident now that any power problems will be averted with this unit connected to my home theater equipment.

Ive had this unit for a couple of weeks. Ive spent a few thousand dollars on my Home Theater setup and decided the surge protector I was using wasnt enough.
I like this unit because of the number of outlets as I needed more, the filtering and fairly low pass through voltage it allows. The front display that shows load and function is very nice. There are several brightness settings you can choose from for the LED brightness including completely off.
After hooking it up I noticed that my sub sounded clearer and seemed to have a little more volume. This of course is completely subjective. All in all I am very pleased with this unit and the protection it will provide should I need it.
