Vast, versatile storage
With 22.4 cu. ft. of total storage space in your kitchen, you're going to need plenty of storage versatility to keep all your tasty treats in order . . . the kind of versatility offered by LG's LBC22520. Let's take this bottom-mount fridge's refrigerator-door storage options as a point in case: LG's unique Design-A-Door flexible shelving system allows you to slide the five gallon-size door bins both horizontally and vertically for almost endless organization possibilities. In addition, the bins are also dishwasher safe for easy clean up of spills. The remainder of the 15.5 cu. ft. of refrigerator space and 6.9 cu. ft. of freezer space is distributed across multiple shelving and storage option in both compartments, including four split tempered-glass refrigerator shelves, a full-width wire freezer basket, and a wire freezer shelf.
Multi-Air
Food lasts longer if it is stored at cooler temperatures. Refrigerators keep food cold and fresh by circulating cold air throughout the refrigerator compartment. Therefore, better circulation of cold air will keep food more consistently cold and, thence, fresher. Your LBC22520 features the Multi-Air-Flow cooling system that uses vents located on each shelf to distribute cold air evenly, resulting in fresher, longer-lasting food.
Like the Pleistocene in fast-forward — IcePlus™
The ability to freeze foods is one of the major feats of modern technology. Freezing foods allows seasonal treats like fruits or vegetables grown in your garden, venison you've harvested yourself or other foods to be kept on hand year-round without risk of short-term spoilage. Freezing can, however, be hard on foods, especially slow freezing. The slower the rate of freezing, the more time water molecules have to grow into larger ice crystals, ultimately rupturing the cell walls of you favorite fruits or meats. Recognizing this possible risk, LG has designed your LBC22520 with IcePlus™ technology. IcePlus produces an accelerated freezing cycle for up to 24 hours to help lock in freshness, prevent damage from freezing and to produce up to six pounds of ice. Megatherium will feel right at home.
Your produce will have it good
In order to maintain their freshness, and therefore, their scrumptiousness, your fruits and vegetables need a little TLC. Further, each has slightly different needs for stay crisp and tasty. Vegetables, for example, tend to stay fresher in high-humidity environments, while fruits prefer low-humidity climes. Your LG LBC22520 knows this, and as a result includes two adjustable-humidity crisper drawers that keep your produce perfectly palatable.
Shhh!
The shock of the sound of your old refrigerator kicking on might have been great for curing the hiccups, but when it came to any peace of mind, the ensuing drone was enough to drive you right out of the kitchen. With the intention of keeping your kitchen stylish, practical, and quiet, LG has designed the LBC22520ST with a LoDecibel system — featuring cyclo-pentane foam door insulation &mash; reducing the fridge's ambient sound to a 42dB murmur.
A STAR for efficiency
Seeking to meet your demand to reduce energy use and preserve the environment, LG has made sure that the LBC22520ST meets the U.S. government's standard for ENERGY STAR qualification. What does the ENERGY STAR qualification mean? ENERGY STAR is a government-backed program helping businesses and individuals protect the environment through superior energy efficiency. This white bottom freezer is a very efficient machine. Specs say 22.4 cubic ft, but it feels much roomier than our previous 25 cubic ft side by side. Got a really good price. a whole lot of good refrigerators out there, but this one really is the smart choice for the money.
