Three Words: Con-Vec-Tion
Any last words, Uneven Cooking or Heating? How about from you, Long Cooking Time? Thanks to the convection oven cooking offered by the 0.9 cubic foot, 900 Watt R820BK from Sharp, the days of uneven cooking or ridiculously long cooking times are over. While you can still use traditional microwave cooking to heat your food, the R820BK also gives you the option of using Grill 2 convection cooking. Convection microwave ovens differ from more traditional microwaves because they circulate heated air in the oven around your dishes. This constant movement of warm air results not only in more even cooking or heating, but also warms food faster by preventing the formation of an insulating layer of cooler air around foods. Even better, the circulation of warm air allows foods to be cooked at lower-than-traditional temperatures. Additionally, the Grill 2 system utilizes double grills which emit radiant heat both above and below your food. The R820BK may not do the cooking for you, but it'll have you cooking better and with more ease in the push of a button.
Put on your apron
You may have once thought that your passion for baking and your microwave oven were incompatible. . . that is, before you purchased your R820BK. This convection microwave oven's CompuBake function automatically creates golden french fries, crispy biscuits and chewy brownies.
When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie. . .
While CompuBake is ideal for cooking homemade pizzas in the R820BK, for times when you can't make a fresh pizza, CompuPizza is there. CompuPizza automatically bakes, browns and crisps frozen refrigerator or microwave pizzas without preheating.
Put another shrimp on the barbe
Sometimes the weather and your appetite don't exactly accommodate one another. Some nasty storm clouds blow in and, POP!, bursts your I'm-gonna-cook-on-the-grill-tonight bubble. That's okay, you can give your grill a rest, stay dry and enjoy grilled meats inside with the R280BK in your kitchen. The CompuGrill function automatically grills steaks, burgers, fish and poultry without drying them.
Even the Grinch will eat this Who-roast-beast
Your new R820BK convection microwave oven doesn't rest with special baking, pizza and grilling features. Oh no, it'll handle a roast, too. CompuRoast automatically roasts eye of round, chicken, turkey and pork loin to perfection.
Good old microwave cooking
The versatility offered by the R820BK's convection cooking function and specialty cooking modes are great for preparing meals, but when all you need is to heat something up quick, you might want regular old microwave cooking. The R820BK delivers. CompuCook features preset times and power levels for microwaving all your favorite foods, such as casseroles, dinner plates, beverages, rolls, muffins, frozen entrees, baked potatoes, fresh and frozen vegetables, ground meat and fish and seafood.
Good-bye frost
Hey, sometimes selecting the right setting to defrost an item is a tricky operation. With this in mind, Sharp has designed the R820BK with CompuDefrost. This defrost function includes preset modes for defrosting a variety of common frozen foods, like ground meat, steaks, chops, fish, chicken pieces, roasts and casseroles. You'll be ready to cook that dish in no time.

We owned a microwave just like this one for 16 yrs, when it was time for a new one, we just could not live without the same kind, microwaveconvection oven, and the new one even has two grills, top and bottom which we just love. I highly recommend this unit, small but does a great job on all types of cooking.

I wish that I had put this in a cabinet and not a double wall oven. I use this more than my oven now! Bakes, grills, reheats everything perfectly! No more boiling pizza, soggy crusts, or cold food. Cant recommend this enough.

Ive only had my Sharp microwave convection oven for about 2 weeks, but so far I am very happpy with it. Its easy to use and does a great job. My cake was nice and moist, and the fries I cooked came out crisp but not burnt. I havent done a lot of cooking in my oven mostly reheating, but Im happy with it.
