36 jets, 4 steel arms, 1 optimum sensor
While you might be expecting the leader of an android army from the latest sci-fi flick, what we are, in fact, discussing is a dishwasher. But, by no means any ordinary dishwasher. KitchenAid's KUDS30IVSS built-in dishwasher combines three technologies and design components that together serve up advanced washing performance. First, an Optimum wash sensor measures the conditions within the wash tub, and then automatically adjusts the wash cycle's water level and temperature for maximum cleaning efficiency and performance. Second, a ProScrub wash option uses 36 individual spray jets located at the back of the dishwasher to offer targeted cleaning for stubborn messes. Finally, four stainless steel wash arms spray water to ten precisely angled locations to clean dishes with a 25% improvement over similar dishwashers.
A little interior design
Every aspect of a dishwasher's design plays an important role in determining its level of performance. Ensuring that the KUDS30IVSS delivers nothing less than advanced washing performance, Kitchen aid has outfitted this dishwasher with multiple high-performance interior design features. First, a stainless steel wash tub resists wear and corrosion and, in combination with the Heated Dry option, retains heat longer for drying performance that bests similar dishwashers by up to 44%. Third, a dual-rack system not only accommodates up to 14 place settings, but also sports an adjustable upper rack that can be raised or lowered by two inches, making room for larger dishes on either the upper or lower racks. Finally, eliminating the need to pre-rinse all your dishes, a built-in, 4-blade hard-food disposer effectively grinds down food particles for easy drainage from the machine.
"Clean" is only the beginning
You have a choice. You could pull clean dishes out of your dishwasher. Or you could unload sanitized dishes. KitchenAid's KUDS30IVSS makes the decision easy. An NSF-certified Sanitize wash option raises the temperature of the final rinse water to a level that kills up to 99% of microbes without damaging your dishes. When it comes to clean, choose sanitary.
The efficiency of ENERGY STAR
Seeking to meet your demand to reduce energy use and preserve the environment, KitchenAid has made sure that the KUDS30IVSS meets the U.S. government's standard for ENERGY STAR qualification. What does the ENERGY STAR qualification mean? ENERGY STAR is a government-backed program helping businesses and individuals protect the environment through superior energy efficiency. For the family or homeowner, energy efficient choices can reduce energy consumption and expenses by up to one third while resulting in similar savings of greenhouse gas emissions, without sacrificing features, style or comfort. ENERGY STAR helps you make the energy efficient choice. When a product boasts the ENERGY STAR qualification, this means the product meets stringent government standards set by the EPA and US Department of Energy for conserving both energy and the environment. So whether you are concerned for the environment, your pocket book or both, this appliance helps ensure both are given an easier load to bear.

We purchased this dishwasher for our new home, and it went really well with the other brands of appliances we chose. We had a Kitchenaid dishwasher in the past, so that influenced our decision to purchase another one. This dishwasher has a lot of great features and we liked all of the options. A good dishwasher for the price.

The dishwasher is operating OK. Not great! It may be due to the hard water here in Missoula, but we always get stains on the inside of the dishwasher after washing and also on some of the plates and mugs. We have tried a bit of vinegar and the Glisten that VANNS recommended to us and it helps a little. So, keeping the inside free of stains is difficult.
We would prefer the cutlery basked to be in the frond for easy access rather than on the side.

I installed this dishwasher myself and it was really easy to do. The machine is quiet just like the salesman said and it washes and dries so much better than the old dishwasher. Its nice not to have to wash the dishes before I wash the dishes.

After using this dishwasher for almost two months now, I am still amazed at how quiet it is. I dont tend to use all the cycles, but the basic wash cycle does a great job. I dont usually hand rinse my dishes and they all come out super clean. I havent used the adjustable racks yet but know that theyll come in handy when I use those big pots and pans for holiday meals.
So quiet we thought something was wrong (February 11, 2010)

We recently purchased the above Kitchenaid Dishwasher at Vanns and are extremely satisfied with the performance of this machine.
When we first started using it ,I had to get up several times as we couldnt hear it running from 12 ft away.
Its large capacity and power scrub cycles make it an excellent fit in our lifestyle, and the price was fantastic..
Our product advisor,Witt Olds, was very knowlegable on rhe various brands and models of dishwashers and helped us in picking our a brand and model that would work forus.
Kitchen Aid has a long history of being performance tested and reliable. Just like Vanns
