We have a two year old Maytag Bravos washer model MVWX500XW0. After two years the transmission died because of a bad bearing. AE Service came out and told us it would be around $375 to replace the transmission. The new transmission would only be warrantied for 90 days. My wife and I will never buy another Maytag washing machine. Their customer service people really couldn't care less so don't bother calling them.

A newly designed transmission with plastic gearing and a actuator to shift it, Junk! Transmissions have been failling under the 1st year warranty. The supply house is out and on backorder because Maytag Whirlpool never tested this POS and be prepaired to go to the laundary mat, because that replacement trany is probally defective right off the shelf! When the tech contacts whirlpool they say that the old mfg trans. needs to be exhaughsted before new ones come in. In 3weeks time I am waiting for the third transmission, hoping this one will work. Good luck if you buy this. If you own it ,sell it. Wait a few years untill they work the bugs out of this one. Stick with your standard direct drive, non digital, Whirlpool. Please do not blame the sales man or store you purchased this POS from. They only know what is told to them by adds and the mfg.
