A new way to agitate

The WHRE5550KWW features GE's HydroWave wash system with the Infusor. The oscillating action of the Infusor gently pulls fabric through the water using a 360-degree motion. My washer is only 1.5 yrs old and I now have to replace my motor for the SECOND time. I am very disappointed with GE and this washer. The first time the motor went I had to call GE and it was a total nightmare, there customer service department is NOT friendly, they made an appointment for a repair guy to come to the house and then never showed up. It was 2 weeks before I had a running washer now after 5 months the motor is shot again. THE WORST washer.. Maytag here I come!!!!

I bought this washer less than a year ago and have regretted it every time I do laundry. I have to use the highest water level setting and the heavy duty option on even the smallest of loads, and they still dont come out clean. You can actually see the grime it leaves on your clothes, especially your darks. I hate this washer!! As soon as I can afford to replace it, its gone!!

This is the worst washer I have ever owned. It does not clean your clothes. It miscalculates the amount of water for the load, which they have to be small loads or they wont even see water. It is noisy and you have to be sure the clothes are loaded properly and you have to add the second rinse otherwise the clothes will still have soap on them. And even with a second rinse I have ended up putting the clothes through a second wash to get the residue off them! You have to babysit this washer to even hope to get clean clothes. Do not buy! GE will trade out for a lesser model or ask you to pay more money to upgrade!

This machine is the worst purchase in my life im 47. I have a family of 6 and we are now taking our clothes to a laundry matt.after two months of insanity..im disabled and I cry now at the thought of having to leave in the snow to wash my clothes or hand wash them.... this machine GE whre5550k2ww callosal doesnt wash the clothes PERIOD..i cant just wash 5 pieces of clothing at a time. which is what we started doing. the washer was going none stop in our home trying to get our clothes cleaned and rinsed..then we all started itching .and then we got our utility bills..this machine should be recalled..Ill tell you this. for what we are going through. our intire family will stay away from all GE products from this day forward...

It only uses a small amount of water, but the GE Washer WHRE5550KWW does a very poor job of cleaning clothes, because for a good part of the wash cycle a lot of the clothes dont even get wet. The online videos are NOT accurate. They show about one-third as many clothes in the washer as GE claims it should handle.

They claim the GE WHRE5550KWW washer is 4.1 cu. ft. colossal capacity, but thats only if you fill it according to the GEs directions. Then it doesnt clean the clothes. It does an okay job if you use the super capacity setting and then put in a very, very small wash load, and even that doesnt clean very well.

The rinse cycle doesnt get all the soap and fabric softener out, unless you use the 2-rinse cycle setting. They tell you in the owners manual after you buy it that, if you use the double rinse setting, its not considered energy efficient. But its certainly NOT energy efficient to only be able to put one-third as many clothes in it and then have to run it 3 times as often, because youll use 3 times as much water and 3 times as much electricity when you do.

Ive had my GE WHRE5550KWW washer less than a week. I called GE to complain. They said they will NOT take it back, nor would they replace it with another model. The only thing they offered was to have a service technician come out and make sure its working as designed. But its the flawed design thats the real problem!

This washer just DOES NOT clean clothes well. I would discourage anyone from buying a GE model WHRE5550KWW washer.
