Find Yourself
In today's world, people are constantly on the move. With this increasing mobility, people are relying more and more on personal navigation devices, like the TomTom GO, as a principal tool to get them from point to point. Getting your location or directions to your destination has never been simpler or more stress-free. Global Positioning System (GPS) technology is what's making this possible. GPS is already factory-installed on many vehicle models and is now being incorporated into devices as small mobile phones and watches. As an information resource, GPS signals are available free, worldwide, courtesy of the U.S. government. Using illuminated maps and voice-guidance systems, GPS navigation devices are an intrinsic part of the transition to paperless navigation. As easy to operate as a cell phone, the TomTom GO provides real-time locations and directions, anywhere you happen to be. Primarily designed for use in your vehicle, this unit is completely portable. Switch it from the car to the truck to the motorhome with no setup, or carry it along on walks. You can take the TomTom GO everywhere; and, unlike many of us, it never gets lost.
Brilliant Touch-Screen Displays
TomTom GO gives you uncluttered maps, easy-to-operate controls, and precise on-screen directions as well as verbal instructions. With large touch-screen icons, making selections is faster and less distracting than fumbling for the correct button. One of the screen displays is a keyboard with an intuitive approach to entering addresses. You need only type a few characters of the city or street name before TomTom GO pulls up the correct option for you to choose. Specify the house number on a street or select a nearby intersection if you don't know the number. Vivid 3D navigation views allow a better understanding of your current position and any upcoming actions or points of interest. For night driving, there are low-glare display settings with color schemes designed for viewing after your eyes have adjusted to the dark.
Need Gas, Need Food--No Problem
The very latest maps of the U.S. from Tele Atlas are included with the TomTom GO, viewable in either 2D or 3D mode. Switching from 3D to 2D allows you to see more of the surrounding area. These maps give you comprehensive coverage of the country; but dispite having more information than ever, they don't take up more memory because of the most recent memory-saving technology. If you're in an unfamilar location but need to find a gas station, restaurant, parking facility, store, amusement attraction, or the airport, TomTom GO will show you the way. Just touch the appropriate icon and choose from thousands of points of interest in more than 50 categories. Use the roadblock feature to calculate an alternative route in an instant. Avoid traffic jams, road work, accidents, or anything else that might get in your way. And if there's a road you really don't like driving, you can block that too.

I recently purchased a new car and really wanted to put in a GPS device. The price of most decent GPS devices installed was $1500.00 or more. This was something that I could not afford.
I then looked at portable devices and saw the TOM TOM GO advertised. With intense shopping and ten websites later, I found the TOM TOM GO at VANNs.com. I have to say that it is one of the best investments I have ever made.
The unit comes practically ready to go, right out of the box. One only needs to connect the device to a computer via USB, download the appropriate maps and begin using the product. There is a mounting device included with the package. You can mount it on the windshield or dashboard, but I was told that if you stick the mounting device to the dashboard you will not be able to get it off without ripping up the dashboard...so I use the device on the windshield.
I have to say that this is one of the best systems I have ever used. I travel a lot for business and have rented cars with all kinds of installed devices. This device rivals the best Magellan GPS systems out there. If you make a wrong turn the system automatically re-routes you much like the others. One major difference here are the '3d' maps that allow you to view the map 'from the top' the same position as if you are driving.
The only drawback is that the touch screen device gets pretty marked up with fingerprints and I am constantly having to wipe it with a dry cloth so I can read the screen effectively. I totally recommend this device.
