Redefining "built-in" speakers . . . the Unisen soundbar
Be prepared to think about your HDTV's audio in a whole new way. Many "other" HDTVs usually feature a built-in two-way, two-channel speaker system so that you can at least hear the audio that accompanies your video picture. Mitsubishi's LT-46151, on the other hand, gives you the opportunity to experience your HDTV's audio thanks to an improved 16-speaker, 5.1-channel built-in audio speaker. Mounted along the bottom edge of the LT-46151's bezel, the integrated soundbar delivers an encompassing five-channel surround sound effect by employing 16 individual 2W drivers. The advanced design and directivity patterns of this speaker arrangement let you experience a surround sound home theater without additional obtrusive speakers and cables. Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic processing fuel this impressive, innovative HDTV audio system, whose low-frequency reproduction you can easily enhance by using the built-in variable subwoofer preout to hook up your powered subwoofer. The complete HDTV experience — 1080p LCD video and 5.1-channel audio.
The need for speed
Okay, tell us if this sounds familiar. It's Monday night, and you and all your buddies are gathered around your old flat panel HDTV watching the football game, when the running back breaks away full-tilt down the field toward the end zone. Someone in your living room shouts: "Wow, look at that! That guy's running so fast his legs are a blur!" "Yeah, that's incredible", you reply. With your old flat panel, you just couldn't bring yourself to admit that the blurring of the running back's legs was the result of your HDTV's slow panel response time and not of the athlete's prowess. Light-hold devices like DLP, LCD, and plasma HDTVs all have some degree of motion blurring in fast-moving images or videos. Some just have way less blur — presenting the LT-46151 LCD from Mitsubishi. Designed with Smooth120Hz technology, this LCD panel displays more fluid and natural fast-moving images using a super-fast 120Hz panel response time. Now you and your friends will be catching all of the action, whether you're cheering your favorite sports teams on in the big game or watching your favorite action flicks. Additionally, an UltraThin Frame design minimizes the size of the bezel so that your LT-46151 becomes a window onto the world of HD.
Fact: you just can't have too much color
If you thought Technicolor was out of this world, you might want to sit down for this. The LT-46151 is capable of displaying . . . billions of colors. What's more, special features designed into the LT-46151 give you the control to customize these colors for optimal, lifelike video reproduction. Okay, now, what's this business about billions of colors? Well, the tag team of x.v.Color and Deep Color allows the LT-46151's screen to display such a large number of colors by expanding the supported color gamut (the work of x.v.Color) and by broadening the color spectrum used to represent the graphical image data being sent to your screen (thank you, Deep Color). Further, Deep Color allows for smooth transitions between color shades, thus eliminating color banding and other visual artifacts for a sharper, more lifelike image. Additionally, a 6-color processor enhances the LT-46151's color capacity by producing brighter colors, a wider range of colors, and whiter whites. Finally, giving you the control to customize the image you see, the LT-46151 offers PerfectColor. A full color matrix, this technology lets you adjust the intensity of six separate colors independently of each other and separately for each of the TV's inputs. You get the color you want for all your video sources.
Less "noise" means better video
The LT-46151's exclusive Video Noise Reduction uses advanced algorithms to better identify video noise from fine detail and correct the signal rather than distort it. Video noise is caused by distortions in the video signal that make the picture look grainy or snowy. As signal resolutions improve with the introduction of DVD, digital cable/ satellite and HDTV, the loss of sharpness produced by most noise reduction circuits becomes more noticeable. Mitsubishi's advanced Video Noise Reduction corrects the image in four dimensions: horizontally, vertically, within each frame, and across multiple frames to provide an image that is crystal clear and extraordinarily detailed.
An HDTV for all occasions
Because you don't plan on using your new high definition LT-46151 to enjoy just one type of video, and because you might find yourself watching it at various times of day, Mitsubishi has designed this LCD with four video modes, letting you customize the TV's performance. Choose between Gaming Mode and Natural Mode when switching between graphical video game images and live-action movies and television programs. If you're sitting down to a matinee, use Brilliant and Bright modes to optimize panel performance in situations with high ambient light.
Now that's a digital photo
Thanks to a front USB port, you can connect a USB thumb drive or USB Card Reader to the LT-46151 and use the 46" screen as a giant photo album. Heck, you can even use the USB input to listen to digital music files over the LT-46151’s 16-speaker sound bar!
The advanced connectivity of HDMI
Bringing you the absolute best in connectivity, Mitsubishi's LT-46151 features four HDMI connections. HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is the only interface in consumer electronics that can carry both uncompressed high-definition (HD) video and uncompressed multi-channel audio in all HD formats including 720p, 1080i and even 1080p. Your incoming media content comes in a variety of sizes, resolutions and formats, and with that in mind, HDMI systems automatically configure to display that content in the most effective format. Since HDMI carries all channels on video and audio, there is only one cable to plug into any HDMI-enabled source and display device. No more complicated cable set-up when installing your home theater system, and no more ugly cable mess behind your components. HDMI supports standard, enhanced, or high-definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on this single cable. Also, HDMI is fully backward-compatible with DVI. (Please note that a physical adapter, sold separately, is needed to make the conversion from HDMI to DVI.)
Your HD lifeline
High Definition Multimedia Interface, or HDMI, is the only home A/V connection that allows for both Full HD 1080p video and 7.1-channel studio-quality audio to be passes along a single cable. In other words, in order to take full advantage of your home theater's high definition potential, you need to HDMI cabling to link HD-capable components. It's only natural that you might have questions regarding how best to outfit your personal HD system. Vann's sales representatives are here to explain all of your options. Great quality picture. Remote is not as intuitive and user friendly as I would like. Particularly the direction arrows took me a while to figure out and are not that easily accessed. The sound is far superior to what Ive experienced for built-in tv sound sources.
On the whole, a very good choice to get a good picture and good sound without having extra components lying around the viewing room.

I recently purchased a Mitsubishi LT46151 flat panel TV. I did a lot of comparative shopping, both for price and the TV itself. We were initially interested in a 52 inch screen, but believe me, the 46 inch is plenty big enough for most homes. It came down to the Mitsubishi, a Sony Bravia, and the LG brand. I read consumer and expert reviews on all three. In the end, I gave the edge to the Mitsubishi. First off, the pricing comparison was pretty much a wash, so it came down to what I could see and hear.
The Mitsubishi has a great sound. It would probably be even better if I hooked up a subwoofer to the set. I actually think that the LG TV had a better picture, though. I am not disappointed with the Mitsubishi picture, but it seems like its a little too dark. There are several picture settings you can select from, as well as the ability to change the brightness, contrast, etc. I am still experimenting with the picture settings.
Which brings us to a minor negative about the Mitsubishi - the remote control. Many of the adjustments one has to make involve the remote, and the main buttons you use to make these adjustments are very small. I have average sized hands and I have to be pretty careful when changing from TV to DVD or video game or when I make other adjustments. Just takes some getting used to.
Otherwise, it is a very good TV. It is easy to set up and outlets are plainly marked. Ive had no problems thus far, and Mitsubishi has a pretty good reputation for making good electronics.
