After a good deal of research and a downward size compromise with my sweetie, we ordered this one. The price was right, it came on time and was very securely packed.

As far as how it works, it exceeds expectations. Its on a turntable so can be oriented to where we are sitting. We use Time Warner cable. The picture is very clear, the sound is excellent for the speaker size. I can read numbers stocks and scores from way back.

I can recommend it. Samsung has it figured out, except…. The setup instructions. They must have been written by drunk engineer types. It should be rewritten by users as you waste a lot of time getting it to work. The instructions are unclear, they assume you know what their abbreviations mean and they lump cable and antenna instructions together creating unnecessary confusion. Very frustrating.

I bought this to replace my moms aging non-HD TV. This is the second one of these I have purchased and the third Samsung TV overall. The picture quality is outstanding, sound is very good for a TV - we added a Yamaha YAS101 sound bar. Overall a very good value.

Ordered two TV for daughters for Christmas. Havent been able to view them, but felt comfortable ordering TV based on numerous positive reviews. Therefore my ratings below required are based on Vanns and my expectations of the TV. The price, no shipping fee and quick delivery made Vanns a no brainer option. Service rep also stated that the long delay to see TV will not impact returning for full credit after Christmas if there is a problem. Very customer oriented.

I strongly recommend consumers to steer away from Samsung. I have purchased 3 Samsung products over the past few years and every one of them has broken within 2.5 years. From a 40 1080 HDTV to Large Kitchen Appliances, all have failed and Samsung refused to repair. I appealed to Samsung several times in different formats with ZERO results. Samsung is an inferior product that markets itself as Superior. Vanns Electronics Store has been reputable and helpful, I have no problem with Vanns...Samsung is the problem.

Good TV, Vanns shipped it fast and secure. It should come with a wall mount. I made one for $6.00 with some 18 steel cable and M6 1 bolts from Lowes. Im happy with it so far.

Bought this TV through Vanns in the clearance center. I would never know if it were repaired or used. Packaged perfectly like new and shows no signs of use. Cant beat the price. Well worth the savings to by at clearance. Love the set. All channels come in clear and easy set up. Looks great and once again Vanns came through for me. Vanns is the only place I shop electronics.

The packaging for the TV was the best I've seen - knew immediately that the TV had arrived in excellent shape. The setup was absolutely a breeze. While I have not tested the various networking, etc. features, I am very impressed with the color, sound and clarity of the TV. This is a perfect size for my bedroom and I often doze off while watching it. The only negative issue is the response time when turning the TV on and changing channels but this is minor. Overall, this is a great TV quality-wise and price-wise.

I ordered 2 TVs from Vanns-Samsung 40 #550-They are great- A very low price for a great TV-The color , sound and operation are all very easy-Color is great and it has so many operational levels that give great clear pictures-easy stand to put on and no problems at all-we set them up in 2 rooms and they look and operate really well-They came packaged extremely well protected-carton in a carton with padding- they were also shipped as Vanns promised and arrived perfectly. Vanns is a really reliable firm to buy from.
