Versatile viewing from Coby
Whether you live in a small apartment or are looking to add HD viewing to a second room like the bedroom, space is at a premium. That is, you simply don't have the space for a large 40" or 50"-class HDTV. Further, there isn't much space for A/V components, either. Using a minimal amount of space while still delivering HD picture quality, Coby presents the TFDVD3297 LCD HDTV with a built-in DVD player. To begin, the 32" LCD display sports a 1366 x 768 resolution, offering widescreen, high definition viewing enhanced by a fast 8ms pixel-response time and 700:1 native contrast ratio. Additionally, a 500cd/m² panel-brightness rating ensures clear, vibrant pictures even in rooms with ambient light. Then, a built-in, slot-loading DVD player lets you watch all your favorite DVD movies on a 32" LCD panel without the need for any additional components or A/V cables. And, because the TFDVD3297's optical drive supports multiple CD audio formats, you can use the integrated 20W stereo speaker system to listen to all your favorite tunes.
HDMI times two
Sure, the TFDVD3297 offers a built-in DVD player. But remember, this flat panel LCD is and HDTV, i.e. it features a high definition 720p display resolution. Now, the video found on DVDs is just standard definition in resolution, so you need to seek out HD video sources like HD satellite or Blu-ray Disc for HD video content. And, ensuring that you are able to connect to HD video sources, the TFDVD3297 sports two HDMI inputs. Currently, High Definition Multimedia Interface, or HDMI, is the most advanced A/V cable available, capable of transmitting Full HD video and 7.1-channel studio-quality audio on a single cable. The TFDVD3297's dual HDMI inputs offer advanced, simple HD home theater connectivity.
DVD, CD, and more . . .
The TFDVD3297's optical drive supports playback of more than DVDs and CDs, too. Imagine you've recently returned from a three-week vacation to the fjords of New Zealand's Milford Sound. And you have, well, quite a few digital photos that you'd like to share with friends and family. Thanks to the TFDVD3297's support for JPEG-formatted images, you can transfer all your JPEG photos to an optical disc, pop the disc into the TFDVD3297's DVD player, and share a big-screen slideshow with all your guests.
What else can I do with 32" of LCD?
We're so glad you asked. As it happens, the Coby TFDVD3297 sports a PC input. Big deal, you ask? It is a big deal. Thanks to the 15-pin VGA input, you can connect your computer or laptop's video output to the TFDVD3297, effectively converting the HDTV into a 32" LCD computer monitor. Further, you can use the PC-audio input to listen to the audio coming from your computer on the TFDVD3297's built-in speaker system.
Digital is here
It happened. Not so long ago, most television broadcasters switched to all-digital signal transmission. As a result, in order to watch over-the-air TV programming, you need a digital TV tuner. Good thing the TFDCD3297 sports built-in ATSC and QAM digital tuners, equipping you to enjoy all your favorite locally broadcast programming.
Speaking of HDMI . . .
High Definition Multimedia Interface, or HDMI, is the only home A/V connection that allows for both Full HD 1080p video and 7.1-channel studio-quality audio to be passes along a single cable. In other words, in order to take full advantage of your home theater's high definition potential, you need to HDMI cabling to link HD-capable components. It's only natural that you might have questions regarding how best to outfit your personal HD system. Vann's sales representatives are here to explain all of your options. Call the 800 number at the top of this page for expert advice.
Included with purchase

Great TV for the price--quick shipping, super picture. Had some trouble turning off the closed captioned mode, and had to call for help--was watching a movie, and it had to be on TV mode to do this. Call was quick and helpful--got the problem resolved. Would highly recommend both this product and this company!

First of all the Vanns team was right on the money. I've never had a problem with their operation whatsoever.
The Coby 32 with DVD play works well but the DVD player occasionally has a hiccup and wont release a DVD for a while. The book that comes with it covers a couple of different models and does not accurately reflect the measurements on the back of the set for a wall mount. And finding a wall mount for a Coby is almost impossible.
The TV itself works fine and the DVD player plays well. The color is great and the sound is acceptable. Presently I am using VGA portion of it tied to a laptop for classroom display and it works great.

Rating 3. I bought this Television because it was cheap and I like the idea of the built in DVD player. Dont try hooking up a WII or XBox. The contrast is too poor to see any game detail. Poor contrast for watchingenjoying serious videosDVDs. Remote control has issues also. Replacing an 19 inch TV in the bedroom, so for a basic TV watching CNN it will do.
