This is the first review Ive ever done.
And its my first LCD TV. I needed something to fit in a small workout room. This was the TV that Consumer Reports recommended most highly in this size. I searched the web for other reviews and feedback, and what CR said was mostly corroborated everywhere else. Since I was probably not going to be adding external speakers, I was particularly pleased that the sound seemed to be rated very highly compared to Panasonic and Toshiba. And it turns out it is pretty good.
Set up was relatively easy, even for a tech neanderthal like myself. But the instructions werent especially extensive or detailed. For one thing, I have DirecTV, and there was nothing in the instructions about setting up through a satellite receiver, and how that would affect your picture or use of the remote, so I had no idea if I was doing it right. And I do wish they would be more specific in the product description about what wires and connections will come with the TV and what you need for what hookups so you could have what you need when it arrives. Plus, it was not clear to me, perhaps because Im an idiot, that if you buy an HD LCD, but dont get an HD receiver from your satellite company and arrange for HD service, the picture is not going to be any better than my old analog TV. I spent several days on the phone with Samsung and DirecTV, trying to figure out if the fact that the reception was not crystal clear was a problem with the TV itself or with my feed. Nowhere in the instructions was there anything about how to maximize your picture if you dont have an HD feed that lets you use HDMI hookups. I had to go through several people on several different phone calls to get help and figure out that if I used AV cables rather than a coaxial cable, the picture would be a little better. And that I had to change the ratio on my satellite receiver to conform to the 16X9 ratio of the TV. Also, I would love it if it swiveled up and down on its stand, as well as from side to side.
Still the net result is that its fantastic for watching DVDs, and if I go HD I figure itll be great for watching TV, but at the moment its kind of distorted and and a little muddy in the wide screen format. Since I dont have anything to compare it to, Im assuming thats just the nature of these TVs and not having HD.
The sound, as I said, is good. And in spite of the Samsung people telling me its not configured for wired headphones, it is, which was important to me. Unless someone can tell me that I shouldnt be having the issues Im having with the quality of the picture, Id have to say Im glad I got it. Its highly rated, looks good, has great features, and though its a little more expensive than some of the other TVs of the same size, I got a great deal at Vanns.

Wow! Great Flat Screen Great Price Great Retailer Great Salesman, Zack!
I have been researching, looking, listening to TVs for three months this one tops them all.
I am a sound engineer, this TV is for a vacation rental house, so I dont want to put in surround sound no one can figure out how to use... this Samsung solved that problem! The picture is the best I have seen on this size, the sound the best I have heard, menu is easy enough, setup a breeze, shipping as fast as quoted, and customer service tops!
Note on installation for increasing the sound quality. I mounted this is in a large cabinet that originally held a 32 tube set in it, I centered the mounting in the large opening by building a base just larger than the one supplied, lifting the TV and centering the picture in the opening, the cabinet increases the bass output to almost double, and by moving the cabinet without a back 8 away from the flat wall behind it, the built in surround sound fills the room and is amazing for two built in speakers... my only disappointment was that there is no separate menu adjustment for sound treble, bass, but it sounds very good out of the box!
I have never purchased a TV online before... next one comes from Vanns!

ConsumerReports.org rates this television highly and I find it to be worthy of their rating. I wanted a set that gets a good picture with my digital cable service as I do not yet get high definition service. The picture on this TV was great without any adjustments once it was set up. The picture quality when playing DVDs is dazzling. I also wanted a TV with good sound quality that is hard to find in a flat screen TV. With only minor adjustments, this TV delivers very good sound quality that satisfies me without having to buy and attach external speakers. I like the small clear frame around the screen that provides a visual buffer between the set and its surroundings. I especially like the swivel feature as this TV is in my den where I sometimes watch from my desk and sometimes from my lounge chair. I would buy this TV again and would recommend it to friends. Also, Vanns performance as a retailer is very good, too.

The 1080p resolution gives you image clarity, stunning colors, and crisp details. I think that Samsung makes the best TVs today. Everytime I asked any sales clerks in stores - they recommended Samsung first. This unit is easy to set up and use - Great product right out of the box.

The Samsung 32 Inch flat screen does a very nice job of presenting images from a Samsung Blue Ray player however, it doesn't do a good job with VCR. We still play our VHS tapes because of the problems with DVDs.

We have this TV for one week. The picture is spectacular & the set up is easy with the hdmi connection. The only feature I miss for the TV settings is the ability to equalize the sound more specifically with a banded equalizer.
