I researched the market for 40 inch HDTVs very thoroughly and came up with the Samsung UN40D6000 as the best choice. I was looking for Wi-Fi internet, LED back lighting and three analog inputs. Samsungs literature promised all these features. I was therefore very disappointed to find that the TV had no wireless adapter. It is sold separately. Also, the three AV inputs had shrunk to two when delivered although three are shown in the instruction book hook up diagram. On top of that, the glass screen is very reflective, a big disadvantage that was a negative feature of Plazma TVs. I also discovered that the remote that is supplied does not have programmability for an AV system, so now I need two remotes just to control channel and picture. All in all, I should return this TV because of the manufacturers false advertising. I guess its too late, Ive had it 10 days.

TV works great. Great Picture, I have one gripe. You would think that technology as it is, Audio should be taken into account. When I hook up my Macbook laptop to watch movies, , There is no audio that will transfer through to the TV speakers. I called Apple, I called Samsung, I called the place where I bought the TV and There is no solution to this particular audio issue when hooking up a laptop computer to the tv via cables. I have to hook up an external audio speaker system and cable to get sound or I will not be able to get audio period. . Why do things need to get so complicated? However this has nothing to do with Samsung in particular. The TV is great. If Samsung and other TV brands could perfect this one problem in being able to transfer Audio from a computer to the TV speakers without having to go through another speaker system, It would be better. I think technology needs to up it up a notch to cover this deficiency and get more simplified.

I like the streamline of the TV and the image is excellent. I havent tried all the bells and whistles that come with a smart TV but I am sure my kids will figure it out. I like the LED system that it is of low energy consumption. Now I need to get HDTV hooked up however it looks great with the digital signal too. Went to Costco and bought a $79 wall TV support system.... it was easy to install and works like a charm. My wife thought it would be too big for the bedroom but after I installed it she could not believe the room it created by folding it back against the wall when we are done watching. Great TV we recommend it at a great price point.

I have owned about 4 LCD Flat screen TVs. This one has a picture that simply blows the others out of the water - highly detailed and realistic. The 40 size is perfect for our home office. The networking features are awesome and were a breeze to set up. Vanns price was the best and they delivered at no cost. We simply couldnt be happier with our purchase.

This Samsung TV came packaged well and worked fine. These TVs do have a light bleeding issue from the corners. It is called flash lighting. Other than that the TV works fine and has a pleasing design.

I ordered this TV recently from VANNS. I got this TV as it is very energy efficient and light. I live in Manhattan and move frequently. Lugging a heavy TV to a new apartment can be a pain. The samsung un40d6000 is extremely light weighing in at only 30 lbs with the stand. It is also the most energy efficient smart TV that I could find. It is also smart tv feature rich so you wont need a ROKU or Revue. You can order movies right from the TV. I dont notice a glare coming from the TV and am able to watch it from any angle. This model didnt come with an internet browser but you could always hook up a REVUE to it if you need one badly or just get the un40d6300.

The display has very good clarity, especially at less than 1080p input, i.e., SD signal from a satellite feed. Installation and set-up was very user friendly. Adusjtments to the display and the audio output are fairly straight forward using the on-screen displays and menus. One bonus is a description of each adjustment that indicates what the adjustment does... quite helpful. Three items to be aware of but NOT necessarily negatives... One, there is no printed users manual included. There is an e-manual you can access and display onscreen, but you have to page thru each screen to find an answer. There is no excuse for not including a fully detailed printed users manual. Second, the picture sizing function has two zoom features. However, these only operate with a SD or 480p signal input. When the signal input is 720p or higher, the zoom function is disabled. Third, the analog sound output is a 3.5mm jack, not a separate left and right RCA type of jack. It works, but one needs the correct type of cable to connect to a stereo receiver. Overall, I have been impressed...

I really love the incredibly sharp picture and clear sound on this TV. I use the TV to listen to Pandora, share pictures with Picasa, and will soon be streaming Netflix. The free Hulu app is not part of the TV instead there is HuluPlus for $7.99 which seems to have most shows, but no news channels. There are lots of apps to explore, but you have to register for each one separately on an old fashioned phone style keyboard. I would like to log in to my FB account, but have not yet been successful. I guess the good news is that you only have to accomplish these tasks once. Too bad Samsung is not able to figure out how to allow you do do this on your computer where the keyboard is more natural and typing a lot faster. To create a home theatre system with the Smart TV you need to purchase Samsung compatible products. I found out the hard way that a Pioneer receiver was not compatible with the TV. The TV has exceeded my expectations.

I have just received the new TV and it seems to be awesome I need to use some of the features and play a Blue Ray disc and see how that picture is. Geoff in internet sales was very accommodating and pleasant to work with. The first 40D6000 was refurbished and had some problems on arrival so I am sending it back tomorrow and have received the replacement. I will continue to use Vanns for my electronic needs. This is our third Samsung HD TV. We did not look at any other brand because of how well our other Samsung TVs have performed. This TV has the Red Touch of Color, which I think is a beautiful addition. The picture is outstanding, better than our 58 Plasma which I didnt think was possible. It is simple to set up & operate. No disappointment in the TV or picture quality whatsoever.

I was looking TV for my home and it was first TV, So i did a lot of analysis to find out good TV and i decided to buy LED TV from Sony, but One day i went to my friends home and i saw t Samsung UN40D6000 HDTV and i looked the feathers,I saw this TV have 1.2 1080p LED TV uses an Ultra Clear Panel, Wide Color Enhancer, and 120Hz processing to give you a high-resolution picture with vivid color. Get access to more content online with Samsungs SmartTV suite of ever expanding apps, including Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, and ESPN Next Level, and DLNA compatibility to stream from my laptop. And I decided to buy it, Now i am enjoying it.

the Samsung 40 inch LED is an awesome TV, its lightwieght with amazing picture quality. when buying a new LED I will always go with Samsung for they are the first generation to create LED TVs, so they know what they are doing. the Smart TV option with the product is a serious plus, Netflix without wires or other console devices makes it all worth it. great picture quality and a must buy for those looking for a great LED TV, and make sure you buy from Vanns for they WILL give you the absolute best deal anywhere even online, and they have super fast delivery.

I primarily chose this Samsung TV over similar specs from other brands Sony, LG for two reasons - Sleek design - the TV has a thin glassy edge that gives it a modern feel. At about 1 inch thick, once mounted the TV looks virtually flat on a wall. Overall, you may get about the same sleekness from a Sony LED, however at MUCH higher price. I understand a TV purchase must first be made on basis of image and performance, but nowadays TVs have become the largest items in living rooms so if the look of your living room matters to you, then should the look of your TV. - Vivid colors - choosing between the Sony and the Samsung LED TVs on basis of image quality was more difficult. Looking at both side by side, I found the Sony images slightly crispier. However, the Samsung TV delivered the best colors, hands down. There are a few images that words alone cant express, and LED TV images are among them. Try watching both the Samsung TV and its Sony or LG counterparts side by side, and appraise the difference. Thats what I did. And watching Planet Earth on the Samsung TV won me in 10 sec. -Cons To connect the Samsung TV to Internet, one must buy the wireless router in addition to the TV itself. A few more bucks.
