I own the Samsung LN-T4681F 46 LED TV with contrast ratio of 500,000 to 1 and wanted to order the 52 model for my wife for her birthday. It turned out it was last years model and was discontinued. Vanns staff and outside review sources recommended the LN52A650. I expected a somewhat lesser quality picture due to the reduced contrast ratio 50,000 to 1 as the TV was an LCD instead of the LED. I was blown away when the 650 was delivered and I turned it on. The picture and sound are beyond belief, totally gorgeous. I am totally satisfied and would recommend the TV to even the most demanding techs out there. I additionally did buy the Bose 321 GS series 3 system for my 650 which rocked the system to another dimension although the audio on the TV alone was quite satisfactory. Samsung continues to improve their quality. The only problem I have with Samsung is their manufaturers extended warranty is nearly $650.00 for 3 additional years. It certainly is worth it if the panel dies or the tv needs to be replaced due to a non fixable issue or parts unavailable for over a a certain period of time.
All in all, I love my Samsungs and will buy the Manufacturers exteneded warranty as I plan on keeping my sets for at least 3-4 years.
I am waiting on 3d TV OR A HOLODECK. lol

Wow! The Samsung LN52A650 is the best LCD TV I ever seen.
Dont be scared of the TOC red frame. It really dresses up the TV nice.
No screen jitter on fast moving video. Connect this to a good upconvert DVD or Blue-ray via HDMI and you will be amazed. Excellent service,Fantastic value,free shipping,no tax,no brainer! Thank you Vanns. Im a customer for life.

When my old 53 inch projection TV went on the blink, I wasnt happy with the prospect of making a large purchase. After several weeks of reviewing and comparing, and more reviewing and comparing, I finally decided that the Samsung LN52A650 was the clear winner.

When it came to features and specs for the price point it won hands down. The picture is crystal clear, with sharp images and smooth motion even in action packed sequences. Standard definition sources look great. But theres only one word to describe the images from HD sources AMAZING!

The only concern I had is that I read some reviews that mentioned that the screen would be hard to see in bright rooms. Well, thankfully, I can tell you that we have a very bright living room that receives copious amounts of sunlight and the TV image is great. Theres some slight mirroring from the glossy screen but really only on very dark scenes. The clarity and brightness of the picture more than makes up for it. The TV also has a large viewing angle. Our seating is spread over 160 degrees. From all angles the view is extremely good.

Ease of use
The menus are very straight forward and easy to use, and allow for a good deal of customization. The remote control is very stylish and utilizes a wheel feature for selection that is also very easy to use.

The red colored bezel
It looks very elegant and stylish. Its not strong or overpowering, almost subdued. I like it!

Sound
Quality is also crisp and clear and has surprising range. I dont have external speakers or a home entertainment receiver yet but the onoard speakers perform quite well.

In summary, Ive had the TV for 2 weeks now and I cannot express enough my pleasure with this purchase. Likewise, it has been a real joy to work with Vanns. This was my first purchase from them and wont be my last. I gave them a good hard look after hearing many positive things from my friend who bought several of his plasma and LCD TVs from them. Vanns customer service is topnotch and readily answered all of my questions. I will certainly be a return customer!
