My First HDTV

Owning a small 20 digital tv with an excellent picture, I decided to step up to a HDTV..my first one. I did a lot of checking around and found this amazing Samsung television. My concern was what kind of pic will I get with basic cable tv....no cable box whatsoever...just a cable from wall outlet to tv. After hooking up my new Samsung..my worst fear was confirmed..a grainy picture. I picked up the owners manual and did some serious reading...then checked the menu on my remote....theres the secret. I pressed tools in the remote and up popped a menu on the screen. I next entered into plug and play in the menu...addded all the cable service info it called for and entered. The tv went into a 20 minute or so scan..ridding all scrambled programs from its list and setting the adjustments to my cable companys service standards. After the scanning was completed the tv went into its normal mode....I was shocked and amazed at the clarity of the picture..it was as good as my little 20 digital tv. I love this tv...it is equipped to make adjustments for you as long as you enter the info it asks for. The picture is as clear and vibrant as any I have ever seen on a tv. The Surround Sound is also good after activating on the remote and thru the menu. I would recommend this tv to anybody...I look forward to when I upgrade my cable service to HDTV.
