The LG TV has a great picture however the sound is a little bad. The speakers are on the bottom of the TV and that seems to muffle the sound when it sits on the base on a hard surface.

Setup was extremely easy and, though I am only using rabbit ears for broadcast TV, the picture is great. Plenty of connectivity.

This is LGs low end if not the lowest end model and it doesn't have most of the buzzword features, but for a basic TV it has everything that most people would need. I'm not a TV connoisseur, which is why I bought a low end unit in the first place, but I didn't want to compromise on the picture quality either. My only comparisons are my LCD computer monitors and a new Panasonic LCD TV. The image on this LG is just as good as the other units, if not better than. I had to turn the contrast up so that I could see details in darker images, but that goes against the recommended calibration. After my own adjustments I have no complaints about the picture quality. The audio is nothing to write home about but I never intended to watch TV with larger speakers anyway. They are adequate for what they are. Compared to the Panasonic, LGs menu system is a joy to use. They provide a lot of control over adjustments and there is an alternate quick menu that gives you convenient access that doesn't require that you delve deep into a menu tree. I'm also pleased that there are ports for component as well as composite connections and there are 3 HDMI ports. That should be plenty for most people. I like that they provide a USB port instead of a memory card slot. There is also a security slot for securing your TV. Performance is also good. The TV powers on quickly enough for me and changing channels is relatively fast. Lastly, I like the touch controls. Details like this make it stand out from cheaper TVs or even those of the same price. Overall, I'm completely satisfied.

I bought this TV last week for my sons birthday. I am very satisfied with it. We have another LG that we purchased last year and bought this one because we are so satisfied with the other one. The new TV was easy to set up, just 8 screws to attach it to the base which is very heavy duty. When hooked up, the programming is very easy also, no problems there. The picture was great right out of the box. There are several quick picture mode settings for cinema, game, standard, etc so you can scroll through and pick one. There are custom and expert setting also, we didn't need these. I have seen reviews that state that the sound is not great. In our case, we are happy with the sound. It comes set to standard sound quality but also has settings to enhance the sound which make a big difference. I always set it to enhanced sound. I would never expect a flat screen TV to have a high performance sound system, if I wanted that I would expect to get an extra home speaker package. Overall, I am very pleased with this TV, I hope and expect it to last us a long time.
