The form factor slim and the look of this TV are both great. The picture is stunning.. My veteran DirecTV service guy even commented that it was among the best he has seen - and that covers a lot of sets. Weve bought 4 of these.. Most are in use as digital menu boards in a restaurant we operate so audio is not an issue. But if you are like most, you will probably want to consider and external audio home theater system as the internal speakers lack fidelity and depth. If you can live with the audio or have the work around, you will NOT be disappointed by the picture quality. LED Rocks !

Like most UN model Samsung products this 40 gives a wonderful picture, the game mode and plug&play auto detection for my DVI-HDMI cable was a nice touch
Basic DVDs and Bluerays showed unnoticable amounts of motion blur you have to REALLY watch for it to notice any Dont be mislead by the reviews on other sites, this is an effective 120hz LED LCD, the main use of this as of current is to reduce motion blur, and thats it. most films are cut at 24FPS, games run between 30FPS and 60FPS, no product uses the full 120hz beyond having the ability to process frames in a smooth manner to reduce blur!
works great as a PC or game system screen.
Speakers worked fine, dont expect to have your hair blown out but they are down facing speakers meaning you cannot obstruct the underside of this TV otherwise you will dampen the sound output.

Beautiful High Definition picture by Samsung, offered at a great price, delivered to my doorstep and backed by a Square Trade extended warranty. Who could possibly ask for more ?

I am a big fan of Samsung. You almost cannot go wrong with their products. I was looking for a 40 class TV for use in the bedroom. Only concern was the speaker volume and lack of audio out. The TV is great in every aspect, especially the price. The volume is excellent especially for the purpose I am using it for. As usual the remote and set up is quick and easy. As far as the audio out you have other options use the USB to a sound bar, use the component cables to a receivercable box, etc.

Have received my 40 LED TV within a week. It was well packaed, there were a lot of foams in the box. The TV set up was pretty straightforward, I was able to get it running after 10 minutes. The USB function is kind of useless, you can only put in a flash drive to see pictures and play MP3 and thats it. The sound is decent, but like everyone writting the review said, the rear jacks are limited, so you cant set up a home theater system. Theres only 1 set of component input and no audio output....It doesnt bother me that much, since I only need a basic TV. I think its a good TV for the value you paid.

This TV is great and as advertised. For those looking for an economical TV with the Samsung quality of much more expensive TVs ... this is the TV for you. The LED is brighter than my 40 LCD, the picture is slightly better, the TV is thinner and the overall footprint is smaller. Samsung and Sony make the best TVs bar none. For a sub-$500 full HD LED TV ... you cant beat the UN40D5003. The only thing this TV doesnt have is controls on the TV you have to use the remote and its limited on the number of inputs 2 HDMI, 1 Component, 1 Coaxial. But for an everyday TV its fantastic and can fit anywhere. Hook it up to cable, Roku, Blu-Ray and youre good to go with about anything. If you want to go further, run it through your receiver and knock your socks off.
I searched many other sites and stores ... which some had this TV priced the same ... but with no tax and shipping $20, I still saved between $50-$100 on this TV through Vanns.
