This television is excellent as of this date and hope this continues. The purchase of this set follows a very bad experience with another Sony set which was a 32 inch LCD monitor that was removed from the market this year because of repeat problems.

One thing you should do when you first begin using the set, is to be sure and set your screen settings. The TV came with it set in Vivid mode which was to intense for a small living room. A quick change to the standard mode corrected the situation.

I have nothing but good things to say about this set and would recommend it highly and think you would be happy with your purchase.

Good, but not Great

I purchased this TV to use in my master bedroom since my wife has taken over our large plasma in the family room. I had done a lot of research before deciding on this model and thought it would be a terrific TV for me. Turns out that it didnt satisfy me for 2 reasons.

First, this TV is too big for my bedroom. It looks a lot bigger in my house than it did on the wall of the big box store where I looked at it. Also, the picture quality while watching sports, even in HD, didnt match up with my plasma. Despite claims from the manufacturer about new refresh rates fixing past problems with LCD on this issue, it was a big enough problem for me to not want the TV anymore.

Picture quality on broadcasts that didnt involve fast motion scenes was great. If I didnt watch so much sports programming it would probably have kept it, even if it was a little bigger than I needed for the bedroom.

I may be pickier than most when it comes to picture quality, but I'd suggest you take a close look for yourself at LCDs before dropping big dollars on a new TV.
