You, friends and family, TC-P50V10 = daily cinema
An HDTV can be as beautiful as it wants, but it's gotta have someone to enjoy the features. You're it. Stylistically, your TC-P50V10's 2" thin design provides a contemporary , low-profile design that enhances any home. Digital Cinema Color covers 120% of the conventional HDTV color standard, giving you a full display of all movie-essential colors. A Neo PDP panel displays gorgeous full-time 1080p resolution in an energy efficient way. Plasmas, efficient? Yes, Panasonic designed this new panel so that it only uses half as much energy as previous models while maintaining just as much brightness. On top of that, a stunning 40,000:1 native contrast ratio teams up with an infinite black panel to contribute to deeper blacker levels. Your TC-P50V10 turns your movie, JPEG photos, or games into a masterpiece of natural, defined images.
It's ALIVE!!! Tomlinson Holman's experiment, a.k.a. THX
It's certifiable — your new 50" TC-P50V10 plasma HDTV from Panasonic takes your home video experience to a new level. THX isn't a recording technology, but rather a high-fidelity audio- and video-reproduction standard for film content. Further, as an industry benchmark in video-image quality, THX Display Certification assures you that the TC-P50V10 delivers exceptional images, frame after frame, bringing you immersive movie, broadcast, and gaming experiences, right in your living room. Panasonic's V10 series of plasma panels also feature full HD 1920 x 1080p resolution, enhancing your video experience with the highest pixel resolution and smoothest scanning available for life-like detail, and smooth, judder-free video during fast action scenes or sports.
VIERA CAST: Surf the net on your plasma
Make yourself comfy, because your TC-P50V10 has internet access via VIERA CAST. Watch the latest YouTube creation, view a slideshow of your Italy trip, and then dip into your email box: all from the comfort of your couch and on your gorgeous 50" HDTV. VIERA CAST shows up on your TV in a grid pattern, with YouTube on the right, Picasa on the left, and Bloomberg and News reports on the bottom. Navigation is easy, thanks to sliding windows (similar to Xbox 360's menu). Easily access updates via the internet.
600Hz sub-field drive, for starters
Sure, your new 50" plasma TC-P50V10 draws glances when neighbors visit. It's gorgeous, but it's not just a hunk of fine-looking flat panel. It's loaded with intelligent technologies. Take the 600Hz sub-field drive, for instance. This technology produces razor-sharp images, even in high-speed chase scenes. Thoughtful additions like the pixel orbiter (an anti-image retention device), an Anti-Reflective panel, and an ENERGY STAR® qualification add up to explain the impressive 100,000-hour panel life span.
VIERA Image Viewer gets personal
The best images you can ever view on a Panasonic plasma don't have anything to do with HDTV. Share your own JPEG photos taken with an SD Memory Card-compatible digital camera on the TC-P50V10 through the set's SD card slot. Simply insert the SD card, which is about the size of a postage stamp, into the SD slot on the TV and enjoy a photo slideshow.
VIERA Link eases operation
And speaking of convenience, check out Panasonic's VIERA Link. You can operate (through three HDMI connections) all your home theater components by pressing one button on the TV remote. An HDMI cable carries not only digital video and audio signals, but control signals, too. For example, use your VIERA remote to control a recording operation with your DVD recorder or to start and stop playback of scenes from a video camera. With VIERA, extra ease and convenience are part of the entertainment package.
Film, from start to finish
Way out west in Tinseltown, your favorite films are recorded at 24 frames per second. Unfortunately, most television content is recorded at 30fps, so most televisions are designed to display motion pictures at this speed. Until now, the solution has been to interpolate, or add, artificial scenes into 24fps content in order to "stretch" it to fit a TV's 30fps capability. Recent demands on the part of movie lovers for an authentic home-cinema experience have lead to technological advancements making a 24fps experience possible at home. High definition video like that recorded onto Blu-ray Disc contains 24p (or, progressive-scan 24fps video content) that brings true film into your home. But wait! There's still one more piece the puzzle. While true 24fps film makes it from Hollywood to your Blu-ray player, just like a movie-house feature film, it needs a screen to be enjoyed . . . i.e. your flat panel needs to be able to display 24p content. Enter the TCP50V10 with 24p playback. This technology is fully capable of displaying 24fps video thanks to specific video processing that reproduces film-based images as video content. Start popping the popcorn.
Your HD lifeline
High Definition Multimedia Interface, or HDMI, is the only home A/V connection that allows for both Full HD 1080p video and 7.1-channel studio-quality audio to be passed along a single cable. In other words, in order to take full advantage of your home theater's high definition potential, you need to HDMI cabling to link HD-capable components. It's only natural that you might have questions regarding how best to outfit your personal HD system. Vann's sales representatives are here to explain all of your options. I was perfectly happy with my Sony KDS50A3000 projection tv until I saw this one at a local store. I HAD TO HAVE IT. To tell you the truth I really wasnt in to plasmas anyway. I will put this versus the absolute best LCDs on the market. For the money it cant be beat. The picture is outstanding. There are many adjustments to make this unit look great in any room. Although I wasnt all that impressed with the THX mode. Picture was too dark for my taste. That is the only bad thing I can say about this tv. Blu ray movies look stunning and sports look as if you are on the playing field. If you are looking for a flat panel tv in the 50 inch range then look no further. Vanns did an excellent job in helping me set up this television too. Their staff is very knowledgeable. Buy this and you will never leave home!

We were pleasantly surprised to have it delivered a few days early and at a price that was several hundred dollars cheaper than what we could get in town.
The images come out quite sharp, colorful, rich and accurate. With the SD card reader and the VGA input I can finally show high-res images from my camera and computer on the television.
Blu-ray movies look fantastic and even our regular wide-screen DVDs look very nice. We finally have a movie theater experience in our own home.
Has more than enough inputs and types of inputs for the typical user. Pretty easy to set up.
The only thing Im not certain about is that Im unable to change some of the settings in the Advanced Picture menu. Perhaps that is because that is for the HDMI input from the Blu-ray and some of the settings are not applicable to such an input but the manual is unclear on that.
The auto channel scannersetting function found a number of digital channels from our cable connection that actually dont have any content so I erased a bunch of them.
Some of the built-in settings could be explained in the manual but arent. However, for typical viewing purposes and users the set up is pretty straight forward. Its when you want to do some tweaking of the output that you have to have some previous background knowledge---the manual wont tell you what the terms mean.

I received my TC-P50V10 a few days ago. My impressions so far
THX calibration looks very good. It is not very bright, so it is best in a dimly lit room. This is consistent with what Ive read in user reviews.
The remote is not well laid out. At this price I expect a versatile universal remote, and it is not. It can control my Panasonic DVD player sometimes. As a result I have to use my STB universal control for most functions.
Built in sound is OK for casual viewing.
Standard resolution pictures look as good as I expect. Upconverted THX DVDs look really good. A short view of a Harry Potter Blu-Ray movie in 1080p24 frame mode was spectacular.
The TV looks nice, is heavier than I expected, and is a bit deeper than I expected, although I was not concerned with the depth. I dont have an ethernet drop nearby, so I havent been able to try the Internet features.
Overall an excellent product at a good price. I got this instead of the G10 for the better video performance specification in 1080p24 mode.
