I looked all over at different plasma and LCD TV's, and the Panasonic TH42PD50UP was the best value I could find. I was not in the market for an HD TV, so this ED TV fit my needs perfectly. I was also considering the Samsung R4232 ED plasma TV and the Samsung R4212. After reading several reviews on all of these, the Panasonic was the easy choice. It was easy to set up and the picture is great from both my DSS and DVD player. There are plenty of inputs on this TV as well for all your AV needs. I was impressed with the shipping time and Vann's customer service agents who helped me place and track my order. If you are looking to do more research, do a search on plasma tv buying and you'll find plenty of info. Thanks Vann's for making it easy to purchase this great TV!

I have been planning my purchase of a plasma television for 6 months now, and this television has gone beyond my expectations of what I wanted from the new revolution of plasma televisions. The one thing that sticks out is that this television is an EDTV and not an HDTV, but when I watched content from this television there was nothing bad that I can say about the picture quality of this television. If EDTV looks so good already, then HDTV has to be something that is not so far away. Everyone talks about how this model is cutting the features of the previous model TH42PD25UP, but what remains like the ATSCQAM tuner, and the Digital Audio Out already gives you the tools you need to receive quality programming and great sound. Added to that is the picture quality that continues to wow me everyday that I turn this television on. I am so grateful that I have run into this great website dealer, Vanns, who gave great service and allowed for me to order and receive a large plasma television within 5 days. It is unbelievable, and the results of the television are the same.

After months of research, including questioning TV repairmen, it all kept coming back to Panasonic. We chose this model because it was the size we preferred. 'Panasonic' was our first decision, next was the size. Picture quality was an important factor in our choice. Within 15 min. of delivery, the TV was in place & while we expected to spend the rest of the day trying to figure out the remote & picturesound control settings, the guide was the easiest set of step-by-step instrucions I have encountered. It all couldn't have been easier. Following the simple instrucions in the book, we immediately had everything set up to our liking. We decided to try other preferences for comparison. We tried all of the settings for color, contrast, etc.
There's even a setting for zooming in & watching TV in a close-up mode. The best part is how easy it is to read the manual a first. No translator was needed. Even somone unfamiliar with electronics can understand it. 2 friends who have bought TV's in the past 3-4 months came over to see it. Both of them, electronic geeks, commented that we had a much better picture than either of their's & the instruction manual was written for laymen. A 3rd person wrote down the model # & intends to buy the same set. Panasonic wins hands down for making everything, especially that manual, user friendly. Couldn't ask for better than that. The quality of the picure, along with the ease of use, makes this among our best purchases. And to think I dreaded the prospect of a new TV & the hours I thought we would have to spend before we could watch anything.....Within 45 min. we were checking out the quality of all of the channels & celebrating our choice with champagne.
