Just what you wanted
You want a plasma TV that looks good. With a 50" screen, 1080p resolution, and sub-field drive up to 600Hz, LG's 50PZ550 delivers. But that's not all you want. You also want your TV to be future-proof. With 3D capabilities, this plasma panel is ready for anything the next several years serves up. Plus, the PZ550 is network-enabled. So, using an ethernet cable or a separately-purchased Wi-Fi adapter, you can connect your TV to your home network. Why would you want to? Two reasons: NetCast and DLNA. NetCast streaming lets you enjoy music, movies, and more any time you please from top names. DLNA certification, meanwhile, lets you access all your media files on other DLNA-compliant devices on your network. If that still isn't enough entertainment for you, two USB ports let you access your pictures, music, and videos that way. And despite the multitudes of cool features, this LG TV is still ENERGY STAR certified, promising to save resources and save you money. This HDTV is exactly what you wanted.

Ive had this LG plasma for about 2 weeks and Im loving it. The picture is great and the glare is less than the LED LCD I had in its place before I got it which was a nice suprise. Cant beat the price with the quaility you get.

I had to return this 50 Plasma TV. I got an RMA, and FedEx already picked it up.
The TV is just too dim for me. I tried adjusting everything witht the Brightness adjustment all the way to 100, the energy conservation OFF, playing with the Contrast, and the picture is just dim for me.
The picture is not realistic. I tried watching a movie whose scene was in the desert, but the it looks foggy in there.

This is a great deal. This was the price I wanted and the size works great for me. The internal speakers are ok, certainly not a draw back. The picture is very good. If you can get it on sale, you won't be disappointed. If you expect it to compare well to a $3,000 model, I don't know what to tell you. I've only had it for a few weeks but I am very happy with it so far.

Again, I feel as if my family hit a home run buying thru Vanns. The sales rep was very informative and educated when I was determining the product to buy including providing logistics information of where the product would be shipped from. We were very pleased again with the service provided by Vanns. The price markdowns on Plasmas were too good not to buy. I was not looking for a 3D TV, but when I saw the offer for this particular TV, I could not pass on the opportunity. We were blown away when we put ESPN 3D station with a sporting event. It was a huge bonus feature we were not expecting. I have bought electronics from Vanns several times and have been impressed everytime. Word of mouth is the best advertisement an individual can give. Vanns is the 1st internet site that I have gone out of my way to spread the fantastic service.
Spectacular TV! Fantastic service from Vanns. (April 19, 2011)

First off, Vanns rules hands down. I ordered this set Monday 411 and was delivered Thursday at 10am via Fed Ex ground for free. I called and they price matched another vendor. This is my 2nd time placing an order with them and the last time went so well I figured I was in good hands. Now the LG50PZ550,, Stunning picture in both 2d and 3d. The 3D is superb, truly mind blowing. Hooked up to my PS3 and downloaded all the 3D game demos, just jaw dropping. 2D to 3D surprised me on how great it looked, even coming from a non- 3D source. True Blue-Ray 3D is, as my wife stated, Unbelievable. Watched Disney’s “Tangled” 3D Blue Ray And was amazed. Consumer Reports rated LG Plasmas excellent, which sold me. All for about a grand, with the 3d glasses and no sales tax. Hook up to the Internet was just plugging in the Ethernet to the back. TV updated its software itself! Comes pre-Loaded with Netflix, ect. Only slight bummer was the only audio out was via optical cable, not RCA for my sound bar but I can get an optical analog adaptor on-line for a few bucks. But I really don’t need it as the sound out of the TV is really good. 4 HDMI inputs and 2 component plenty of room. Picture Wizard for set-up is super simple and the remote is the best I have ever held. Thinking of getting another while the glasses are still included.
Very Good Picture and a great deal! (April 13, 2011)

Got this LG 50PZ550 with 2 free 3D glasses AGS 250 bundle. Pros....Very good picture quality with HD and SD channels. I did tweak the factory settings a little for better viewing. Good blacks in all content. Blu-Ray playback is very good as well. I only watched 3D content from Comcasts Free Movies section. It was awesome experience with the glasses. The glasses did timeout several times while watching. Not sure why, just annoying. Netcast Entertainment with Netflix and Youtube works well with an easy to use interface. Streaming movies from Netflix is a great feature and sure does beat the mail delivery method. The quality of the picture is better than I thought it would be for streaming. Youtube feature is nice to have, with picture limitations based on the quality of the video. I havent tried the Picasa web albums, MLB.TV, and Cinema Now. Streamed a free credit HDX movie from Vudu and it was pretty good. Wireless setup took a little more time than I had thought with the LG Wi-Fi USB dongle I bought on Ebay but I did get it to work. I had thought the Yahoo Widgets was part of the 50PZ550, but was not. That is the only disappointment I have with this TV. The TV looks great with TruSlim. Modern and stylish look. Had thought of buying the more expensive Panasonic ST30 but no real regrets as the better price with 2 free 3D glasses and styling with the 50PZ550 made up for it. Cons....The mirror like finish for the plasma screen meant that we had to pull the shades down in our very light and airy living room. Not big deal since we are moving it to a darker room later. But, keep that in mind as Plasma is better for darker rooms.
