Easy to uncrate, easy to set-up, easy to hook-up. AWESOME PQ my first plasma, coming from a Samsung DLP unit. Never listened to sound thru TV speakers as already have HTS. Did run burn in slides for ~120 hrs, although my understanding that todays plasma technology no longer requires this. No issues with display reflectivity a major concern for me, any lamp reflection disappears into the background when watching the set. Vanns was just as awesome to deal with, very informative regarding order and delivery status. Although purchased from Vanns thru the Amazon portal, I would not hesitate to order direct from Vanns in the future.

This is my first plasma. I have always heard LCD beats plasma hands down. This replaced an 18 month old LG 55 LCD. The LG was a great TV, I just wanted a 3DTV and with the bundle deal, you could not beat it. This plasma looks better than my LG and is alot thinner and heavier. Right out of the box it looked great. We popped a 3D movie in the PS3 and were very impressed. To us, this 3D is better than watching one at IMAX. Everyone complains about the built in speakers of any LCDplasma big screen. Who buys a big screen and does not hook it to a receiver?? Anyways, for anyone who knows what speakers look like, they can be big and bulky, the bigger they are, the louder. So if you have a 1.5 thick TV, like this one, you should not expect great sound. Spend all this money on a TV, spend alot less and get a surround sound. Also a reviewer said some apps have no sound....run an optical cable from the tv to a seperate input on your receiver and it will work fine. This TV makes 2D into 3D, it is ok, but nothing like a real 3D movie. I did not play with the apps much, but I could not get netflix to work, it said I was not connected to the internet. Netflix does not work on my PS3 either though, but we always watch it thru the xbox anyways so no big issue there. Once you update the TV over the interent, there is a 3D app which contains some music videos, trailers, and a few movies. Some of these movies are sold in stores so be careful buying any 3D movies until you check out what is on this app. 3D movies are pretty pricey, but at the playstaion store, you can rent or buy 3D movies for around the same price as renting any other movie.
One last thing. While researching TVs, I was on the Samsung website and according to their specs, the 6500 series this model here and the 7000 series, comes with 1 pair of active glasses. This tv did not come with them so I was one pair short I needed 6. I have emailed Samsung and they told me it does not come with glasses, so I emailed them back with a link to their own product page and have received no response yet.

I was pretty excited when the TV arrived. Sadly, that turned to disappointment when I started it up. There was a horrible buzzing sound that could be heard even with the volume up high. I called samsung and was told the sound is not normal. I have a four-year-old samsung plasma that makes no buzzing sound, so I was a little shocked to hear any buzzing. BUT, after two weeks, the buzzing sound disappeared. For no apparent reason. Its since been suggested that it was a moisture issue based on my failure to wait and let the TV acclimate to the temp and humidity of my house. In any event, its been about four days without buzzing, and now I love the TV. Great for sports and action movies. Ive seen no pixelation whatsoever. I am still messing with the picture settings, but picture looked great even out of the box. The super thin design looks great. Speakers have surprisingly decent sound. Now that the buzzing is gone, I really have no complaints.

This is my first Plasma TV. I have 10 other LCDLED TVs and thought its time to try Plasma. I am totally pleased with Samsungs 59 3D Plasma. Picture is great, 3D is awesome. Only wish the remote would have had the qwerty keyboard on the reverse side. I can live with it. I would buy this TV again and again. Jim

I wasnt in the market for a new TV until my 10-year old 60-inch rear projection TV finally went out. After extensive research, I settled on the Samsung 59-inch D6500. I couldnt have made a better choice. I had no idea what I was missing with the beautiful picture displayed by this plasma TV, not to mention its ease of use. Ive been watching movies I wouldnt ordinarily watch just because of how good they look and sound. Its truly like being at the movies. And the 3D feature is unbelievable. I cant wait to watch football in 3D. With a pair of 3D glasses, five movies and a 3D blue ray player included, who could pass up such a deal. The only drawback Ive found so far is that Smart Hub features such as Netflix, Hulu and Vudu cant be played through my home theater speakers. You can only hear it through the TV speakers, which arent that great. Fortunately, I can get Netflix and Vudu through my Playstation 3,allowing me to use my home theater speakers. Otherwise, Im thoroughly pleased with my purchase
So far an improvement over 2010 model (June 20, 2011)

I purchased this from Vanns to replace the same model 2010 version I purchased from another etailer. First let me say, when buying Samsung products always buy from an Authorized Samsung Dealer! I purchased the first TV in February from another etailer, it had a manufacturers defect but Samsung would only repair or refund since it was not through an authorized dealer. No exchange by Samsung! Wasn't real happy!! The 2011 model I purchased from Vanns has an inch more screen view, better WI-FI, AND 3D capability. The cost only $50.00 more than I paid for the 2010 version. They haven't improved the speakers, however, still very weak in the low range, but otherwise it is good so far. We'll reserve some judgment until we've had it a few months and make sure there are no defects as on our first version! I love the TV when it is working properly, great picture, great apps, etc.
