My wife and I love our new plasma tv we bought from Vanns. The picture is the best I have ever seen. The only flaw is the sound and that is not a problem because we have a home theater system. The price was great and Vanns delivered the tv right to my doorstep at no extra cost to me. If anyone is looking for a HDTV, this is the one for you and being a plasma, the picture is unbeatable. This plasma looked great in a local show room - better motion and natural image compared to LCD in the 40 to 42 inch size. Plasma certainly performs in low light environments like basements. Piano black frame just compliments everything - but many sets use the same popular style. The factory box packing was adequate to get the product safely to our destination. Construction was superb on the set. Very minimal scuffs and parts seem solid and assembled with care. For the price, it has alot of features and input options. Here is the IFFY part - the additional features promote static image use such as game mode, usb picturemusic, and pc hookup. Samsung clearly states in their manual that static images should only be displayed several minutes...etc. Clearly Samsung will not warranty burn-in, yet this plasma has major features promoting major burn-in. Perfomance may not impress those with detail seeking eyes. While I could not see this, my husband could pick up pixelation in standard DVD playback small tetris size blocks in fast motion images reds, animation, quick facial or arm movements etc. Dropping the sharpness to 0 reduced this pixelation but did not eliminate it. No doubt, you will need to change the factory defaults for the best picture. For the price, it offers alot compared to the others in 720p resolution and screen size. Its a solid entry level HDTV budget set...if you have more cash, spring for 1080p in sets bigger than 40 inches.

I looked at all the TVs at a local store & this one stood out as the best picture. I looked online & found Vanns.I was very skeptical about making an online purchase for a TV but Im glad I did. Vanns is top notch. Now to the TV.
Picture is excellent, I cant see why someone would spend 3 grand on a TV when they could get this one for alot less.I have Direct TV and even standard definition is great. There are a gamat of connection ports & the TV is just beautiful.
The only drawback is the speakers, I can understand why other reviews claimed them to be weak, because they are. Set up was easy but it took some time to get all the adjustments just right.Very happy with my new panel.

This is the first plasma tv I have purchased. I was unhappy with the picture quality of the tv, because of the grainyness of the picture. I used cnets recommendation onthe settings for movie mode and what a termendous difference in the picture. I love this tv now and the picture is very clear and the colors pop. Thank you cnet for your recommendations you are the best.

I have had this tv for two weeks now. I researched this model intensively before buying and almost every other review raved about it. The biggest negative I had read was sound quality. Well the sound on this tv is more than adequate, and since most people have receivers hooked up anyway, the sound the tv puts out is almost irrelevant.
Picture quality is great and does not distort at all if viewing from an angle. Inputs are plentiful and easy to access. Some dark colors in HD look a bit grainy and pixely, but I am not sure if that is the fault of the HD cable signal or the TV. More often than not, HD pictures I am watching are superb.
Watching non HD shows on this tv isnt the best, but once again I am not sure if this is the tvs fault or the HD signal fault.
Vanns service was great. I ordered the tv on a Wed and it arrived the next Monday. The price was cheaper than retailers in town, it came with a free upconvert DVD player, free shipping and no tax. Sounded too good to be true, but it was a flawless transaction.

I returned a Sony 40 LCD and purchased the T4264 instead. There is no comparison. The picture and sound compares with my 50 Panasonic. There are so many different menu settings you can choose from, you are not limited to what the manufacturer thinks how you should see and hear programs.
When it is time to upgrade my next TV it will be Samsung.

This is great non-1080p plamsa TV for the money. I also have a Panasonic 42 plasma and the picture quality of the Samsung equals if not slightly better than the Panasonic. The Samsung has many really great features, including the three HDMI inputs, PC-port and the USB 2.0 port. I can hookup a USB thumb drive to the TV to view pics or even play MP3s. The other nice feature is that Samsung uses the USB port for firmware upgrades to the TV. Not sure why the other major manufactures have not followed that method. This set also have many display adjustments to get the picture perfect for your viewing environment. The only downside, is that the front bezel is a high-gloss black that really gets dusty several times a day comes with its own cleaning cloth.
If you are looking at a pure 1080p plasma, then check out the new Panasonic 700 line or the Pioneer series - definitely are the best 1080p sets.
