Because the illusion of motion used in movie and television programming is achieved by flashing a series of still images, or frames, on the screen in fast succession, the smoothness and naturalness of motion depends upon how many frames are shown and how fast they appear. Frame rates for film and television content range from 24 frames-per-second to 60fps (also expressed in Hertz). 600Hz Subfield Motion technology flashes each frame ten times, meaning that up to 600 frames are shown every second (when viewing 60Hz content). This is my first purchase for a flat panel TV. Did extensive research comparing 720p vs 1080p, for the use of this TV, in the master bedroom, this choice was perfect since there will be no connection of games or use of Blu-ray. No direct light as well. Virtually no set up, just plug in accordingly, wait a few minutes and enjoy! The picture is amazing, the sound is excellent. Noticeable difference in HD. It works beautifully with the cable remote and is very simple to use. We didnt even need to use the instruction manual. Cannot beat this price for a Samsung, which is known for lasting quality. Would definitely purchase another Samsung TV, in fact counting on it ... And it will definitely be through Vanns! Vanns not only beat the lowest price I could find, their cust svc dept is easy to get through and very helpful! Communication for delivery, returns, policies, etc is excellent! Samsung and Vanns, a great combination of excellent quality - something you dont find everywhere!

we purchased the samsung 50 inch flat panel tv to go over our mantel. It fits perfectly and the picture is very clear. The TV was very easy to set up and once we turned it on the steps to set up were immediately on the screen. This is the first large screen we have owned. We chose the plasma because it was for our basement and the color and picture match the lower lighting of the room.

This is my first plasma purchase and I am very happy with it. I currently own a 50 Panansonic DLP and a 67 Samsung LED DLP. The Samsung plasma outperforms my 50 Panasonic in all respects. I have it installed in my bedroom. It is VERY bright. I have not calibrated it, but I did have to go into the settings and turn the power saving on to bring the brightness down. The colors are very vivid and the black levels are great as well. I would highly recommend this TV for anyone. The 720p is fine for the HD channels that my cable company supplies. If this would be in my living room with a Blu-ray player, I would have gotten a 1080p.

This set is AWESOME. My husband was leery of getting a plasma since we have a 46 1080p Sony Bravia LCD. However, I had done all my homework, looked at a few sets locally, and decided this was the set I wanted.
Now, we watch 99 percent of everything on this set. Cable, blu-ray movies, and Netflix streamed through our LG370 BluRay Player. I honestly can not tell the difference.
One thing to note though, the average viewing distance is approximately 10 ft for this set in our living room. But Ive been closer to it just to see how it compared to the LCD...it blows the LCD away.
The sound isnt the greatest. However, we hooked a Vizio sound bar and wireless subwoofer up to it, and this set-up rocks!

Recently ordered this television from Vanns...I was a bit apprehensive about shipping such a large delicate item from Montana all the way to New York but........the price was fantastic and I figured what the heck! Also, the Samsung Stereo was FREE when I purchased the television. The television arrived, with a few holes in the outside of the box but the television was PERFECT, with no damage at all. It is only 720P and it is a plasma but we are delighted. We have a 52 Sony Flat Panel Television that started acting up, immediately after the warranty expired.....that television we purchased locally and it was over $2 grand! Never again....well order again from Vanns with NO HESITATION whatsoever! Do not hesitate.....you will be pleased.

This is my first HDTV and I have been extremely happy with my purchase. I did my research before buying and from what Ive found this is one of the best values in Plasma. The colors are true, the picture is great and the price is right. My only complaint is that standard def sources dont look that good, but I guess in part it is the nature of HD.Its to display HD. The size of the screen 50 also does not do SD sources any good. All in all, I am very happy and would reccomend this TV to anyone looking for a large screen with an excellent picture at an affordable price.

This TV is an amazing deal for the price. Im not a big techie, so I went for what seemed to be the beast deal for the best image. This definitely surpassed my expectations! It stays very cool, has the fastest response time Ive seen, and is just an all-around great TV. If I had unlimited funds, Id have gone LED, but this plasma is still better tha LCD in my opinion. Definitely worth purchasing!

Brilliant picture and color reproduction, a truly amazing television for the price. Dont let the 720p resolution fool you, at 10 feet, I couldnt notice a difference in quality between my Samsung 1080p LCD and this TV - actually this one looked a bit better!
