Awesome player.
Originally, its coming with v56 firmware, witch it will give you problems for listening to dvd-audio discs. But if you upgrade the firmware to v58witch is pretty simple to do you will have a super universal dvd player, revealing sounds and notes that you didnt know you have on your discs.The audio hardware its just top of the line, with 3 separate audio chambers for processing dvd-as, sacd and regular discs. A bit slow in reading the discs, but this is the only minor flaw that this player has. Remember, this was Yamahas flagship player with a $800 introductory price, available now from Vanns with $200. You just cant beat this deal.Yamaha has fixed some minor flaws on this player and now its available under s2700 code with $800.Just upgrade the firmware and you gonna have the same player with a fraction of the cost from this fine AUTHORIZED dealer. Keep in mind, Yamaha products are not covered by the manufacturer warranty unless bought from an authorized dealer, so I strongly recommend Vanns for your Yamaha needs.
