DVD on the Go

The SDP2800 utilizes a bright 9" 16:9 widescreen IPS LCD display (800 x 480) that is perfect for viewing standard, letterbox, and anamorphic DVD movies. In Plane Switching (IPS) overcomes the viewing angle disadvantages that are common with TFT LCD displays by providing a 170-degree viewing angle, horizontally and vertically. The superior response time of 17 milliseconds on the SDP2800 makes the motion picture sharper. This little unit not only plays DVDs, it's also compatible with DVD Audio (2-channel)/CD/Video CD/DVD-R/CD-R/CD-RW and it plays MP3 and WMA files burned to CD-R/RW media, too. Not bad for a DVD player that's only 3.65 pounds (with battery). 14-Bit/108mHz video digital-to-analog conversion provides maximum color purity, detail and resolution, and 24-Bit/192kHz audio compatibility delivers warmer, more natural-sounding audio from many types of discs.

DivX Home Theater Certified

DivX Home Theater Certification allows playback of DivX (.div/.dvix) AVI and MPEG4 (.ASF) compressed files downloaded from the internet from a personal computer and stored on a CD-R/-RW disc. The support extends to full version of DivX 3.11, 4.12 and 5x as well as DivX PRO, with video resolutions of 720 x 480 at 30 fps and 720 x 576 at 25 fps. Audio support for a multitude of formats including MP3, AC-3 (2 ch and 5.1 ch), WMA, LCPM, ADPCM and Ogg Vorbis.

These Features Sound Good

3-D virtual surround sound provides a simulated surround sound effect from sources that contain only a stereo soundtrack. This feature is convenient when playing older DVD films or for use with portable devices like the SDP2800 since it is not equipped with a multi-channel speaker system. The SDP2800's dual headphone output jacks supply audio to two independent sets of headphones at the same time so you can enjoy entertainment with someone else, and still not disturb those around you.

Digital Image Viewer... and More

The SDP2800 allows you to not only view your favorite photos, but allows for dynamic zooming as well. The Toshiba JPEG Viewer enables you to display digital photographs captured in the JPEG format. Simply load the CD with your favoite photos and create custom slide shows with a few simple clicks of the player's remote control.This Picture Zoom feature allows you to select an area of the picture you want to zoom in on and magnify it. Enhanced digital processing during moving video or freeze-frame playback produces superior color fidelity and resolution, even when you're zoomed in. It can also be used to expand letterbox-only films to increase the viewable area onscreen.

4-in-1 Card Slot

The SDP2800's 4-in-1 memory card slot extends the player's versatility by displaying digital images in the JPEG format captured on flash memory cards, as well as letting you listen to MP3 and WMA files saved on SC (Secure Digital), Memory Stick, xD Picture Card, and MMC (MultiMediaCard). These digital storage cards are used in many other devices such as digital cameras and portable music players. You can use the SDP2800 DVD player to present custom slide shows of your favorite digital snapshots.

Fast Recharge

If the battery runs low, you needn't wait long to view video again. The SDP2800's battery provides up to 4 hours of playback and features rapid recharge. The included car cord adapter lets you take your player on the road and use your car's cigarette lighter to power endless hours of movies and music.

Just received my Toshiba SD-P2800 from Vanns...it is an awesome player! I have had experience with various other portables over the years, and this is by far the best of the bunch. Screen size is a perfect 9.....not too small, and big enough for quality viewing and portability. The picture is incredible, with a newly designed screen that has finally eliminated the problems most portables have had with viewing angle. This has been fixed with a screen that has 800 x 480 LCD pixel resolution, and the new projection system called ISP In-Plane Switching. Has all the bells and whistles you would expect.....plays DVD, DVD-A, Video CD, DVD-R, Audio CD, MP3WMA Audio, DivX Video files, and can accommodate assorted Memory Cards. Sound quality is only minor weakness, just like with all portables I have seen, but with 2 headphone jacks, it is not a major issue. Another very important addition is having a Video Out and Video Input. Battery life is about 4 hours. Cant say enough good things about this player. The picture this little guy puts out is...amazing! One added bonus would be adding Vanns Extended or Replacement Warranty Protection...well worth getting. A quality piece of equipment, from a quality store.
