I owned a dinosaur Denon DVD player from 2000. It was noisy, picky with discs, lousy menu, but for its time had a great picture and sound for the price. I purchased a Samsung 750 LCD TV so it was time to upgrade. I am not ready to put down $300.00 for blu ray when they have not perfected it yet and Vanns had this player for a great price and free shipping so I jumped on it. The up converted picture sound and build quality is awesome for the price. My friend had just bought a Toshiba 1080p player that he had bought for $79.00 and after watching Role Models and SW V TESB, he backed it up and ordered the Denon. It is way quieter than my old Denon and so far it has had no trouble playing any discs. The only thing that I find annoying is that during a layer change Movies longer than 145 the player has a 1 12 - 2 second delay between layers. My old Denon did not do this. My friend also experiences this phenomenon, but is under the same opinion I am that for the picture quality, sound and price, it is not a deal breaker just a minor annoyance. I am just surprised that I am the only one to notice, but again for the money it is the best player out there.

I bought this player to play my CD,s and DVD-Audio Music CD,s. So far I have not tested for movies via HDMI to check the quality of this player. Everything works good has good sound but I found some small problems in it. I am using via RCA and on the t.v screen it dont show what or how much DB output to the amp so you can adjust for best sound quality, when you play DVD-audio discs it misses 2 seconds of sound from each song, Denon book says its down samples DVD-audio but on the screen its says 192,000khz for DVD-audio, I called Denon support they got more confused and told me they will let me know after 2 days, cause book is confusing seems like someone translated from Chinese to English, so I am still trying to find out all options on my own maybe I will write better book for this player. All options which I mentioned Denon has problems my older Pioneer dvd-player DV-656A plays and work great on all options, I just bought this player cause has Burr Brown DAC Digital Audio Converter in it which gives more clear, crispy sound than my pioneer.

Guys, Fed Ex is SLOW. Got that out of the way. Great deal Vanns. Eric was a fine salesman. The packaging was great. The product is great so far. A quiet player with awesome picture. I plugged it in where a low dollar off brand DVD player was. It has really good access speed. Easy to use. The output is through the component jacks w 480P, but Ill HDMI it later today. I cant wait to see the up-scaling. This is a great product. Ill be waiting for BlueRay discs to come down to earth and the player specs to stabilize, but Ill get great enjoyment from the equipment I own till then. Good job Vanns!

A nice overall unit at a great new low price. Sound and video are excellent. Remote is a little cheap feeling compared to my Denon receiver. Setup menu is not easy to understand without constantly referring to the manual. Also very picky about DVDs bought online from Asia. Get one it doesnt like and it starts to roll the picture and wont stop until you unplug it. I have a 5 year old player that will play the same DVDs with no problems at all. Recommended, but dont give your old one away just yet.

Good sound quality, Im actually using this for a cd and sacd player. My only complaint is it is noisy. Denon quality, but Id like it to be quieter. I have a 21 year old Kenwood cd player that is quieter!
