The DVDVR335 plays VHS tapes on its 4-head Hi-Fi VCR and lets you save them on DVD. Use the Dual Layer Recording feature to transfer hours of home video onto one disc. Play it back on an HDTV, via the 1080i/720p HDMI output (hooks up both VHS and DVD to your TV). It also features Samsung's Enhanced Video Quality and DivX playback functions.

So what's your pleasure? With the capabilities of the DVDVR335, you'll have a wide range of options to choose from. You can transfer content from your digital camcorder directly to DVD. You can copy your VHS tapes to DVD to save space and enjoy DVD's high quality for years to come. You can transfer DVD content to VHS so your family can watch footage of your latest vacation on their VCR. The DVDVR335 records to DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R, DVD+RW and DVD+R discs, in addition to VHS tapes. You can record up to about 16 hours with a double side 9.4 GB DVD-RAM disc, and up to about 8 hours with a 4.7 GB DVD-RAM, DVD-RW or DVD-R disc, depending on the recording mode. Dual layer recording lets you record on both +R and -R dual layer discs for more than 14 hours of programming.

Plays Great, Too

This is not just a recording machine. Watching DVD movies on this recorder is also a pleasure due to its progressive scan capabilities and 3:2 pulldown, especially if you have or are thinking about HD television. Progressive scan (480p) provides the highest resolution images you can squeeze out of a DVD, delivering them flicker-free to your HDTV screen. 720p/768p/1080i hi-def conversion means the DVDVR335 will get the most out of whatever your source, be it a DVD or VHS tape. The HDMI connection provides a high-quality single connection for all video sources. You get multi-angle viewing (from capable DVDs), frame advance and slow motion capability. In addition to DVD-Video, this unit plays DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD-RAM, CD, CD-R and CD-RW discs. It is compatible with MP3, JPEG and DivX DVDs and CDs. Talk about a useful piece of equipment to own. You could listen to your favorite music while you address the packages to send to the relatives with the DVD movies you just burned of baby's first steps. In other words, this one machine can do a lot.

Simple Transfer From Your Digital Camcorder

With the DVDVR335's front DV input (IEEE 1394), you can transfer and record video clips directly from the camcorder onto DVD discs. The built-in DV input enables the digital dubbing from the camcorder to DVD discs by simply connecting the DV cable. Simple as it is, your valuable images will be stored and preserved forever. The DV input is located on the front of the DVDVR335, so you'll appreciate the simplicity of connecting your camcorder without having to get to the back of the unit.

Simplified Recording

With Auto Chaptering, chapters are created when you record your favorite TV show or video clips from a cammcorder onto a DVD disc. The chaptes are automatically created which eliminates wasted time searching the whole DVD to find the right spot. Auto Fit Recording is another handy recording feature. When recording, the DVDVR335 automatically detects the remaining disc space and sets up the best recording mode. For instance, if you record a 90 minute length program on a single sided disc, the recorder sets the recording mode from XP to EP so that the program can be recorded completely without any loss due to disc capacity. Quick Startup recording means that when you press the REC button, the time it takes to start recording is only a second.
