We selected this DVD because we already purchased earlier Pioneer Elite Plazma TV and were very pleased with the quality of the product. Now our experience is enhanced with the great quality, lots of features that DVD Elite offers. It also works great with the same brand TV, very compatable. It was pleasure to do business with Vanns, delivery was fast, product properly packaged, and DVD arrived in newgreat condition! On top of that, no one can bit the price Vanns offers! We got a great deal! |

The Pioneer DV-48AV is one great little machine! I bought it almost exclusively for playing my SACDs and my DVD audio discs. The published specs show that the audio performance should be way above average. IT IS! In fact, this unit does everything my higher end Oppo DVD player does and MORE , and it does them BETTER!
Up convert your DVD’s up to 1080p , play your CDs , your SACDs , your DVD audio discs, your CD-R’s and your Divx files. Slap in a photo disc or plug in a USB drive right into the front of it for music andor photo playback. This truly is a wonderful machine.
All the ins and outs you would ever need on this type of unit. You name it, it has it. The build quality is way above average and it just has that look and feel of quality to it.
It is a very attractive unit, performs beyond my expectations and is currently priced so low I thought it was a typo.
Vanns shipping was quick and painless and the Pioneer DV-48AV was packed within a larger sturdier box with big bubble wrap for safety. GREAT! I am a happy customer and will return to Vanns in the future.

This is a great DVD player. I bought this when I ordered my LCD TV. The 1080p up convert is a great feature and adding the progressive scan finished it out well.
Most up converting DVD players have watered down video scalers that don’t do a good job. This DVD player will make regular DVDs look so close to HD is scary.
It worked great, hook it up with hdmi and the picture is amazing.

I recently bought a new 52 LCD TV, receiver, and center channel speaker. Hooking it all up along with my older components including DVD player and everything was great except the rear sound. Surround sound didnt sound good and a THX test disc showed the the right back speakers sound came from both back speakers. Out of phase sound was not right either. I tried another DVD player I had and it didnt work right either but was better.
I ordered one of the Pioneer Elite DV-48AV players due to the low cost, Pioneer Elite reputation, and reviews here and on other websites. Sound quality was important as I wanted good surround sound.
It was easy to connect with just a power plug and HDMI connection to the receiver. Putting in Top Gun and within minutes I was hearing distinct sounds from the rear I had never heard before. It was amazing. The THX test disc had no sound issues. All tests passed. The picture was good too but the sound improvement was most impressive. |

Could not be happpier with this DVD player, especially at this price-point. Crisp picture with great color. And the sound! This could and will be used as the main CD player in my system. Overall, the component topped my expectations. Definitely puts our old Sony DVD player to shame. |

Excellent upconverting dvd player..sound and picture top notch when upconverting through 1080P signal although my set is only 720P, it will accomodate a 1080p signal and then downconverts it to 1080i..Compared to my Sony 75H 1080i upconverter, it has better color saturation, finer resolution and sharpness, and better sound selections..The contrast and PQ are near HD levels comparing to HD channels from set top box, though not quite as refined, and the remote intuitive and easily accessed..If you are looking for an interim dvd player until Blu-Ray prices drop or just want an excellent standard dvd experience, this is the one for you..Vanns deal on this product is the best I found anywhere net or brick and mortar store and their service and ease to deal with top notch..highly recommend the product and Vanns..Would gladly do business with them again.. |

Wow, did I buy a new HDTV or a DVD player. I purchased the Pioneer elite DV-48AV DVD player and what a difference it made in picture and sound quality. I own a 50 inch Pioneer rear projection TV and when I hooked up the new Pioneer DV-48AV DVD player there was a noticable difference in picture and sound quality compared to my Toshiba DVD player that I thought did a good job. I cant wait to get a plasma now. I would recommend this Pioneer DVD player to anyone looking for great picture and sound quality. Pioneer Elite says it all, and thanks to Vanns great deal I now own one. |

I saw this elite DVD player shipped below $100, immediately ordered with no wait. Got the player in around 10 days and excited to hook it up to my Bose LS28 system. I had very high expectations since this is from Pioneer Elite series. Unfortunately the surround sound did not work. I fooled around for hours to make it work but for some reason the sound didnt come from center channel at all. I returned the product. But let me tell you all, VANNS is excellent in their service. They immediately honored my request sent me the free shipping label and refunded full money after they received the item. I will buy from them any time with no hesitation. Thank you Vanns. |
