A combination of great entertainment options
Worry no more about preserving your memories for the future. With the RDRVX560 DVD recorder and VHS combo player you can easily and quickly transfer your favorite recordings from DVD to VHS tape or the reverse. You can also connect directly to your set-top box or digital video recorder to record live TV or to burn saved shows onto DVD. An intuitive graphical interface makes programming and editing your recording easy. Multiple recording speeds let you record up to 14 hours of material. Plus, enjoy the convenience of one-touch recording from disc to tape or the reverse. The DVD deck lets you experience high-quality video playback from a wide variety of formats, including DVD, VCD, VCR, HVS, SVHS, music CD and more, with 1080p upscaling when connected with an HDMI connection. You can even control your DV and Digital8 camcorder for editing via the i.LINK interface.
More formats for fewer headaches
There's a lot of jargon these days about DVD formats and what's compatible with what. Sony has made things easier by designing the RDRVX560 DVD recorder to provide DVD+RW/+RW, DVD-RW/-R, and DVD+R DL format recording compatibility. One great thing that multiple format recording gives you is the ability to record a DVD that you know will play in a specified DVD player. In other words, you can call up your relatives and ask them what formats their DVD player is compatible with, then create a family reunion DVD that you know will play in their machine. No more guesswork. So while the rest of the industry decides which formats they prefer, Sony has decided to deliver them all. And of course when someone gives you a DVD they've burned themselves, you can be pretty sure that it will play in the RDRVX560.
Recording made easy
Set top box pass through allows for viewing of programming from your cable set top box or satellite receiver even when the recorder is powered off through the line input. You can see TV programs of the connected cable set top box or satellite receiver, regardless if the recorder is powered on or not. Two way one touch dubbing lets you dub from VHS to DVD or the reverse by pressing one button on the front of the unit. And one touch recording using the i.LINK interface makes it easy to copy your personal content on DV/Digital8 camcorders in order to preserve them for your family and friends. Operation couldn't be easier. Just press a button on the front panel.
HDMI and USB
The HDMI output on the RDRVX560 provides 1080p/1080i/720p upscaling for DVD and VHS. The player will read the data on a standard DVD or VHS at 480p and upscale the video to 1080p resolution on your compatible TV. Enjoy the finest in video performance while delivering digital video and audio over one simple cable. Using the USB connection, and one-touch dubbing, you can record your personal content directly from your digital camera, DVD camcorder, or hard drive camcorder to DVD by pressing one button on the front of the unit.
i.LINK
With the i.LINK DV Interface you'll have simple recording interaction between your compatible camcorder and the RDRVX560 DVD recorder. The included remote control operates both devices and activates one-touch dubbing, which copies the entire contents of a MiniDV or Digital8 tape with the press of a single button. You'll be able to effortlessly transfer all those family moments, fun adventures, and images on DVD for easy and long-term enjoyment. And, imagine being able to keep all those memories for the future on small, easy-to-store DVDs instead of clunky, space-hogging VHS tapes.

I purchased this Sony dvd and VHS recorder for my large VHS library.
I am able to play my VHS tapes as well as reord a new one.
But what I have found my self doing more of is transferring VHS to DVD for space saving and better picture quality. The dub feature makes it a snap.
The low price on this unit and Vanns NO SHIPPING COST or NO TAX comes as an NO CHARGE OPTION.
I sugeest this unit to any one but if you are like me just venturing into DVD from VHS it is great.

Being a video junkie from way back, I have over 300 VHS tapes, most with three movies on each. With the evolution of HDMI connectivity, I didnt think I would be watching them again. Then I saw this DVD-VHS player - recorder.
*It connects via HDMI, composite or component
*Transfers VHS to DVD
*Transfers DVD to VHS
*Records to both via line input - it has no tuner
Finally, I can watch my old tapes again!
