Catch a wave
Have your hands full? No problem with the DMP-BDT210. You can load your discs and start playback with just a wave of your hand. A motion sensor is provided on the top panel of your Blu-ray player. The BDT210's touch-free sensor lets you access your favorite media without even using the remote. So even when you "lose" your remote (is it under the couch this time?) or can't see the buttons clearly in a dark room, you can still access your Blu-ray player.
"Skype me!"
Skype has been one of the greatest innovations in tech in the past few decades. It allows you to keep in touch with friends and family across the street or across the globe through IM, telephone, or even video chatting. But until now it's had one major flaw: you have to be at your computer to use it. Panasonic's DMPBDT210 is changing the story, as one of the first Blu-ray players with Skype compatibility. With a separately-purchased compatible camera, you can videochat with those near to your heart from the comfort of your couch — even if they're nowhere near you geographically. A special button on the remote gives you instant access to the Skype menu and incoming ringtones alert you when someone's calling. For the times when you're not there, you can record a message on an SD card (sold separately) to greet callers, and they can record a video voice mail on the same card. Having Skype in your home theater may just be the most convenient, comfortable way to keep in touch. So go ahead, talk away!
An entertainment cornucopia: 3D, Wi-Fi, DNLA, and more!
You'd expect a Blu-ray player to play the Full HD 1080p video and uncompressed audio found on the latest Blu-ray discs, and the Panasonic DMPBDT210 does. But it also does a whole lot more. For starters, it's 3D capable, so if you have a 3D setup at home, the T210 will let you serve up larger-than life 3D effects. But this device has an advantage over other 3D players: control. Maybe you prefer enhanced depth to gimmicky, pop-out-of-the-screen effects. Well, with the 3D Effect Controller, you can set up your player to provide just that. Better still, 2D to 3D Conversion lets you upgrade your DVDs and 2D Blu-ray discs to artificial 3D. This player also offers a plethora of additional entertainment options. It's DLNA-compliant, so it can access media from other DLNA devices on your home network, meaning that it can play music, videos, or photos from a lot of computers on the big screen. Of course, you could also play back your personal media using one of the two USB ports or the SD slot. The built-in Wi-Fi also means easy wireless access to the internet. Better still, it's equipped with VIERA CAST, offering you access to content from tons of top providers including Netflix, YouTube, Pandora, Picasa, Twitter, Bloomberg, and Fox Sports. Note: some services require additional fees. Put it all together and you've almost got more media than you can handle.

I took a fair amount of time deciding on the Blue Ray player I wanted for the first time. I read a variety of different reviews and found a very solid lead for this Panasonic player. There seemed to be a reoccurent problem with the NetFlix app, but since I was not planning on using it, I can overlook that. What I found was a player that was extremely easy to set up, produced excellent pictures both DVD and Blue Ray, and had a huge array of apps that I may, in fact, start using. The controls are well laid out, and the on-screen navigation through the various functions play versus tools versus apps was fairly easy once I caught on to the logic. All in all, I am extremely impressed with my purchase.

The apps are nice, but somewhat finnicky at itmes...however this is not what i buy a blue-ray player for. So far, the quality has left me very satisfied!!!

I agonized for weeks over which Blu-Ray player to get my boyfriend for his birthday. I read the specifications and reviews on Amazon, this site, and Best Buy before making my decision. And I am so happy. This player is lightweight, compact, and incredibly easy to set up. The Amazon on Demand feature is awesome, as is the Pandora player. But the best part is the iPhone app that acts as a remote. The picture and sound are both incredible, and Im really glad I chose this one. I think its incredibly user-friendly and a good deal for the price. My only disappointment with my order - and this has nothing to do with the product - is that Vanns didnt even box the product to ship it. I left a note saying it was okay for the FedEx guy to leave the box at the door, not knowing it would just be a Blu-Ray player box with a shipping label slapped on it. I was pretty shocked when I got home and saw it was just sitting there, and pleasantly surprised no one had stolen it. Not the greatest customer service.

Bought the 210 after reading a review online, let me start off with the fact that it is an awesome player. Especially getting bonus points for its performance at this price point. While it doesnt have internal storage you would just have to add a SD card, but these are very cheap. Lots of features packed into this device - DNLA, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, USBSD playback, Pandora, and a ton of other apps accessible. BD playback has quick load times and very good picture quality color reproduction is not affected by the onboard processing. Also liking the sensor that openscloses the disc tray, thought it was kind of corny before my purchase but I use it every time. One note is that the player is wide, didnt fit in my entertainment center cabinet.

I bought this Blu-ray player to replace the Sharp Aquos I had owned previously which was horrendous as it wouldnt even play discs right, let alone stream any content. The Panasonic is very slim and setting it up is very easy and straightforward, only had to connect the power cable, HDMI to my TV, and optical cable to the amplifier. The player guides you through an easy setup the moment you turn it on for basic settings. It connected to my home wi-fi without any issues and streams with no lags or hesitation. Netflix and youtube are the only features Ive used so far, however I can report these work perfectly. The menu interface is very likable and being able to use any picture as the background makes it great for customization. As expected, the quality of the Blu-ray discs is spot on and DVDs do look better as this upscales it more than other players. There are of course lots of different settings that let you tweak this feature and more. I highly recommend it to anyone, the motion sensor to eject the disc tray works great, I love using it!

CEC-enabled HDMI and pure speed are the big reasons I bought this. CEC-HDMI allows me to operate this player with my receiver remote, which also happens to be my iPad - bliss.
Fast to get a movie, in and started - I was a PS3 hold-out, thinking that nothing could eclipse the all-in-oner... This is a very nice upgrade.

They should have made it easier to see when the unit is turned on small front display . And I get buffering once in awhile...when streaming Netflix or playing a DVD. Not often enough to send back but enough to annoy. Thus the 4 star for performance. Loads fast and great picture. Vanns provided courtious sales person and fast shipping which was free.

The player played movies fine, my main complaint was with the Wi-Fi. My unit would not stay connected to the internet. After I shut it off , I would always have to re enter my security code .
Even then while the settings said I was connected when I tried to open an internet app, it always said unable to connect.
I called Panasonic, they said call tha cable co, they said call the router co. they said call the cable co back. After two hours on the phone, with no results I gave up.
I did do a firmware update, so I know it could connect and send data.
My other wi-fi player has never had any of those kind of problems.
Also the Remote can NOT be set to any TV brand other than Panasonic. to me, a big inconvience not being able to control my TV with the remote. My other brand unit can do this.

I have another Panasonic Blu-ray player that is not 3D. I bought this one because I wanted a 3D player though there are few 3D disks out that I would want to own at this point. I bought it mostly because I was intrigued with the 2D to 3D upgrade option. I have tried this out a little and found it interesting, but not compelling. It is certainly not as intense a 3D experience as when viewing movies that were actually shot in 3D, but that is understandable.
I should say that I have not yet gotten around to installing firmware updates and that might improve performance.
One thing that is disconcerting is that the remote for my non-3D Panasonic Blu-ray player seems to control my 3D Blu-ray player as well. There may be a way to change the coding to avoid this, but I have not gotten around to that as yet either.
It would have been nice if there had been two HDMI outputs on this unit so that I could plug one into my Panasonic 3D TV when I wanted to watch 3D and then run the other through my non-3D Onkyo receiver. I am not yet ready to buy a new 3D receiver. I have the 3D Blu-ray player pluged into a port on the 3D TV. As a result starting the Blu-ray or DVD playing sometime shifts the input on my TV from the receiver to the dedicated Blu-ray input. I think this happens only when there is disk in both machines because starting a disk playing on one of these machines generally overrides so that the Blu-ray player will become the active input even when only the receiver is involved.
