Great player! Excellent quality on my 8 yr. old HD TV. Easy to set up, and good support from Samsung. Smart Hub apps. are available. Some are just OK, e.g., Pandora. I am very pleased with the speed of delivery from Vanns, the price, and everything. Would not hesitate to order from Vanns again.

This product was easy to set up with the instructions. Blu-ray discs play great, not fast in loading, but not a problem. I have been streaming Netflix with no problem. It takes a little while to get used to the navigation menu, after that, no problem. This was a great buy. I am thinking about possibly getting another one. Im still exploring options on other media products.

I had earlier purchased Blu Ray and needed another one with 3D. When I have to wait & watch - believe me its Vanns I look for. Although, I regularly visit Amazon and eBay, but there are some exciting deals which you can never win elsewhere. BD-D6500 is Wi-Fi with 1GB and loaded with plenty of applications. Look no where else. The front slot softly sucks Disc, and has good skip functionality when disc is not good. I got my Sony HD Handycam financed at 0 interest. The open-box deals are quite good, and one can protect with purchased warranty. They are always like new with factory warranty. As it is after 12 months an entire new product will hit market then it does not hurt to replace. Regards,

Recently purchased the Samsung BD-D6500 Bluray player to replace a Sony bluray player. I have used the player for approximately 1 month and it is excellent. I prefer the user interface of the samsung over the sony. The interface is very intuitive and easy to use. Setup was relatively easy. Setting up the internet was very easy using a wired connection. Plugged in the unit and I could start streaming from my windows media servers. The only issue that I had with the setup was a result of having an older television. I have a samsung but I imagine others will have the same issue. The default for bluray playback on the player is 24 fps. My television needs 60 Hz. So when I put a bluray into the player, my television an older samsung would lose connection. Called samsung customer service no luck fixing the problem. After much google search I stumbled on the solution. Basically all you have to do is go into settings and change the movie mode from auto to off. Once I did that, the player works great with bluray discs. I would recommend this player, especially for the price.

The unit arrived in perfectly good condition. Vanns has lived up to its reputation of making sure that the merchandise delivered is in The unit worked as advertised. It was easy to install and worked as expected. There were minor glitches like a white flash occuring when it plays DVD but this was solved by changing to a longer HDMI cable. This unit is 3D but my amplifier is not 3d as well as my Samsung TV, but everything works fine now. The wireless function is really good as I can watch Netflix and stream music to my amp. And yes, it boots fast also, maybe three times or more faster than my old Sony Blu-Ray player. The remote controller needs some upgrading, with a backlight. It is difficult to find the buttons when the lights are out. The audio is a big improvement from my 5.1 channel. Now my 7.1 system is complete. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase - at its price it is a good deal.

Purchased this player this week. I purchased this specific player for the specs say 2D to 3D conversion. This is wrong. It will only do 3D to 2D conversion. Other than that the player plays well and I have not used the 3D feature as of yet because I only have 2D discs. The apps our fine. It does have some errors connecting to the network. I am wired in. States that I am connected but when bringing up an App or internet connection it sometimes errors out stating it does not have a connection. All in all it looks good, but I am disappointed in the wrong specs provided.

The picture and styling of this unit is great. Trying to connect to an app on the internet is a pain. Once is works usually a few tries it is great but sometimes I give up and go to my other room and use my Panasonic. This Samsung is hardwired to the internet and my Panasonic is connected by wifi but the Panasonic blows this one out of the water in the internet category. I even tried the Samsung with the wireless feature and it is worse that way. Maybe I got a lemon? The Blu Ray picture is great so I will keep it but I would not buy it again.

This player is sleek and easy to use. The wireless set up in just a few minutes and though my connection is stone-age, what I can download is efficient, effective and flawless. This Blu-ray player was bought as a Christmas present from my wife to me. We have a 2011 Samsung LED TV that we are very pleased with. This player is for an older Panasonic Plasma TV that needs the component video connections that a lot of the newer Blu-ray players dont have. The built-in WiFi was something else that I wanted. Since It will be Christmas before I actually hook it up all I can comment on is the fast delivery and the great shape the package was in when it arrived. Ive bought a number of items from Vanns in the past, and have always been very satisfied with my purchases and their competitive pricing. Samsungs reputation and reliability is second to none, so Im confident that I will be more than happy with this player.

This is the second, DVDBlu-Ray wiith built in Wi-Fi that I have bought. It was a no brainer for me. This was an upgrade to the last one as it also includes 3D. The Wi-Fi is a snap to set up and wiith this one I didnt even need to install any upgrades. We use it for Netflix...A LOT!!! Also the blu-ray boots up fast and we are not waiting around for the player to warm up as many of the players out there do.

This is the second Samsung Bluray player that I have purchased and this one is great. The built in wireless seems to be okay but not as good as my laptop. Have not tried the 3D. Nice to have the either remote work for both the TV Samsung also and the player.

For the price this was a no brainer and I recommend it. The startup tiime seems to be a bit faster than my older unit so that is an improvement.

The one thing that does bother me with this unit is that it does not play all file formats when you have a hard drive attached. M2TS is not supported but most are but if it played all formats then I would have given it a 5 Star rating. I now have to hook my laptop up to the tv to play certain files.

Bought this because of its internal wi-fi. I found it very easy to connect it to my wireless network. Streams very well and seems to read movies quickly. It has a very slim and sleek design. We subscribe to Net-Flix and the remote has a one touch Net-Flix button on it. My wife thinks this is a cool feature. This player allows you to surf all of the watch instantly Net-Flix movies on the screen. Our older Samsung player requires us to first upload movies to the watch instantly feature. This older player is hard wired. I believe the BDD6500 streams movies faster even though its connected via wi-fi. I am very satisfied with this player. This player did not come with batteries for the remote or an HDMI cable. I needed to buy those separately. I would recommend this player.

After reading reviews on this player,decided to purchase it. I found it easy to hook up and the first thing I did was check for a firmware update. It was already loaded with the latest. I am using a hard wired network connection. Found the menus easy to use and was playing a movie in no time. Great picture and sound. Next I tried the aps. No problems there. From what I have experienced in the week I have owned it, it is a very good and easy to use player. Have not tried the 3d yet.

This is my first Blu-Ray player. I am not able to compare to any other. I was looking for something very specific for my setup. My basic 2 requirements were Wireless connectivity and 3D. The wireless connectivity did not work right out of the box for me. I actually had to make a change on my router to accept both WPA and WPA2 connections. Fortunately, my router allows for the change I needed. Before I was able to test the 3D, I spent some time going thru all of the video settings on the player to research an issue that was preventing the player from working properly with my Mitsubishi 73C10 DLP. I had to turn off a feature on the player regarding HDMI color enhancement. No problems since then. I purchased the 3D starter kit for my TV to work with this player and would like to say that is has been glitch free. I was able to watch 3D content and have only watched one entire movie in 3D. My first attempt however included a restart of everything to get it working properly. The player kept freezing on me right at the beginning of the movie even though the previews played fine. I will need to see a few more work hassle free before I am satisfied with compatibility and ease of use. I am not a good judge of the Internet apps. However, I really like Pandora Internet radio and the personalized stations based on interest. I am not a Netflix subscriber and have much to learn regarding the Internet apps. Overall Im satisfied but a little concerned with the issues I have had so far.

The BD-D6500 is a jewel of a piece because of its ease of operation. The capability of watching your 2D discs in 3D is very nice feature and adds depth to the movies that you already own. With the built-in Wi-Fi and Samsung Smart TV hook up you can connect directly to online music and video sources like Netflix-Pandora and others. Looks -- Sleek, very slim and stylish.
Goods -- Seamless set-up, excellent picture quality and it plays nice-nice with my Denon AVR-1911 receiver, Mirage Nanosats and Samsung 46 3D-LED. This is due in part to the available options that let your receiver tweak the audio & video. The built-in WiFi is also a huge plus. A tad slow connecting, but extremely convenient when streaming content from subscription services like Netflix.
Drawbacks -- The onscreen menus are a little clunky. But what they lack in style, they make up for in ease of use. Also, the unit works flawlessly, but compared to my old BD player – my PS3 – it is a little slow loading discs and connecting to web services over WiFi. Minor details really.
Summary -- High quality BD, DVD, and streaming playback for a good price. Works for me.

Just received the 3D Samsung Blu Ray player. Got it delivered in three days. Extremely easy to set up with the unit leading me through the process each step at a time. The unit looks great and is classy looking. I have a Samsung TV and the remote on both the TV and DVD player work together which gives you two remotes to use with both units. The picture quality is excellent and it inhances the quality of non Blu Ray movies. The unit is wireless so all you need is a router that is fast enough to handle the streaming. So far I am completely satisfied with the Samsung.

Have owned for two weeks and watched several Blu-Ray movies reference quality. Pros Good wifi, connected after 1 or 2 attempts. Decent menus. Good apps preloaded. Easy access to chapter search, etc. While viewing a movie. Fairly fast load times for Blu-Rays. Cons In first speed FF search it mutes the sound. Had Panasonic BD 55 and the FF mode still played sound until advanced past 2nd speed-nice at times. This player was a replacement for the Panasonic BD 55 we had since Blu-Rays first become popular 2 yrs. Only reason for replacement was Wifi and desire to see Netflix, etc. in higher resolution. Currently we only had the Wii terrible resolution and component only connection. Using with HDMI through AV receiver only-not with TV. Our TV is used only as a monitor Plasma 50 with ONKYO TX-NR906 and Klipsch reference series fronts, center, sub, surrounds in a 5.1 configuration.
