PC-Free Digital Imaging

This kit not only contains everything you need to shoot digital photos, it also includes everything you need to print them. In one box, you get a PowerShot A10 camera, with 1.3 Megapixel performance and 3x optical zoom. You also get the CP-10 Card Photo Printer, which prints out full color photos about the size of a business card directly from the digital camera. You don't even have to plug the printer into an outlet. Just connect the interface cable and you're ready to go. So if you don't have a PC or don't want to bother with connecting all the extras, this is the system for you. PowerShot A10

The 1.3 Megapixel camera included in this kit provides everything you'd expect from a PowerShot camera. With 3x optical and 2x digital zoom, you can get close to subjects that normally would be too small in your image to be recognized as the subject of the photo. You get a built-in flash with red-eye reduction and other modes, and auto/preset white balance that lets you adjust for different lighting conditions. The camera uses CompactFlash cards (Type I) and an 8MB card is provided to get you started. A USB interface makes connection to a PC quick and easy. You can capture images in superfine, fine, and normal compression settings to yield 1280 x 960, 1024 x 768, or 640 x 480 pixel images. And, all this comes in a camera that is just over 4 inches wide and under 3 inches high.

Direct Printing

The CP-10 Card Photo Printer is a complete printing system in an extremely compact unit. You don't need to enter data from your PowerShot camera into a personal computer and then into the computer's printer. A dedicated cable connects the A10 PowerShot directly to the printer. Because all of the necessary controls and bundled software are already a part of your PowerShot camera, they aren't necessary on the printer, keeping weight and bulk to a minimum.

Big On Quality

This photo printer produces color prints that equal the sharpness and durability of prints from film negatives. The printer's resolution is 300 x 300 dpi, more than adequate for a crisply detailed business card-sized image from the PowerShot A10 camera. The dye sublimation color process precisely controls the flow of ink, resulting in subtle shadings and realistic colors. The printer also covers each print with a clear, protective overcoating that protects it from the effects of sunlight and weather. The prints from this printer are at least as durable as the prints you would pick up at your local photo lab, and you don't have to wait an hour or more to get your hands on them.

This camera used to be,more than 3 years ago, rated Number 1 in all digital camera reviews and buyer's guides. Today's cameras have higher resolutions, but that doesn't make them better. The key features for a digital camera should be:

1- Easy-to-use buttons/controls/menus/settings
2- Image Sharpness and Color Accuracy
3- Battery Consumption and Versatility
4- Memory Card Type and Compatibility
5- Image size and printability.

Well guess what? This camera has it all !

1- The settings menus and control buttons are intuitive, so you can get back to shooting the action A.S.A.P. !

2- Image clarity: it's CANON's all glass lens system, need I say more ?

3- Even regular alkaline batteries, can last the whole day on "FINE" quality setting ! Can also use rechargeable NiMH batteries to save you money.

4- CompactFlash is THE most widely used and reliable Memory Card format. This camera includes an 8 MB card which can store up to 39 pictures in FINE mode. Eventually, you will love this camera so much you will end up buying more memory. And, because it is the most popular format, it is the cheapest !

5- The image sizes are small enough to be sent in e-mails, look good on web pages and can also be printed on wallet size, 4x6, and 5x7 photo paper !

In conclusion, if you want to save time, money, and aggravation (with Hi-Tech digital cameras) get the Canon A10. I bought 16 A10's on behalf of my "not so techy" friends and their family members.
