And with the touch of a button on the included remote, BRAVIA Theater Sync lets you manage select Sony HDMI components quickly and effortlessly. You can also enjoy simplified integration of portable music players and other optional Digital Media Port (DMP) accessories with the DMP and front-mounted connections that enhance audio with Digital Signal Processing. The DAVHDX500i even features a 5-DVD/CD changer that upscales standard 480p DVDs to 1080p resolution (requires compatible television). In addition to playing from a wide range of music sources, the DAVDX500i boasts automatic calibration that delivers optimal sound from speakers, no matter where they are placed.

Getting The Most

View 1080p video resolution upscaled from a standard 480p DVD on your HDMI-compatible TV. This allows you to enjoy the best video performance while delivering digital video and audio over one simple cable. The DAVHDX500 lets you hook up an optional Connect-and-Play antenna and experience the variety of digital radio with the superior sound quality of an A/V receiver (XM-Radio subscription required). You also have the ability to integrate a wide variety of music with your home theater system. Add a Digital Media Port (DMMP) accessory (sold separately) to play music from a PC client device, Bluetooth receiver, of from select Network Walkman or iPod digital music players.

Enjoy better sound as the automatic calibration system adjusts for speaker placement, distance and delay. Just hold the included microphone at your listening position and Digital Signal Processing does the rest. You can easily connect your portable player to the front-mounted audio and video connections and listen as Digital Signal Processing expands the quality of any device that is connected. Selecting individual speaker layouts is simple from the convenient on-screen display. With movie and music modes, the DAVHDX500 automatically optimizes sound characteristics for movies or music.

BRAVIA Theater Sync

Go beyond simple audio and video transmission with the "one-touch play" remote control feature that allows you to easily manage select BRAVIA televisions and Sony HDMI audio and video components with a single remote.

Digital Media Port

As the demand for digital content continues to be strong, here's the challenge: how do you integrate music in various forms into a home theater system? The answer: Sony's DIGITAL MEDIA PORT (DMP). Together with the included TDM-iP1 iPod Cradle, this proprietary interface adds iPod connectivity to the system - making listening to your music the way you want even easier. So, regardless of how you store your music, Sony's DIGITAL MEDIA PORT offers an access point to integrate your portable music into a traditional home theater system.

The Sony DAV-HDX500i is an excellent home theater system. The sound is great and it is extremely user friendly. The hookup is practically mistake proof with everything basically color coded both at the speakers and at the player.
