Onkyo's namesake
"Onkyo" derives from Japanese on meaning sound and kyo meaning harmony. The company has been producing precision audio components for over a half-century. The company's philosophy is to deliver products that are superbly designed and built to a consistently outstanding standard of excellence. Today, Onkyo is at the forefront of the home theater and digital revolutions. For more information about this and other fine Onkyo products, visit www.onkyousa.com.
Your product at hand, the HT-S6100 home theater in a box, includes a powerful 1200W (130 x 7) A/V receiver as well as seven speakers plus a powered subwoofer cranking out a maximum of 290W of bass. Remote control and an iPod dock are all included. Make this beautiful set the center of your home theater today!
7-channel receiver power!
The included HT-R667 A/V receiver breaks new ground in the mid-range category by featuring not only the lossless audio codecs, Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD® Master Audio, but also the most advanced version of HDMI (ver. 1.3a). And with a wealth of other class-leading features — 1080p video processing, Audyssey's MultEQ® XT technology for room calibration and advanced processing devices from Texas Instruments and Cirrus Logic — nothing has been sacrificed in the making of this remarkable home theater component. To support progressive scan, the HT-R667 features a deinterlacing chip with Faroudja DCDi Edge™ (Directional Correlational Deinterlacing). This technology helps to effectively eliminate video artifacts from HDTV images.
Ilidad and Audyssey MultiEQ XT
With unquestionably no relation to Homer's epic poems of the Trojan War, Audyssey MultiEQ XT automatic speaker calibration provides remarkable improvements in performance by calibrating the home theater system to its acoustical environment. With this system, the included calibration microphone is used to analyze the system's acoustical output at up to eight unique positions in the listening area. By taking readings in different locations in the theater room, with the microphone placed at the listening positions, the receiver sends test signals to each speaker in turn, then uses the input from the microphone to adjust both frequency response and time domain corrections for each speaker throughout the entire listening area, rather than just at a single position.
Get big sound on your little iPod
Onkyo designed this receiver to take complete advantage of the company's included Remote Interactive iPod dock/charger unit. With the iPod (sold separately) placed in the dock, it becomes a source component for not only audio playback, but also for photography stored in iPod photo units. Basic iPod controls such as play, pause, stop, skip, and random/repeat functions can all be operated via the HT-R667's preprogrammed learning back-lit remote control.

I purchased this system approx.one month ago and all I can say is WOW!!It is super easy to set up and it sounds awesome. This is my second onkyo h.t.i.b.system,I also have a seperate onkyo receiver for my outdoor patio speakers. All I can say is that onkyo is the best,If you want high quality electronics for the price I highly recommend onky. However, I did upgrade the speaker wires because the wires that come with the system are a bit to thin. Also,The ipod dock is the best thing since sliced bread,What a great added feature. So,with that said,I highly recommend this system.Thank you very much vanns for the great price and the very fast shipping you guys are AWESOME!!!!!

I purchased this system about a week ago and have been playing with it for two days. Let me tell you I was amazed at the sound this machine produces. Firstly Setup was simple, color coded wiring from receiver to speakers was a breeze, one issue I found is that the wiring for the rear speakers where not long enough and let me tell you they where tiny. I will be upgrading all my wiring this week.
I tested it with my PS3 blue ray Transformers movie.... WOW... There were sounds that I never heard before, honestly.. I was just extremely happy!!!
I then connected my ipod to the dock and did not know that you can control every menu from the remote control. That definitely was a plus!!! Sound was once again amazing.
The subwoofer is huge, and produces a beautiful deep low sound that literally shakes the room. Not like my old Sony system that sounded distorted when you put it up too loud.
I heard people complain about the size of the speakers, but let me tell you they are stylish. They have a sophisticated clean shiny finish that although big, are very nice and look like sculptures rather than speakers.
This system has connections galore... I do not have enough things to connect to all the inputs this thing has, plus 4 HDMI inputs.. cant beat that.
Overall I think that you can not beat the Quality and performance you get with this system for the price. My dad has the BOSE system and I feel glad to say I spent thousands less and have a far superior system that cant touch the sound performance of this ONKYO system.
I would gladly recommend this product to anyone!!!

I was looking to upgrade worn out speakers and receiver, and a HTIB seemed to be the way to go. This system is killer!!! The price is perfect and the features are top-notch. I have it hooked up to a 65 1080p tv, dish network HD reciever and a PS3. Ive never heard better sound in true HD untill now.
My favorite feature is when using HDMI cables you get both video and sound in one cable. Hands down great system and great buy, I see no need to spend $1000 on a system. The speakers and sub sound amazing!!! This is worth every penny no question.

Purchased the system based on reviews, but found it was even better than expected!
Installation was strait forward with a good manual. Worked right out of the box without any trouble shooting whatsoever.
Lots of inputs, and I like the hdmi pass through feature -- you can also set it for up-converison to 1080i if your device supports lower resolutions. The inputs are also assignable. Very configurable.
Loads of audio features and settings within the menu system. The auto setup of the speakers made the listening level quite accurate.
Its nice to have full control of inputs and audio features at the front of the receiver with the touch of a button.
Well the sound --- nothing but superb!
Very satisfied with my purchase! Thanks!
