Additionally, the CS-700 serves as a hub for wirelessly transmitting CD-quality audio to not only its local subwoofer, but also other related Klipsch products such as the new RoomGroove Music Center. Sold separately, the RoomGroove requires no wiring beyond a power cord and has a retractable iPod dock. Alone, each product is engineered to be a top performer in its category, but together the CS-700 and one or more RoomGroove units let users "build" a high-performance multi-room audio system that wirelessly streams music, TV or movie sound all over the house.

How does it work?

Simply, through KlipschCast, the CS-700 sends a wireless audio signal to one or more RoomGrooves. This signal can be the same one playing on the CS-700 or something entirely different. The CS-700 is capable of playing up to two separate sources at the same time. For example, the CS-700 can play a DVD movie in the living room, while the RoomGroove broadcasts the CS-700's AM/FM tuner in the kitchen.

A clean, modern design

Available in a sleek black finish, the CS-700 home entertainment system offers a clean, modern design that fits comfortably into any living environment. Essentially plug-and-play, it can be operating in as little as 10 minutes. All it takes is hooking the satellites and TV up to the A/V center using the color-coded wiring, then plugging in the A/V center's power cord. With respect to the subwoofer, all you have to do is plug its power cord into the wall; no other connections are needed.

Upconversion

The CS-700 home theater's A/V center has an up-converting DVD player that is capable of delivering a 1080i resolution via its HDMI output, so the signal matches the amazing resolution capability of an HD television. It also features an AM/FM tuner and three auxiliary inputs, allowing users to connect other audio devices to the unit. A universal IR remote control directs all system functions, as well as those of the TV and other entertainment devices.

2.4GHz wireless technology

The robust 2.4GHz wireless technology found in the CS-700 and RoomGroove products offers unlimited add-on opportunities. Plus, the technology "sniffs out" the entire 2.4GHz band to detect other wireless technologies in use, such as wireless routers, and then transmits around the spectrum used by those sources. The home code dial on each of these wireless speakers allows you to select a code specific to all of your units to avoid interference from neighbor systems.

When first bought, excellant sound and performance. I am currently getting ready to have it warranty replaced for the third time in less than a year. All three times the wireless went out and once the audio sync was out with the wireless. Klipsch speakers are great but the head unit is crap!!

I bought this home theater system because I previously owned a pair of Klipsch room grooves. The wireless feature enables me to use these two speakers to configure my system into a five speaker setup. While I dont pretend to be an audiophile this system delivers a nice crisp sound at all volume levels.I have only watched several movies on it to date and I greatly appreciated the surround sound . I have had it a week and have primarily used it to listen to cds and satelite radio and believe me it has greatly enhanced my listening pleasure. My only complaint is the am fm reception is almost nonexistent,I get better from a 30$ clock radio. Not a big deal as the no commercial satelite channels from dish network satisfy my listening needs. Give Klipsch a try, I dont think you will be disappointed.

We purchased the CS-700 a couple of months ago for use in our condo and overall are very pleased. There have been a few annoyances. We connected our TV to the system using an HDMI cable and noticed that the picture was out of sync with the sound. Klipsch support was quick to respond to my support inquiry and sent a firmware update which solved the problem. The unit also has a progressive scan mode which would be cool to use but it requires the use of component cables something I didnt realize until after buying the HDMI. The remote also takes some getting used to for example if a movie is paused and you push play twice it skips to the next chapter.
That having been said, this is a very cool unit. The compact size of the main unit makes it a good choice if you dont have a lot of space. The speakers are beautiful and sound to match. The last surround system we had worked fine for movies but sounded terrible playing music this unit is great for both. The wireless subwoofer is very easy to set up and we love that you dont have to run any cables to it. For small to medium sized rooms, I dont think there is a better choice for the money than the CS-700.

I received my CS-700 a week after my order shipped ground at no cost. I must say I am very impressed with the system. I have it set up in my bedroom. The CS-700 system plays all my media without flaw even at high volume levels, no distortion. Im going to get another one, maybe 2 more soon.
There is one feature I do not like though but its very minor. The display is in blue and is difficult to see from about 10 feet.
For a reference, this 2-1 system blows away my Bose system. and its not even close!

This is by far the best 2.1 system on the face of the earth. Loud, clear, thumping base and the price is right. Did I mention the wireless sub-woofer? Set-up is a snap, 10 minutes and you are on your way. The receiverDVD player are high quality...the up-conversion is better than many HD-DVD and Blue-Ray players I have seen. This is a must for the minimalist and the audiophilevideophile alike. On top of all this, VANNS service is second to none.
