Fully equipped for high definition
Progress is constant with Onkyo packaged home theater. That's just what you’ll find with the HTS3200 5.1-channel receiver/speaker package, which offers more breakthrough technology than ever before at the entry level. With HDMI passthrough for high definition video, this is a convenient solution that allows you to enjoy Blu-ray Disc, DVD, broadcast, and gaming sources. You can partner this package with whichever display suits your budget and achieve truly performance-driven home theater. Enjoy the benefits of tailored audio performance via a full suite of Audyssey technologies, including Audyssey EQ, Audyssey Dynamic EQ, and Audyssey Dynamic Volume. You can even integrate an iPod or MP3 player via a front-panel input, or take advantage of Onkyo's new DSP modes for gaming: Rock, Sports, Action, or Role Playing Game (RPG).
A suite of Audyssey technologies for the ideal listening environment
The HTS3200 has three Audyssey technologies to help create the most suitable listening environment for your home. Audyssey EQ for system equalization removes much of the distortion caused by speaker enclosures and the typical room environment. It produces far superior sound than on comparable products that lack correction capabilities. Audyssey Dynamic Volume maintains the desired listening level for all content while optimizing dynamic range. And Audyssey Dynamic EQ for loudness correction solves the problem of deteriorating sound quality at lower volumes.
Impressive sonic developments
This superbly designed HTR370 home theater receiver combines Onkyo's traditional strengths of sound quality and construction quality with even more impressive sonic developments. These advances assure you of the highest quality audio and overall outstanding home theater performance, like Dolby Pro Logic II, a surround sound decoding process that delivers Dolby Digital-like quasi 5.1-channel sound from stereo music recordings and from stereo and Dolby Surround encoded movie soundtracks. It also provides significantly better channel separation than standard Dolby Pro Logic, and offers stereo surround channels, which is a big improvement over Pro Logic's single, mono surround channel. In addition, you have all the excitement of Dolby Digital and DTS Neo:6 surround sound for maximum movie enjoyment from DVDs and other sources with Dolby Digital or DTS soundtracks.
And more
A new addition to Onkyo home theater, four gaming modes create more realism and impact in your gaming routine. You can select from Rock, Sports, Action, or Role Playing Game modes to match your gaming content. You can also connect an iPod or other MP3 player to the receiver's front panel for playback. Your player's compressed digital music files receive a quality boost thanks to the HTS3200's Music Optimizer technology. While MP3 or AAC files may sound fine on a portable digital player, the limitations of these compressed files can be exposed when played back through a home theater system. Onkyo has designed onboard Music Optimizer technology to improve the quality of the compressed audio signals.
Included with purchase
AV receiver HTR370, 5.1 channel speaker system, remote control with batteries, indoor FM antenna, AM loop antenna, speaker cables, RCA cable for subwoofer connection.

My Onkyo system came on time and in great shape. The packaging was wonderful and you can definitely tell it was taken care of.
Setup was a breeze - Onkyo includes a quick start guide to help with all of the wiring that is pretty much fool-proof.
I would recommend this system to anyone looking to get into the HT market. The speakers are clear, the bass is clean, and it all looks nice.

I really love this surround sound. The installation was really simple. Everything was color coded making it easy to match the wire to the receiver. I like that you can adjust the subwoofer to hit hard or soft. The only disappointing feature is the HDMI hook up is video only and not audio and video. I really like the set up Onkyo has, they even included a diagram of proper speaker placement to obtain optimal sound. I really did my research before making the purchase and this is an excellent surround sound system for a good price. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone.

I am truly happy with this system, I picked it after spending about 3 weeks doing research. Its my first surround system and I didnt want to spend too much yet I wanted something that was going to sound decent and bug my neighbors. This did not just the trick but more! The sound is crisp, the sub can shake things up and they look very classyshiny. Very powerful! I still have a lot of tweaking to do so i dont get harrassed by the neighbors.
Only problem I had was getting an extra optical cable thinking that HDMI would provide video and sound, regardless tho its always a good thing to have an optical cable around. Interface is a little tricky at first but after a couple hours its second nature.
I read a lot of reviews complaining about the cables but for me they worked perfectly, had enough cable length to spare.

After shopping around, I found the Onkyo Ht-S3200 Home theater System to be a great value. The quick set-up manual was straight forward and easy to follow. The color coded wiring instructions were a snap. This unit included the HDMI features that I needed and has a robust set of device connections and room and listening options. The unit gets warm so youll want to set it up with good ventilation in mind. I set this up in is a medium size room. I liked that you can adjust the separation and volume of each speaker to please your listening preferences. The Sub-woofer is not powered but has plenty of punch to make this system rattle the windows if thats what youre looking for. All in all I am very pleased with this unit for the price and performance.

Great connectivity...Ive hooked up my PS3 and HD DVRCable Box and Samsung HDTV to the receiver. Easy to set up...wires are color coded for each speaker. ONE WARNING the HDMI pass through system means that NO AUDIO is carried to the receiver with the HDMI cables alone. You have to purchase separate audio cables I purchased optical digital audio cables . This was a surprise to me, but not a big deal once I figured it out....just an extra expense.

I had a Panasonic home theater system that went down just over a year old and couldnt use the speakers, Ipod dock, dvd player, etc. So, it made more sense to get separate components. Onkyo has a great reputation and for the money spent, this system cant be beat. Had to call their customer service and they were patient and knowledgeable. I have connected it to a PS3 and a Samsung HDTV 46 B650. I connected my Ipod with a simple AV wire and everything sounds awesome. Dont think twice if this is among the choices you are considering.

I have a very high-end home AV system in my living room. I wanted something inexpensive to use in our bedroom so my wife and I could watch movies while lying in bed. The Onkyo HT-S3200 home AV system is exactly what I was looking for.
Onkyo packs a lot of features and quality into such a low-cost system. The product specifications speak for themselves, so I wont post them here. This is not an audiophile system, so I would not compare it with one. That being said, this system provides a lot of features and very good sound for so little money spent.
The 110 watt per channel receiver has ample power to fill a bedroom or average-sized living room with sound. The subwoofer provides very good base and compliments the smaller satellite speakers very well. The satellite speaker enclosures are plastic, but there is no rattle from these speakers even at high volume, and they provide very acceptable clarity. I used the included speaker wire for this setup, which looks like it is probably 20-gauge wire. Speaker inputs are color-coded to match the provided speaker wiring making connections very simple. Even better sound might be obtained using 14 or 16 gauge wire, but for my purpose it was unnecessary.
The receiver has two optical inputs for better sound. I used these for our satellite TV and blu-ray player. It would have been nice to have more optical inputs for other things, but thats a lot to ask for this price range. The HDMI input is pass-through -- it does not provide sound to the receiver -- so you will want to use either coaxial or optical inputs for best quality sound.
My only complaint with this system is the volume has to be turned up about half way to get good sound for movies. Playing CDs the sound is ample at much lower settings. But there is no sound distortion even at higher volume settings, so mine is a minor complaint.
If you are on a budget or simply dont want to spend a lot of money for a decent home AV system the HT-S3200 is well worth a look and listen. I have been very happy with this purchase. And after seeing the quality Onkyo builds into their low-end receivers I will definitely give their products a look if I ever decide to update my high-end audio system.

Its a perfect fit and now I can give my son my old system with the Onkyo front speakers. I mostly play the FM radio which is fabulous sound quality and plenty of punch. On weekends with my kids I use the theater system to watch DVDs and the sound is very clear and enjoyable. I also play my CDs throught the system and they also sound great. If you have a very large room you might opt for more power but for my room 25 x 18 this system is A-OK.. The system was easy to set up and the remote makes all very convenient. For the price this system is great.

This product is one of the best sound systems that your money could buy. First let me start by saying that the sound on these Onkyo speakers is impeccable. The sound is dynamic and makes you feel as if you are their. Although I rant and rave about the product there is still some good and bad about the product.
PROs
-Realistic and great sound
-Can turn one 1.3 HDMI into an extra three ports which means you can hook up more HDMI devices.
-Great for PS3
-Has many diffrent sound settings
-The bass will shake your house it is a powerful 8 inch sub that is directed toward the ground. It also has a side hole which optimizes the bass to stabilize the rattling that is caused by this bass.
CONs
-The speaker wire is really not long enough. Although it is helpful that they are color coded it is barely enough to cover a medium sized bedroom. Invest in speaker wire if you buy this unit.
-Sound lags when you fast foreward on Blu Ray or anything that is hooked up to it. Its not really a big deal. It does this for approximately two seconds then goes right back to normal.
Other then those small problems this sound system has incredible sound. The only thing that came close to comparison on this system was the Yamaha 5.1 system. The reason I went with this Onkyo is because it had no negative reviews and had one more HDMI input then the Yamaha unit. Overall a great buy and a great reciever package. I would definately buy this product again.

I did my research and glad I did. This is an awesome home theatre and stereo my age is showing for playing my music. Plenty of power and choices and lets me use my B speakers in the kitchen and back porch. The HDMI is worthless video only - I guess you could save a cable run or two with it but who cares - get your HDMI cables on eBAY and just run directly from your device to the TV. I just use the optical connection to my satellite and Blue Ray boxes and get great sound from them. My iPOD is plugged in the front.
Much better than one of the all in one systems like Samsung if you use it to play music most of the time like I do.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the sound of this system. I had previously owned only separate component systems, by several different companies, including Marantz, Allison, Sony, Yamaha, Pioneer, etc. And although the sound is not the equal of some of those systems, the speakers alone on those systems cost more than 4 times that of the entire Onkyo HT-S3200! I was even able to run my equalizer through the tape monitor loop and compensate for the small bump in the bass response to render a fairly flat frequency response curve. Can not imagine anyone needing more bass than what this system produces unless you are playing it in an auditorium. It reproduces music faithfully and accurately. The reproduction of gunshots will jolt you out of your seat, and car crash sounds are terrifying! As far as the HDMI pass-thru being a problem, I am running satellite TV, Blue-Ray DVD, CD player, VHS tape, and equalizer and have had no difficulty at all. The complaints about the chintzy speaker wires are valid, but go price 16 gauge wire and youll see why they decided to use the thin, but adequate wire to keep the price down.Great sound, more features than I will ever use, and prompt delivery from Vanns all at an unbelievable price - what more can you ask for?

The Onkyo HT-S3200 is the perfect system for new entrants into the world of home theater. It provides excellent sound at a very reasonable price. Outperforming many other systems in the same cost bracket, the HT-S3200 is a great purchase.
It packs a lot of punch even though it has relatively small speakers. The sub, alone, can almost bring down a house.
The only real gripe I have is that the manual does not contain any codes for programming the remote with any other electronics, but you can replace it with a good universal.

It sounds good and since the subwoofer is a passive one. You dont have to turn it on and off.
If you dont want to spend more money in wireless surround speakers system, be prepared to buy additional speaker cable.

I was especially impressed with the subwoofer as its not powered I didnt have a whole lot of expectations for its sound, but I hear it loud and clear! Do you need separate audio cables TOSLINK etc? Yes. Has that presented a detrimental problem? No. For the price its perfect.

Great starter system for great price! However, system does not have quite enough power for my liking - this is only MY personal opinion. The subwoofer needs a little more push added. Great system when considering expandibility, and I would recommend this system to others.

Quality product for the money. Easy to set-up and equally as easy to operate. This is my 3rd Onkyo purchase, the first two being AV receivers. I can honestly say that this is why I decided on their home theater system and happy that I didnt have to spend a lot of money to get a quality system.

Easy to setup, use, and enjoy! I bought thicker speaker cable than the ones included mainly because I needed longer cables for the rear speakers. Otherwise everything you need is in the box. Setup took about an hour including drilling holes and mounting the speakers to the wall w non-included speaker mounts.

This is my first home theater system and it sounds great. I was very pleased with the ordering process and the ability to track my system delivery. The only negative issue I have notice about the Onhyo HT-S3200 system is I still needed extra cables when using HDMI cables.

This is a great product for sure. I got it all setup with minimal time and the sound quality is awesome. I have been testing it for a couple of days and seeing how loud I can get it before I make my neighbor angry. This product is good for those that live in an apartment or a small home or someone who wants to have a gaming room. It also has a good price for what you get.

I already have a BluRay player, so I was looking for a HTiB that offered surround sound and an AV Receiver. I was looking for one that was an entry level system, but there turned out to be 5 or 6 options out there from different companies. I chose to go with Onkyo because they have a great reputation both online and from friends.
The system sounds great, and I am very happy with the purchase. I mainly use it to watch movies and TV, and I have no complaints.
Only very minor inconvenience
I wanted to mention that although HDMI cables will connect to your other devices from the AV receiver, you still need to connect audio cables to everything as well. However, once your system is set up youll never think about it again because it sounds great!
I would recommend this for someone that has a small to average sized room. If your looking for great surround sound to connect to a DVD or BluRay player you already have, this is a great option to look into.
