Make A Clean Break
When it comes to all-in-one home theatre, the HTSR800 has made a clean break from the pack. You're looking at packaged home theater that neatly integrates your high definition entertainment and your HDTV through an HDMI channel that transports video with a resolution all the way up to 1080p, the highest resolution HD has to offer. Ably supported by component video switching, the HTSR800 will handle most of the A/V components or formats currently available, as well as the spectacular quality of high definition discs. Also, reinforcing the convenience of matched components, this package is the first on the block to use Audyssey 2EQ/HTIB room-correction technology specifically designed for integrated systems. The options--such as iPod integration--can really extend your reach, making the HTSR800 one of the most complete packages you can buy.
All The Latest Connections
With two HDMI inputs and one output, the HTSR800 is the perfect complement for high definition displays and media. With HDMI as the video conduit, the HTSR800 will effortlessly transport and enable the full potential of Blu-ray, HD-DVD, DVD, HD broadcasts, and gaming. HDMI will deliver 720p, 1080i, and 1080p video signals from two sources for one connection direct to your HDTV. Its 1080p pass-thru capability is perfect for getting the highest possible video resolution from PlayStation 3 and dedicated Blu-ray Disc and HD DVD players. (You'll need a separate audio connection to process the multichannel audio.) Component video switching (50 MHz bandwith) with HDTV connectivity gives you even more integration. The HTSR800 will take up to three of the latest A/V components--including DVRs and the latest gaming consoles--connected simultaneously for one component video output to an HDTV.
It's A WRAT But Not A Rodent
Without a time-tested amplifier design, like Wide Range Amplifier Technology (WRAT), and precise digital-to-analog conversion process, even the most advanced processing features can't deliver a higher standard of audio from the latest high definition video and audio formats. WRAT is based on three key factors: a low negative-feedback design for cleaner audio across the frequency range, closed ground-loop circuits to cancel individual circuit noise and keep the ground potential free of distortion, and a high instantaneous-current capability to handle speaker reflex energy and impedance fluctuations. WRAT brings the best out of movie, music, broadcast, and gaming sources.
Speakers Fine-Tuned For You
As part of the HTSR800 package, you get Onkyo's HTP550 7.1-Channel Home Theatre Speaker System. These speakers can easily handle the most dynamic film soundtracks and provide good music reproduction as well. Given the low-frequency energy requirements of home theater, this system is anchored around the bass amplification of its 230-watt powered subwoofer. The front, center, and surround speakers provide the dynamic range and the ability to handle the most demanding audio signals. Sound from your loudspeakers is affected by walls, furniture and other objects in your room, creating peaks and dips at different frequencies. To counter this, Audyssey (in collaboration with Onkyo) has developed the first in its combination of room correction technologies specifically designed for home theatre packages. Audyssey 2EQ/HTIB works by combining speaker calibration with room correction to deliver optimally tuned sound for affordable home theatre packages. First, the speakers are precalibrated to optimize the speaker system. Then 2EQ performs room correction to remove distortion, thereby creating the perfect match between the speakers and your room. The end result is an ideal loudspeaker response that ensures your movies and music sound exactly as they should.
