For those of us who prefer to watch at home, a truly cinematic experience is ours for the taking. The HTBD1250's Blu-ray player offers full compatibility with 24fps playback. HDMI +
The HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) connection on the HTBD1250 transfers high definition (1080i/720p/1080p) video and audio from your player to your TV, home theater, or other digital A/V components. Simply connect your player to the rest of your components with an HDMI cable for the highest quality pictures and sound. The HDMI connection is also CEC enabled, which means that if you have other HDMI CEC components (like your television and receiver), you'll be able to control all your components with one-touch operation. The CEC allows the components to recognize and communicate with each other in a way that allows you to push a single button on the remote and get the appropriate response from your theater system.
Kelp #8212; Superfood and super conductor
Samsung has a whole new take on the "green" movement. They've started using kelp as a production material in their speakers. Kelp processed into pulp has a higher density than standard pulp fibers. Higher density means better clarity. It's also a lighter material, and the lighter the cone, the faster the response, leading to better timing and tonal balance. In addition, kelp is eco-friendly both on the production and discard ends of the life cycle. And if you come across roving band of hungry sea urchins, you can just dismantle your speakers and sacrifice your kelp cone to save yourself.

I recently purchased the Samsung HT-BD1250 I am just getting started learning about all the wonderful things this home theatre can do, and what I`ve seen so far, I`m very impressed. First off...if you are wanting to upgrade to Blu-ray, this may be the way to go. The picture is beautiful. The detail is excellent, sharp, clear very nice and the sound quality is second to none. Speaking of the sound, I am amazed at how much background noises this unit picks up, I mean you hear everything, even things you didn`t realize were there . And another great feature, the FM stereo. I can honestly say that this is the best sounding one I`ve heard so far. Another feature I liked that a lot of others who reviewed this didn`t is the controls that are mounted on top of the unit versus the usual on the front. You don`t even have to press the buttons to activate them, just run your finger across them, they are very sensitive. I do have a couple of issues though. I found it difficult finding speaker stands, but finally found some and made a few custom additions to them and they work great. It would have been nice if the speaker wire was longer but there are ways around that to. I visited my local electronics store and got a roll of speaker wire, some butt connectors and the problem was solved. I haven`t tried the wireless connection yet, but if it is anything like the rest of the features this unit offers, I will be happy. Overall, my experience with this purchase has been great. I would highly recommend this home theatre to anyone who wants great quality but is on a budget. Why spend hundreds more when you can own this at a fraction of the cost.

This was my second purchase of this product. I first bought a factory refurbished unit because the manufacturers warranty was still effective and I was able to add an extended warranty... This seemed to be a good deal because the defects should have been fixed, the warranty was still in effect, and the price was very good. WRONG! It arrived and no picture appeared. I contacted Samsung for the warranty repair and it took over a month. I recieved it back from repair and not all the functionsfeatures worked. I contacted Samsung and they wanted me to ship it to them for another month long warranty repair. NOT ACCEPTABLE! I contacted Vanns and they were there for me. They let me return the defective refurbished unit and sold me a new unit. The last transaction was PERFECT! This is surprising because this was originally an internet transaction so all return and exchange information was conducted by telephone and I was able to drop-off and pick-up at my local Vanns. This new unit performs perfectly. I considered exchanging the refurbished unit for another brand. I am happy I stayed with this unit. When comparred to other units, it exceeds features comparred to units within its own price range, and is much cheaper than units with comparrable features. The 2-way speakers are amazing! Dont be scarred off by the passive sub-woofer, it thumps! I also have a very high end THX bi-amped system with a 400 watt 15 sub-woofer. Yes I can make that system pound harder, but with the THX settings in effect the Samsung system has deeperlouder bass. The 5.1 surround is very effective. It truely has a virtual 7.1 surround capability, I would know because my THX system is a 7.1 surround. It is easy to listen to radio, cd, ipod, watch blu-ray, netflix, youtube, or blockbuster. Why pay for cable? With this system you can switch to over-the-air broadcast and stream from the internet. I hook my laptop to my TV with an HDMI and my TV has an optical audio out that I run into the surround sound. There are other on-line video streaming sites network and non-network that this blu-ray does not access. This way I can use my computer to get around that and stream to my TV, and still get surround sound! This is an amazing system! I recommend it to anyone who wants the best!

I upgraded to this system and found it to be very easy to set up. I had it hooked up and running in less than a hour. The sound is very good for the price. I was very impressed with the upconverting blue ray player. The picture of older DVDs is very impressive. The only downfall is that you have to purchase a samsung USB wireless Lan unit seperately. Overall I am very satisfied with this system and would recommend it to my friends.

I recently purchased the Samsung HT-BD1250 after researching home theater systems. The system was simple to hook up and went as per instructions. My wife laughed at me when I got up to answer the door when the knock actually came from the surround system. The sub woofer that came with the system is awesome and fills the room with effects and powerful sound. My only quip is the lack of inputs especially for the satellite tv systems which is the only way we can access cable type tv in the country.

Easy to set up, great sound with fantastic range, excellent image quality on Blu-ray movies I love the Netflix and Pandora streaming.
The documentation guided me through most of my installationcabliing scenarios, and everything worked once I powered everything up.
I tested a couple of standard DVDs and the 1080p upscaling feature of the BD player works well.
I am using a wired connect to an N router with cable modem and the Netflick and Pandora works well.

I knew I was getting a DVD recorder and some surround speakers with my new Samsung Theater System, but didnt realize all of its capabilities until it was set up and connected to my TV. I only assumed it would play DVDs, provide a radio and allow me to play hear the music on my iPod. Then I discovered how the Theater System and HDTV work together to provide me much more.
The Blue Ray enhances the HD video quality and the speakers provide beautiful sound. I can listen to my morning radio program or click on my iPod and choose from a CD in my repertory that appears on the TV screen. On a more personal note, I am able to play the DVDs of my grandsons basketball games and make a slideshow of all my Glacier photos. The Samsung has opened up a new audio and video world for me.

If you own a large screen TV,youre probably not going to enjoy the audio the TV produces.I recently purchased a 54 plasma TV and found this to be the case. After some research I decided to purchase the Samsung DVD Theater System HT-BD1250. I couldnt be happier with my purchase.
First and foremost,the sound it delivers is crisp and clear. I cant imagine far more expensive systems sounding better.
Setup was simple. The wiring provided was ample to fit the 17 foot by 10 foot room I needed it for.
The Bluray player works perfectly.The only complaint is the setup of the controls on the top front of the player. It is a little awkward.
One of the best features is the Netflix streaming capability.My entire family has enjoyed the ability to access the Netflix library for instant watching of movies and TV shows available.One note..if you want to go wireless you will need to purchase a Samsung Link Stick to receive a signal.
You can spend a lot of money for a TV Theater System.For the price I think the Samsung HT-BD1250 is a great purchase.

I purchased the Samsung to simply add realism, excitement to watching movies on flatscreen TV... Little did I know how much the system would add beyond that. Now we utilize the web-streaming capability of the Samsung nearly every day for either Netflix, Pandora Internet Radio or YouTube... how cool.
The sound is great in our room which is pretty large for a system such as this... Im sure I could have spent $1000s more, but truthfully I may not have been any happier.

I purchased the Blu-ray Samsung DVD home theater over a month ago and have been wowed with the performance of it thus far. I have owned a 40 in Samsung LCD HDTV and finally made the combo with this home theater system. I was so excited to try it out, I purchased a Blu-ray Fight Club DVD the same day. The picture is what totally makes an HDTV worth it and the sound on this system is incredible! I actually had to turn it down because my dog was freaking out from the background noises coming from behind the couch. Its crystal clear audio and the subwoofer gives lightning and other booming sounds a serious punch. It has a great look with the jet black and red tone to it as well. You can stream movies from Blockbuster.com and Netflix with a wireless connection. The only downside to this is that it takes about 30 seconds for the DVD to load before it will start to play. All in all, this is a must for a serious tech nut who wants to maximize their performance of their HDTV.

I love this system!! I love the Blu Ray player, the sound and picture are amazing. I love the Internet Streaming feature for watching movies on Netflix or BlockBuster and listening to music on Pandora - this is a great feature. Music sounds great on this unit and movies sound incredible.
However, to get wireless rear speakers requires a Samsung receiver unit that is about $110 but does install seamlessly. Additionally, in order to get the wireless feature if you do not have an ethernet readily available costs about $80 - so to get these two features figure on adding an additional $200. However both components are easy to install there are specific slots in the back of the unit and work great!
Another negative, if you want to nit pick, is that there is only one HDMI out so you are limited with this unit but at this price point that is expected.
I have this unit in my bedroom and LOVE IT - my girlfriend was skeptical but she uses the Netflix and Pandora feature all the time.
As always, VANNS is great with delivery and service - I buy all my major electronics purchases from them since I discovered them.

I purchased the above unit in your billings store. Im 63 years old and dont know much about electronics. Your salesman in your billings store was so patient with me. Your salesman had great knowledge of the bd1250. He made Me feel very relaxed. With the help in the store I can use my bd1250 with ease at home. it has so many good features,easy to use. The streaming feature is awsome. Im so happy to get Netflix instantly. Plus I saved over $150.00 buying at Vanns over a local store here in N.D.
