The LCD display shows time, mode, selected radio band, CD track and other information with large LCD numerals that are easy to see from across the kitchen, even in the dark. In addition to providing you with a large, easy to read clock, this multitalented component also provides you with a built-in alarm that you can use to let you know when your dinner is done (and so on). Four Bands are Better

Not only does the 4 band digital synthesized tuner offer the most accurate, drift-free tuning of all available radio stations in your area (AM & FM), it can also tune in audio from local TV (channels 2-13) as well as the latest weather reports from your local weather band broadcasts. I bought the under-cabinet radioCD as a gift for my sister. We now have it installed and have used it. It has a very rich appearance and the sound quality is superb! Just received the Sony AM FM Stereo & CD Player. Have not installed it yet, since its a Christmas present. However, unpacked the box when no one was around, plugged it in and held it up under the cabinet in the kitchen where it will be installed. Tuned in one of my favorite stations - WOW! I love this item!! We have great reception on all of the stations - FM, AM, TV, and Weather. The cd player is great and I like the way the buttons are made on the front of the unit. It can be cleaned so easily. The overall sound is very full and rich.

Everything about this system is remarkable. The reflective bass technology works well in the kitchen and the sound clarity is top notch for such a small system. The installation is simple -all you need is a drill and a screwdriver. One of the greatest concepts is that the remote control is a refrigerator magnet. Sony once again proved its innovative leadership with this excellent product.

I ordered the Sony ICF-CD543RM Silver under the cabinet AMFM CD player. This is a nice looking, good sounding radio. I bought it for myself for mothers day and every morning while getting the kids lunches ready it really wakes me up having music and the news right in the room I am in. The kitchen is the main room for all the gatherings in my house and the radio and CD player is a great help, especially for my son's 6th birthday party this past weekend. I hunted six months looking for the best space saverCDclock radio. After researching everything under the sun on the internet, big box stores and local retailers I settled on this Sony from Vanns.com.

First, Vanns had the best price anywhere.

Here's what I liked about the Sony. It was easy to install. The directions even had a template so I was able to drill the holes correctly on my first try. Second, the features are easy and intuitive. Third, the LCD display is easy to read both in daytime and nightime. The backlite at nite is muted and does not project a whole lot of light. Fourth, the sound quality is awesome. The unit comes with a three position mega bass setting. Fourth, the unit comes with a magnetic remote control. Fifth, radio reception for FM is great. Six, the design looks well and will fit into most kitchens. Seventh, the controls are all flat and easy to clean. The only problem I've had is not being able to get any weather channels. But, I just look out the kitchen window so that's not a great problem. Overall, a great product I've recommended to family and friends.

The Sony is a very functional stereo component system that will add pleasant sounds to your kitchen. It is trim, easy to install, and will free up alot of counter space. It is easy to program the channels and full of features normally found on more expensive systems. Like many other models, the AM radio is a little weak, but other than that, the Sony ICF-CD543RM will be a fine addition to your home.

I purchased this under the cabinet Sony radio a couple of months ago.I spend a lot of time in the kitchen with my cooking hobby.This radio works great.I can listen to the ball games on the am dial,and have perfect reception on the fm dial.The cd player also works great.My neighbor rents property,and he was so impressed with this radio, that he asked me to get him one for one of his rental units.I am very satisfied.

I think the sound is exceptional considering the size. It was easy to mount I did it wo my husbands help. The reception isn't the greatest for the radioTVweather but that could be where I put it. DH is going to try to put an antennae on it which will help.

I got one of these for my wife for her birthday, and she has told me many times this is one of the best presents I have given her. She just loves it. I looked at several kitchen style CD players, and they all sounded weak, looked ugly or bulky, and had reception problems. As far as I can tell there are no other ones even close to this one in quality and style. First, the sound quality. It uses an accoustic wave chamber just like the Bose wave radio so it really has very good bass. I have a home recording studio so sound quality is very important to me. The bass port is in the back, so you have to have it mounted under a cabinet to get the full effect- the wall and countertop reflect the bass back toward the front and the space under the cabinet acts as a sort of resonator giving it very strong bass response. It also has a switch on the side to adjust the amount of bass boost. Don't let the slim profile fool you into thinking there are small speakers in this. The speakers are mounted in a very unique way- they are angled down from the back third of the unit so the sound comes forward and down, the sound reflects off the counter top making it sound like the speakers are aimed right at you. The speakers are around 3-4'. The unit really sounds much bigger than it is and I compare the sound quality with my Bose wave radiocd. Some of the best features are the TV sound channels so you can listen to the News while in the kitchen, and the CD player that playse CD-RCD-RW disks. I have already made several custom disks for my wife to play on this unit. You also can't beat the price. At the time I ordered mine it was on sale for $99. I give it top marks because I have not found anything I don't like about.

I bought this radio to replace one that was about 15 years old. The reason...the old one did not have digital radio settings. So I set it and left it. When I did change the station it was a chore. This one is great! The sound is great on either AM or FM and I never have to work a dial to get it tuned in! I love the remote. As I'm reading the morning paper and the phone rings, I simply mute the radio. Great feature. My only complaint would be that I cannot read the clock from across the room, there is not enough contrast for the numbers to show up. But between the microwave and the coffee maker, this shouldn't present too much trouble.

The Sony Under Cabinet Radio is very nice. It has good, not great, sound, but you have to remember it's not a real high end system. It does what I wanted it to. Prior to this purchase I picked up a different under the cabinet radio, I think it was GPX or something. Yuk! That one still ran about $50, I'd much sooner, which I did, pay more money & have this Sony.

The reception - antenna could be a bit better but it's not awful.

This is a great sounding under the counter player. Surprisingly nice sound from such a compact player. Very easy to use and the remote makes it even easier. I get very good reception on the radio, AM and FM bands. I have not found a single thing to complain about with this unit. And thats usually fairly easy for me to do with anything electronic.

The price, packaging, and service from Vanns was unbeatable, and I am a completely satisfied customer.
