Turn any room into an iRoom
There's no reason to hide it — the playlists on your iPod or iPhone are just too good to keep to yourself. They're great company when it's just you, going across town, working out, or studying, but once you're back at home not only would you like to listen without the headphones, you'd like to share your tunes with everyone. So, you hang up your coat, head to the kitchen for a snack, and plug your iPod or iPhone into the Duo-i plus dock from Boston Acoustics. From there, dual 3.5" speaker drivers housed in separate, vented chambers serve up all your favorite songs and playlists in clear, detailed, high-fidelity stereo audio. While the use of separate acoustic chambers ensures rich, distinct stereo sound, the ported enclosure design teams up with Bass Track audio processing to enhance bass-audio output. And, of course, you aren't limited to the kitchen — add engaging, dynamic iPod audio to any room in your house with the Duo-i plus iPod dock. Finally, ensuring that you're ready to venture forth again with your iPod, the Duo-i plus charges your iPod while it's docked.
Stay tuned
When it comes to audio playback, the Duo-i plus' iPod compatibility is just the beginning. Now you can have the high performance of Boston Acoustics audio and all your favorite radio programming at the office, in the kitchen, or next to the bed. The Duo-i plus' precision digital radio tuner locks into your favorite AM or FM station, serving up radio programming with full, dynamic sound, thanks again to the dual 3.5" full-range drivers. Further, while 10 FM and five AM station presets let you dial in your favorite stations in a flash, rear-panel AM and FM antenna inputs let you boost reception with a separate antenna.
Rise and shine
Remember now, the Duo-i plus iPod dock/radio has an alter ego: the alarm clock. Hmm, an alarm clock, huh? Boy, that's a pretty exciting alter ego. It's true, most alarm clocks are, well, uninteresting at best. Actually, seeing as how they're the ones responsible for your having to get up every morning, they're the object of no little animosity. And yet, somehow the folks at Boston Acoustics manage to make an alarm clock that's . . . cool. Sure, the Duo-i plus' dual, independent alarms let you set two alarm times, but the real show-stopper here is the 360° snooze button. The entire outer trim of the Duo-i plus' face is a touch-sensitive snooze button. So, the next time you to go hit the snooze for another ten minutes of beauty sleep, you don't even have to bother to aim for a button — just tap the silver trim, and you're good to go. In fact, it's so simple, you can probably do it in your sleep.
Connections galore
Gosh, it seems such a waste that the high-performance audio reproduction offered by the Duo-i plus' dual 3.5" full-range drivers should be limited to iPod and radio audio. After all, you have an impressive CD library, too. Well, if you have a portable CD player, you can quickly connect to the Duo-i plus without any hassle thanks to dual auxiliary inputs — one 1/8" jack on the front panel, and one L/R analog pair on the back of the unit. And then, if you really want to get adventuresome, you can use the L/R audio line-out connection to feed a separate powered subwoofer for extraordinarily full, robust bass listening. But let's leave audio aside for a moment: Many iPod models support video . . . video that you might like to watch somewhere other than on the actual iPod's tiny screen. Well, if you have a video-capable iPod docked with the Duo-i plus, you can use the latter's composite-video output to send the iPod's video to your television. Like we said: connections galore.
Stayin' true
A final note on connectivity: just in case you want the real "iPod" feel, even while you're charging your docked iPod, the Duo-i plus sports a headphone jack.
