Bought this product and had everything functioning in under 20 mins. Streaming from a WD NAS device - DLNA compatible. Can also stream all my music from a docked IPOD to any DLNA capable device. I have my music in mp3 format and playlists in m3u via winamp and have no problems. Sony does not claim the device to be compatible with itunes and I have not tried streaming from windows media center. If you store all your music on an ipod, you can use this device to stream without having to use a computer.
The display is small but really not a big issue. The remote and display are functional enough to use on its on, the phone app is better.
Sorry to hear the last reviewer had such problems, I think the device is great. I have nothing against Apple I own Apple TV, Mac Mini, airport express but I prefer Winamp over itunes for organizing my music. Apples proprietary formats seem to make things difficult when trying to move outside the Apple world.
Minor issues - plastic construction.
Highly recommended.

I had been waiting for Sony to come out with this product for years, as I have a Sony credit card and can get it *free* using their bonus points. Unfortunately the product in its present state is not even worth *free.*
While the unit is compatible with the iPhone, it is NOT compatible with iTunes, which is where most iPhone users will have their music stored.
The unit works with Windows Media Player, which, unlike Apple products, doesnt just work. After a month of wrangling with the highest levels of Sony technical support, Qwest technical support, a visit from Geek Squad, and back to Sony technical support, I almost have the thing working, about $120 later. The unit finally has found the PC with the music and can actually see the music list. However, it cannot play any of the music listed because, despite the claims of the user manual, it is not compatible with the .m4a files created by iTunes! With over 500 songs in .m4a format, I do not relish having to convert my files to .mp3.
Even if the thing was working properly, the user interface is so primitive - on par with an LED readout of a toaster oven - that it is almost impossible to navigate to your music of choice. There is an iPhone remote control app which works much better, but with only one iPhone in our family, this is not a sufficient solution.
The unit has no shuffle feature.
This is a very very disappointing product. Given Vanns return policy, I would have had to have know all the defects of the product before opening it. Otherwise I would be returning it. Hopefully this review will save you the same fate.
