HAve been wanting to convert some of my old cassette tapes to digital. Did a lot of searching on line and found the Onkyo TA-RW255 to have some very good reviews. Bought the unit through Vanns as they had the best price. No regrets what so ever. Great unit at a great price. Received the unit in a very timely manner. Wound up purchasing other equipment through Vanns.

I bought this deck so I could listen to my collection of 400 grateful dead cassettes. The auto-reverse feature is great when you just want to jam and not have to rewind the tape. It also has a built-in noise reduction that is pretty effective. All in all for the money I am very pleased with this cassette deck.

I have found this tape deck to be easy to use and to have superior play-back quality. It is allowing us to enjoy older tapes and to copy cherished LPs. Cassette tapes should remain a viable alternative for listening pleasure!

Just like the old decks of the 70s and 80s only better since this deck has dual cassette decks to make copies for all your newly analog sound loving friends! Nice construction including aluminum front panel and reliable computer logic controlled controls.

I have an old truck with a cassette player that still works fine. My 1990s vintage Sony ES Cassette Recorder gave up the ghost and cannot be repaired so I started looking for a replacement. I was happy to find that Onkyo still makes a cassette recorder because I have been very satisfied with their past products. This deck produces great sounding tapes - almost indistinguishable from the source CD material - and sounds significantly better than the deck it replaced. Way to go Onkyo!
The only complaint I have is that the record level control is difficult to index because the indent is the same color as the control - black.
I am completely satisfied with my first order from Vanns - great service, fast shipping, friendly folks. Best of all, theyre just down the road from me in Missoula, MT. Ill be back for future electronics purchases.

This is a replacement from another brand that went defunct.. We are so very pleased with our Onkyo TA-RW255 tape ddeck. It does the same things our old one did but is so much easier to use and has a much clearer sound. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a tape deck.

Works as it should. I played tapes that were made in the 80s and they sound great. I have made a recording with it playback was great i did not here any tape hiss. The only thing needed is back lights behind the tape so you can see how much tape is left.

If you own or are thinking about purchasing a Onkyo Theater Surround System and you still have cassettes, you must add this Dual Deck Player to your list of componets! We are avid music listeners from LPs, 45s, cassettes and CDs. Adding this to our system was a no brainer, Easy set up and easy to operate with continuose playback and auto reverse. Our old cassettes now sound like a brand new CD! Rediscovering our old library of music has been awesome!.

I owned this same deck untill it died after many years of use as all cassette tape decks have that I have owned but this deck out lasted most if not all of the others. My hifi set is also Onkyo and I like that it interfaces. I also like the large meter display for setting my recording levels. I have generally had good luck with Onkyo and should with this deck.

Good delivery and shipped in good condition in good time. The deck works good for the most part. It is a little hard t insert a cassette, unless you push the pin down in a weird way. If not you could break the cover if you push it.

For those of us out there who still use cassette decks, you will not purchase a finer machine for the money....period. I have owned onkyo products in the past, and when I came alone this one it was happy day! The features this unit has are typically found on machines costing $250.00-$300.00, so the value you receive is excellent. All my componants are onkyo. My tape deck as over 25 years old and finally gave out. I found a new one on Vanns. The manual said that it would not play older cassettes without ID pits. I have a lot of tapes that I recorded in the mid 70s and they work flawlessly and sound great. Shipping time was decent and the price couldnt be beat.

The Onkyo TA-RW355 is everything I was looking for in a cassette deck. It performs flawlessly.
I really like the RI function for use with my other Onkyo equipment. The owners manual is well written. It matches my other Onkyo gear perfectly.

My old cassette deck quit working while playing Christmas music and decorating the tree, so I had to get another one right away for the season. I shopped all over the internet and decided that this OnkyoTA-RW255 was the best for the money. I was taking a chance never having had an Onkyo before. Ordering it from Vanns was really easy and it arrived four days earlier than they said it would. It was extremely easy to set up and operate, very simple and straight forward. When I turned it on I was really shocked to hear the excellent sound coming from the speakers, much better than with my older unit, even though I was playing a tape that was over 10 years old. Clear, clean, full sound.
I would recommend this product and Vanns to anyone. The price was VERY good, as was the quality.
